Great pizza and walking distance from where I am at first tobacco shop! I will be visiting often

We have order from the Schereville for years. We have called multiple times with theses issues and enough is enough. They have become terrible almost 2 hours to deliver!!!! Customer service bad , pizza has become substandard! Its a shame after almost 17 years of ordering several times a month and have multiple family get togethers there to have to say goodbye. Aurelio's has been a local favorite for many people for decades now. We used to go to the Schererville location while dating years ago. Not much has changed, which is a good thing in this case. The restaurants are not fancy and low lit. More on the order of a pizza hut. Service has been good and friendly at the Schererville and Crown Point locations. The pizza is good. The sauce is a bit on the sweet side which makes it unique. read more

We went to Aurelio's last night & the pizza was amazing! Very good! The large family house salad & the calabrese were delicious too! The only entre that wasn't quite up to par was the chicken parm dinner, but don't order a dinner at a place that's known for their pizza. Our server, Jenny, was really nice, very attentive & took care of our family while we were there. It was quite refreshing to hear her say that she likes her job very much & she likes people! My husband and I really like to go to the Aurelios in Cedar Lake. The service has always been great, the salad good, the buffet is good but we are a fan of cheese and sausage pizza and it is always in high demand on the buffet, and when we just order pizza it is always served piping hot and served by a smiling courteous waitress. Our only complaint is that it is TOO LOUD to have a great conversation. read more

Their pizza is ok depending on who makes it. Over the years it has been great or burnt. Stay away from anything else. Their Italian beef is garbage. Semi warm thick roast beef, not Italian beef served on a half toasted half soggy bread with no seasoning or flavor. My upgrade to fries were soggy but yet had a slight browning to them. When I asked how do you cook your fries they replied in the oven. Yuck! I had them take the cost off for the fries but my food was still awful. Now I have to go to Bullpen or Pops to get something to eat...probably Bullpen to drink off my anger. read more

Good pizza with old school pizzeria feel. They always use excellent ingredients and cook the pizza to perfection (especially if it's well done); however, the dining area is a bit dark and not very comfortable with those wooden-back bench seats. The service is usually pretty attentive, but have had off nights where it takes forever to get a water. read more

People like to find reasons to complain. I'm not one of them. I've had Aurelio's at around 10 different locations and they were all phenomenal pizzas. Saw a few reviews saying certain locations taste better than others and whatnot, but if you're honest with yourself and know anything about pizza ovens, ingredient distribution areas, etc. you know there could be SLIGHT differences. One thing is for sure, if you put an Aurelio's pizza in front of me from any of their locations and blind taste test me, I will know exactly what I am eating. Aurelio's has their own unique taste that has established them as one of the top local chains in the Chicagoland area for over 60 years. Schererville just happens to be my hometown location, which I've eaten innumerable times. What you get here is a thin soft airy crust cooked to a golden brown. It really has a non-comparable texture to it that is right in the middle of crispy and flimsy. The craftsmanship has the cheese and toppings stretched across the entire pizza all the way to the very end up the crust. This is a pizza for people who do not like to eat crust, because there really isn't any. The cheese blend is not a straight mozzarella. The cheese is melted with just the littlest hint of caramelization on top resulting in a clean bite that doesn't have a stingy quality as you pull it away. If I knew what the cheese blend was, I still probably wouldn't tell you, because I respect what Aurelio's does. The sauce is delicious; just leans slightly to the sweeter side, so it could still appeal to almost anyone who loves pizza. They have one of the best seasoned sausage that is cooked perfect and juicy. Pepperoni is cooked enough until is not crispy, but not greasy and soggy. It has a nice spice and saltiness to it. Sometimes I find myself eating other pizzas and I think "Hey this almost tastes like Aurelio's." If that is any testament to the staple this great restaurant has in the pizza eating community, I don't know what does. If you live near an Aurelio's, it is your duty to at least check them out. read more

I have been eating at Aurelio's since I began eating. I always love the South Holland and Homewood locations. I have tried a few other locations over the years and was never that impressed. We ordered from the Schererville location last weekend, and to my surprise it tasted like the Aurelio's that I grew up with and loved. The crust, sauce, and cheese were all fantastic. My fiance's family owns Italian restaurants and pizza parlors up in Wisconsin so they are picky about their pizza. Even they were impressed by the Aurelio's in Schererville. It is a little on the pricey side, but I am always willing to pay for quality. Keep up the good work! read more

Region Girl stuck in Indy. When I go back home, Auerlio's s on the menu. I miss it so much. Nothing down here compares to it... NOTHING!!!! Some locations are better than others, but even the so-so locations are good. I'm passing down he pizza snob tradition to my teenage son who also declares this the best pizza EVAHHHH! Hello, food snob here. I would say the best in Northwest Indiana as far as pizza. Good quality, fresh ingredients. Even when delivered its good, and warm. Real close with Pascales in Saint John. The only problem with Pascales is when they deliver the pizza is cold. read more

My in laws live and die by the pizza here. I am not to fond of it personally though. I think there is not enough sauce. It just puts forth a taste that I don't prefer. Aurelius is our favorite pizza. Great sauce and anti pasta salad is tops. Been to several locations and all are great.

