Refusal by Aurelio's to service deaf customer using relay translation call.
    Jessica W.

Thanks Aurelio's for refusing to take my order, essentially because my deafness inconveniences you. You knew what the call was for, picked up, even asked for my phone number on "pick up" after "relay" was explained to you. (I've ordered pizza already hundreds of times there through the same relay service, so it should be well known, no excuses) Then, you told me you didn't have time for "this" because it's the dinner rush. And hung up 3 times, I even asked you to please serve me, because I also want dinner. SMH Again, Thanks for choosing not to service me because it inconveniences you, and because it interferes with 2 minutes of your time, which was used to better serve your customers without a hearing loss.

This review is long overdue as my husband and I have been coming here for a few years--not…read moreregularly--but enough times to let people know to support this small, family-owned business. The ambiance is cozy and inviting with only 14 tables. Yes, only 14. Instead of expanding to the masses, this restaurant chooses to keep its vision to retain dining as the experience it should be. The murals on the wall, and the feeling of being in an outdoor cafe while remaining inside, is something you don't see much in the area. The food is always fresh and delicious. We've enjoyed lasagna, manicotti, carbonara, fettuccine, piccata (chicken with capers), Marsala, salad and desserts. The wine is served in large glasses so you get a nice serving to enjoy some Chianti or choose another nice Italian wine on the list. The restaurant serves wine and beer only, and coffee drinks. I've heard the pizza is great but haven't tried it yet. It always looks good when another table orders it. Carry out is available in the back of the building. The owner is very nice and will talk about his Italian heritage with a warm smile. This restaurant is truly a little gem hidden behind big box stores. It makes a nice date night too. Make a reservation on Friday or Saturday.

She only checked on me once, was very dry. What is worse after waiting about 20 minutes for her to take my payment, well that never happened. I went up to the counter to pay my bill. She picked up all of the other customers bills at their table. This was my 4th time dinning in, first time ever receiving this type of service. I felt HURT and VERY sad leaving. I never intentionally treat people bad. The other young ladies that waited on me in the past were very kind and attentive. She was clearly having a good day by the way she interacted with the other customers. Lastly after taking my payment she never stayed to see the transaction through. Immediately I took my receipt and left. No excuse for this type of behavior. I will never return to this establishment. Cafe Borgia, service is Top of the line. The owners greet you and talk to you. Servers are OUTSTANDING! Anna should go there for training!

We chose Carrabba's due to its proximity to us. We ordered raspberry, flavored, iced tea, Caesar salad, Sacchetti appetizer, and Lasagne. My partner ate some of the Sacchetti appetizer as her dinner. I say some because it was room temperature. The server asked how our food tasted and we told her the appetizer was not hot or even warm. The manager came over and asked if we wanted a new one. We did not want a new one and we're happy to find out that they took it off the bill. The lasagna was just OK and regrettably. I ordered a take-home for the $10 deal before I was able to taste it as my dinner that night. My soup and my partner salad was brought out first and very shortly after about two minutes the rest of our food came out. We were disappointed because we did not finish our first course at that time. My soup came with a teaspoon and not a soup spoon. The raspberry iced tea did not have a lot of flavor. We asked our server about this, and she said that the manager changed the sign in the back from six pumps of flavoring to two pumps of flavoring recently. Two pumps was not enough.

The stuffed shells were good. I'd order them again. The gelato was delicious. Ambiance: The dining room is very open and bright. You can see through the divider between the Fiori dining room and the Truth bar (separate menu experience) next to the dining room. That was different. We plan to visit again for the Truth experience. For Fiori, I'd repeat the calamari for certain and possibly the stuffed shells.

Me and my mom share a 6" sandwich. They give you enough fries for at least three people. I think this is probably the best cheesesteak you're going to get outside of Philly. There are two locations. The original location is in Hammond. Never been but I know it's very small--carry out only. I go to the one in Schererville which is right off US 30 on Cline. It is a much larger restaurant with ample dine in space and easy parking. They use the same recipes as the Hammond location. The staff are extremely friendly and polite. In addition to the cheesesteak they offer subs and a couple other types of sandwiches. You can also get your sandwich as a wrap and they offer egg rolls. They also sell Italian ices. Highly recommend!
