I'll be separating my review between service and food. I'm noting this down to bring both my compliments and criticisms. The food was phenomenal. If food alone was what I'm rating, this place would be a 3 or 4. I, myself, ordered the French toast breakfast with poached eggs and bacon. The food was fitting and definitely delicious. Price is a little iffy for the amount given, but the quality of the food was amazing. My family liked their food as well. However, removing the food aspect from the equation, the service was a bit off putting. From a simple glance around the room, there was a CLEAR difference how our table was treated in contrast to other tables from the way we were spoken to, checked on, and assisted, and I am sad to say it was not in a good way. I hope that this is a one time thing where the woman who assisted us was having a bad day, but with her showing kindness to other tables, but appearing as if we were a drag to assist throughout the whole meal, it's quite a disheartening feeling. I may try out this place again (maybe not for breakfast) but at the time being, this place is not somewhere I'd recommend. read more

Good ambience. Service is a crap shoot, especially if it's busy. Food is meh. I will say their hand cut fries BY ITSELF (not the fish and chips) is pretty good. Everything else is mid to subpar. Even the chicken wings are precooked/flash frozen crap that's reheated. I know because some pieces are cold as ice but it's clearly cooked. The drinks are pretty decent. Shoot! I used to LOVE this restaurant. Just one year ago, this place was a true foodie restaurant where I could order unique items like duck fat fries to rhubarb cocktails! It was such a great experience before that mom and I have been talking about it ever since and have been so excited to come back. Unfortunately, we came back with the expectation it would be the same menu and quality, and it wasn't. It's as though it was bought out by someone else but kept the name? While service was great, the food was terrible. :( The food was equivalent to a low end diner, but double or triple the price. Aurora is a bit pricey, but the food and service were great. We had a large party, but they wouldn't seat us until everyone was there, so we ended up splitting into three smaller groups, which worked well. Our table split the calamari appetizer, a Caesar salad, and a cheese pizza. The food was delivered piping hot and very quickly. They had a great wine selection, so we also decided to split a bottle of red. The dessert looked delicious, but we were too full from dinner to get to try it. There is a bar with plenty of seating right next to the restaurant, too, with a wide variety of beers, wine, and liquor for after dinner drinks. read more

Stopped in after a day at the Nordic Spa while we waited for the shuttle to take us back to town. The ambiance is nice with the fire places and it looks like they have made some updates with couches and areas to hangout with groups of friends. The drinks and food are decent bar food. Staff is super friendly and does a great job, though they are a bit understaffed. read more

Well, I guess it ain't a bad price, especially being at a ski resort right? Might even say cheap... might. So, I asked for medium and got close to well done, or maybe medium-well. But it was still relatively juicy. The bun was nicely done as a pretzel bun. I don't like many pretzel buns because they tend to be too bready, or just too.... pretzelly. But this one stayed mostly out of the way. Thank you Sir Pretzel Bun. Otherwise a standard burger. Fries were very well cooked and crispy. 6/10 So, avoid the fish "salad" sandwich. I was happy to see a great sour on the menu, but fyi, don't read that and conclude they have an extensive list, cause... they don't. Maybe half a dozen good beers. I've had a couple meals here while staying at Alyeska Resort. The pizza we had was pretty good, crust cooked just right, fresh toppings and proportional. Delicious! The burger I had was a frozen patty, the toppings not as fresh and the whole thing was sort of soggy from oil. Couldn't tell if the oil was from the beef or the thick provolone but it ruined the burger. I pulled the meat off to try it alone and it was bland. The pizza was good but the burger missed the mark completely. I expect more of a restaurant at a resort such as this. They need to do some work and this could be a 5 star joint. read more

Nestled in Alyeska resort, this is one of the restaurants in the resort. The ambience is very comfy and there's two sections depending on your preference: a comfy "living room" style area and a table, bar setting. The menu has only a few choices. There's only 4 entrées for example. They are very good and flavorful. You can complete your dining experience with different other things like salads, soups and desserts. All have a nice little Alaskan touch that is different of the usual. The burger is excellent with a big patty and a tomato jelly. The curry seafood soup was spicy and flavorful. read more