Prepare to wait a while for the food and drink refills if you go on a Tuesday night. Server was nice but very overwhelmed running the whole restaurant by herself. Seems like really poor management as there were 5 cooks, 1 hostess and 3 bussers that we saw and not a single one of them came out to help this lady with refills or boxing up food. I don't even think their was a manager on duty and if there was they should be ashamed. We got there at 6:15 and were not able to leave til 8. That's a long time for pizzas and a salad, not to mention the salad came out 10 minutes after the pizza . read more

Pretty tasty. I'm from Tn and when we come up to Dyer for Thanksgiving we eat this alot seems to be their family tradition. The pepperoni is probably the best. The cheese has a buttery flavor. We had pepperoni and mushrooms last night. It kinda looked like they took a handful of mushrooms and plopped it right in the middle. Wish it would have been more evenly distributed. My friends and I decided to meet at the Aurelio's in Schererville tonight. I was going to be late and told my friends to order because pizza takes awhile to bake. When my son and I arrived, we were given a choice between Pepsi or water. We were never offered menus or asked if we wanted to order anything. My friends had to ask several times for more drink refills and ketchup. After several failed attempts to get the waitress's attention, my friend finally ordered for me. My fries were cold and tasted like old oil. If I eat Aurelio's food again, it will be just to carry-out pizza. read more

This establishment seems completely ill trained on handling large groups. I was there with a group of about 15 for a social meet up. The server seemed to only pop in occasionally and immediately disappear with people at the table calling out after her to stop because they needed something. Only once did it work when half the table finally raised a fuss to get her to stop from running off again. We were paying separately but when the bill came out, everyone was on the same ticket. We asked to have the orders broken out. They refused saying that, "their system couldn't do that." So we all went through and marked who got what and gave her the ticket to break it out separately. They refused, suggesting, instead, they we just give them our cards and decide how much we wanted charged to each one. We were all pretty miffed at this point but agreed, tabulating our respective totals and writing on the back of the ticket our card numbers and how much was to be charged to each. The server took our cards then came back a couple minutes later stating that they ran all the cards but apparently it didn't cover the entire total on the bill (someone made a math error it seemed - an easy mistake with that many people) so they decided to charge the difference onto the last card they ran. They did this without the permission or authorization of the card holder. They just doubled a member of our group's bill because the restaurant decided it wasn't their problem. Fortunately he was gracious enough to wave it off and cover the difference but this establishment has lost our business. I don't know what kind of an operation they are running but it's abysmal. Aurelio's has fabulous tasting pizza. Whether I've ordered it with just cheese, meats or veggie style, it tastes terrific. Now I have dined in at this restaurant twice and I hate to say this but the service was terrible both times. My family came in from Florida last year at Christmas and we brought in quite the large group including extended family from the area. They seemed annoyed at the size of our group. They were moderately busy but overly busy. (and how difficult is pizza?) We had a huge center table (two or three pushed together) as well as three booths occupied. We barely got any service after our pizzas were delivered. We had no silverware (we were told it was being "washed") and finally I got someone to bring us plastic ware. We often had to approach a server to refill or soda or to re order beer for a few of us. The restaurant insisted that our bill be placed all on one tab which made it extremely difficult to figure out. We asked that the center table be placed on one tab and the individual family's at the booths be placed on their own tabs. They refused. Really? I get it. They didn't want to miss out on the imposed 20% group tip. I've been a server with large groups. I was always as accomodating as possible when it comes to splitting a bill as it is extremely time consuming trying to figure out your bill when 30 people's food is all on one bill. Splitting it up a bit should not be such an issue. I don't want to hear how difficult it is for the server to split up the bill a few times because it isn't. We go out to eat. It's a paid service. None of us were imposing or rude, in fact we were quite polite. I am totally against an imposed 20% tip. I never did it as a server and you get a better tip usually if you dont!! Would I ever go their again and give them another chance to give me and my family better service? I doubt it . This was a very special time for us to gather and they put a damper on it with their bad attitudes and annoyed mannerism. Very disappointing to be treated that way. I suggest picking up your delicious Aurelio's pizza and taking it home with you. read more

Today 9-20-14 ordered and picked up a large stuffed pizza half sausage half pepperoni way to much sauce and tasted like it looked then ordered a large spinach calabrese looked like a medium and was under cooked a bit but tasted alright,I grew up on the Homewood Illinois location and hands down way way way better than Scherrivile Indiana location I live in Dyer now and will from now on only go to Homewood for my pizza cravings or Arrenello's in Glenwood Illinois And I know a lot of you are saying bring it back or call to complain for what another crappy pizza taking as a loss and a learning experience. read more

We came in with a party of about 15 people. The pizza was fine, but the appetizers were awful-- stale, under-cooked and lukewarm not to mention they took 20+ minutes to arrive at our table and did not include marinara for ravioli and cheese sticks. When we told our waitress we were unhappy with the apps she told us she thought their new ravioli are gross. Not exactly what customers want to hear from staff. Moreover, most restaurants will have the manager come check on the table if food is sent back, but we were barely checked on by our waitress with no manager in sight. It wasn't even a busy night! Our service was subpar. The server rarely checked on us. She didn't know what kind of Sam Adams was on tap and asked my husband to name the different varieties of Sam Adams to see if one sounded familiar to her. I had to go up twice to the front counter to get our two water pitchers refilled. She never asked if anyone wanted refills on soda and we had to also get soda refills ourselves at the front counter. Service was terribly slow (apps came out maybe 10 mins before the pizza) and we were still charged for those gross appetizers. Our server also wrote "gratuity not added" on the receipt, which is rather tacky. We usually eat at Aurelio's Geneva or Homewood. We absolutely will not return to Schererville even though it's closer when we visit family in Indiana. I would recommend people avoid this location. read more

Went on a Saturday night. Had great service and a great pizza. Year after year, this Aurelios lives up to its reputation.

Another good pie in NWI!!! A little pricey for a Fiesta size, but plenty left over for tomorrow. Comes with boatloads of cheese!!

Just came here tonight (11/7/15)with a group of 12. We were told 15-20 minutes for a table. We were seated about 50 minutes later. We were told that our pizzas would take 35 minutes. About 55 minutes later after complaining, they arrived. Pizza's were warm, not hot. It took the waitress another 10 minutes to bring silverware, and she only brought service for 8.