On a snowy day in the Alyeska Lodge, it's convenient to stop-in for a drink in the bar area; however, be prepared for extremely loud boisterous sports fans watching the flat panel near the bar. It's always crowded in Winter from people coming off of the ski slope. Not the place to be if you want to have "quiet conversation!" It's a bit quieter in the adjacent walled-off dining area. The appetizers and meals are variable, just depends on what you order. During the past Holiday Season eight of us, at different tables in the dining area, had a good time visiting and having drinks and food. I actually quite enjoyed the food here, and the waitstaff is stellar. They really make sure you're enjoying the meal without making you feel incompetent for asking any questions about the cuisine on the menu. We dined here on our first night in Girdwood, and were not disappointed by any of the menu options. The chef's special appetizer, a halibut ravioli in pesto sauce, was really fantastic (although came with a pretty price point as well). The clam linguine I ordered with garlic butter sauce came in and was devoured within minutes. I resorted to sopping up the brine with the toasted focaccia bread served alongside the meal (which was one of my better decisions in life, mind you). Since then, I've enjoyed some lunches at Aurora as well. Servers have always been efficient without rushing you. Perfectly polite and hospitable. I ordered the Greek pizza which, as others have been quick to note, came with some great chew to crisp balance on the crust. Toppings for me were pretty decent, as they peppered the top with Kalamata olives, feta cheese, sliced beefsteak tomatoes, and artichoke. Some tzatziki sauce with lamb would have been amazing, but I digress. My last order did happen to contain both those elements - the lamb kofta. Yes, it is as delicious as it sounds, meat-eaters. Served on a warm, fluffy pita, the seasoned lamb sausage comes served with tzatziki, cucumber, tomato, and a bit of lettuce. AND crispy fries. Did I mention they provide Sriracha upon request? One of my better meal choices in Girdwood. If you happen to be in the resort for a couple of days, worry not on the flavor side. Perhaps be a bit concerned about your wallet though... read more

The bf & I usually swing by to relax at the bar, and enjoy a cold pint of Twister Creek IPA. It's cozy in there, elegant but easygoing, and I've noticed that the service is friendly but non-intrusive...my favorite. Today we came for lunch and ordered an 18" pizza (also comes in 12") with chicken, BBQ sauce, smoked Gouda, and red onion. Sounded interesting and did not disappoint. The combination of ingredients were delicious and I'd go as far as to say that the crust was one of the best I've ever had. We are very happy that one of our preferred places to unwind also serves such yummy food! read more

There's nice views out the window but the bar and restaurant do feel a little tacked-on, like maybe the space wasn't originally planned for it or was planned poorly. Some nice mules you got there ... be a shame if I drank them all. The Vodka Mules at Aurora Bar and Grill in The Alyeska Resort were refreshing. The Gin Mules were even better ... the kind of mule you can ride into the never-ending night. My wife and I settled in for a nice night of drinks and food at the bar. The mules brought booze and took our burdens away followed by a simply satisfying Cheese Plate with five cheeses, fruits, and some nuts. My entree was a heaping mound of delightful Linguine Bolognese before a tempting and sinful Baked Alyeska (this resorts version of the Baked Alaska dessert) ended our meal. The only real ... and it was glaring ... negative was a cray-as-May bartender that was the bastard son of Biff Tannen and Debbie Downer. The other bartender was clearly new ... and nice. Any chance we got to order/chat with her was a bonus until sourpuss came back and barked about some disappointment with one of the servers, the working conditions, or his existence. I was ready to drink my Alaskan night away, but turns out I was more eager to get away from this guy. If you're at the Alyeska Hotel and want a memorable Moscow Mule, simple supper, and delectable dessert, check out the 2nd-floor Aurora Bar and Grill, but for a nice, relaxing night, don't sit at the bar. read more

But the pizza crust somehow manages to be a surprisingly impressive balance of gooey and crispy. If you're staying at the hotel, go to Sakura and get some sushi. If they aren't open, come here for a decent burger or the pizza. It's never been disappointing... just nothing particularly special. The service is always good too. We ate here twice for dinner since on the second night we found out "Sakura Asian Bistro" was closed. The first night I had the "Clams linguini with Garlic, Butter, White Wine" it tasted fresh and clean but could have used a little more salt, but was cooked very well. The second night I had the "12oz Tuscan Rib-Eye Steak with Rosemary Garlic Pesto with Roasted Potatoes" which I highly recommend, I got it medium being cautious (medium rare is so different place to place), but probably could have gone medium rare, the potatoes were amazing. My wife got the "Caesar Salad with House-Made Caesar Dressing, Parmesan, Fresh Lemon, Herbed Crostinis" with the addition of "salmon" both nights and loved it, obviously being in Alaska the salmon was very fresh. read more

The Aurora Bar & Grill on the third floor of the Hotel Alyeska has a serious burger. It also has a $5 house margarita with scratch simple syrup, and a signature King Street brew, but that's not why I would go there. Confession time: these burgers are so good that I had 2 within my less-than 24-hour stay. The Wagyu burger is a half pound of heaven on a pretzel bun. This pretzel bun is not dense either, it's airy and almost brioche-y. If you're like me 45-seconds ago and don't know the difference between Wagyu, Kobe, or other beef, here's always-helpful Wikipedia: Wagyu (和牛 Wagyū, "Japanese cow") is any of several breeds of cattle, the most desired of which is genetically predisposed to intense marbling and to producing high percentage of oleaginous unsaturated fat. The meat from such wagyu cattle is known for its quality, and commands a high price. In several areas of Japan, wagyu beef is shipped carrying area names. Some examples are Kobe, Mishima, Matsusaka, Kuchinoshima,[1] Ōmi, and Sanda beef. TL;DR: Wagyu = delicious marbling. And unsaturated fat? Basically this burger is health food. Anyway, at $15, the burger is priced reasonably for a nice hotel, but less reasonably when I add the bacon for $2 more. Remember, it needs some saturated fat, lol (also, I cannot tell servers "no" when they ask if I'd like to add bacon). The fries are crispy and delicious. I'm a sucker for cute presentation, so fries in an adorable mini fryer basket appreciably added to my experience. I've had their pizza and dessert, but they weren't as memorable as their Wagyu burgers. However, Aurora Bar & Grill is one of the few places in Southcentral where you can have baked Alaska---though they call it "Baked Alyeska." Dinner service was excellent, attentive but not overly so. Lunch-time service was not as impressive: it took about 20 minutes after asking to get the check. read more

My mom and I stayed at the Alyeska Resort one night before getting on a cruise. This is one of the hotel's restaurants and we ate dinner here. We had to wait a few minutes for a table but not long at all even though they were busy. Our server was very attentive and came by often but gave us time to decide what we wanted to eat. I had the burger which comes on a pretzel roll. I added mushrooms and got a side of mayo. The burger was really flavorful, cooked correctly, juicy, messy, just how you want a burger. The fries were tasty too. Crisp on the outside and soft inside. Mom had a create your own pizza with just pepperoni. It was a nice thin crust, spicy pepperoni. Nice sauce and cheese flavor. The restaurant overlooks the Alyseka mountain and grounds. Beautiful view with great food and service. read more

I guess he was too busy finishing his conversation in the corner before acknowledging us. The hostess was super friendly though. It's unfortunate that their servers aren't at the same level. Food isn't the best, but you're kind of limited on restaurant choices in the hotel. The linguine Bolognese was decent though, much better than the clam linguine. Anyway, we finished our food and was ready to go. Our server walked by several times, never cleared our plates, never asked how the food was, never brought us our check. At this point, there were only 2 other seated tables. There's no excuse for such poor service. We had to stop the server while he was passing by and asked for our check. We stayed at alyeska for the night and had dinner at the aurora bar and grill. I wasn't expecting a lot because of the bad review so I was wonderfully surprised with my experience. I guess because I came on an off season (October) there wasn't much foot traffic. Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive. The food was the great! We shared the seafood chowder and I'm glad we did because serving size is big. The chowder was so good, that could have been a meal by itself. But I still had the halibut for entree and I'm glad I did. Because the halibut was delicious. The pistachio crust really goes well the mild halibut. They did slightly overcooked the halibut hence the 4star. We also had dessert after, of course. And the creme brûlée is so creamy and velvety, I loved it! It was my favorite part of the meal. Very generous portion of risotto, it was decent, I think it might have been slightly undercooked, good sized price of halibut, but for the $19 price. Overpriced but so is everything at a resort. Super disappointed in the changes that have been made here, and I hope it is not permanent. One of the bright spots of coming to stay at the Alyeska resort with our kids used to be coming here to eat delicious pasta, yummy pizza, and some fantastic appetizers and drinks. Unfortunately, they have slimmed down their menu to offer more "bar" type food, and are also restricting access to anyone under 21. I am sure this started due to COVID, but it has really limited the options for families while staying at the resort, since there are only two other options in the hotel (the Pond and the Sushi restaurant, both of which do not offer a ton of selection. I will miss the Alfredo, unique martini selection, and my husband will miss the seafood pasta read more

Our server made our experience at Aurora Bar and Grill miserable! We had just lost a family member and we're out celebrating an anniversary upon their wishes in Girdwood. We drove from the valley and had people fly in. Get to the restaurant where there's only one other table seated in the area. Requested to put 2 4 top tables together which would easily connect by the window (which was available). Told us absolutely not he wasn't allowing that and sat 6 of us at a table with 5 chairs, told us he'd squeeze in a chair to make it work. It was uncomfortable and tight so we suggested to the server we'd just sit separately at two different tables and break up the group. Since we couldn't be a family together comfortably. Drinks were delayed and items from the meal were forgot and brought at the end. When paying he charged us the group gratuity since we were there together yet we felt it wasn't acceptable since he wouldn't allow us to be together. Whole experience was uncalled and very unprofessional. I've been going to Alyeska since I was 3, we chose this place to mourn the loss of a loved one and all be together. If I could give 0 stars I would. The one star displayed will be credited and given to the bartender for checking on our tables and suggesting sides/sauces for our dishes. read more

Just seems to get worse. Being tuesday nothing else open in town. ordered my standard, a burger. Waited and waited. Table next to me, seated after me, got their food. Table across from me, also seated after me, got their's. Suddenly, from around the corner and arm placed a plate in front of me. Never saw the body, just am arm. No "is there anything else?" No "here's your damn food". Nothing. Just a plate thrown in front of me. Sorry to say, this time the burger was over cooked and cold. The fries were cold. Really bummed out with this Bar and Grill representing Alyeska. Friends and I were excited to grab a drink after a long day on the slopes and were questioned about our I.D.s repeatedly when we first arrived. Our service was very poor... we asked for two drinks to be made over after they came out obviously very wrong and very watered down. Toward the end of our night when we asked to grab our checks, the server ignored our request to have our 5 drinks split between the 5 of us and when we asked again, the server was visibly annoyed with us. We didn't feel welcomed, and left very confused as to what just happened. read more

We eat here every time we stay at the hotel. The pizza is amazing and not very expensive. We usually order one and take it back to the room. This time we also tried the Kobe burger and the Classic Alfredo with shrimp. Both of those were delicious as well. The pasta seems like it's made in house and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The burger was large. I like Ab&g more than chair 5. It is the same kitchen as room service so we always call in the order and then pick it up ourselves as it shaves about 20 minutes off of the wait time. read more

We originally had reservations for Seven Glaciers but the Tram was closed due to wind. The restaurant area was full, but there was plenty of seating in the bar area and it was still a tame environment. For my entree, I had Wagyu steak, rosemary potatoes, and grilled asparagus. It was all very good and it was nice that we weren't short-changed in the food department. Our server was fun and on top of it. We were there getting seated around 7:30 on a Sunday eve. Overall a very good meal and the good service made it easier to swallow missing out on our first visit to Seven Glaciers. I can respect that they closed the Tram for safety reasons. read more
