Stop hear for late lunch with a couple of friends after spending a few days at Prince William Sound fishing on the way back to Anchorage. We all ordered the cheeseburger, one with fries the other two with onion rings. We also ordered a basket of sweet tater tots that came with aioli sauce, great combination. Fairly adequate beer selection. Food was awesome, great service.

This small place is a great find as you leave or come into Anchorage. We have been here several times. It is almost a must when we drive through the area. The place si small, has pool tables. This place feels sin warm, and if clients were family. They have some events too and it's fun attending. I particularly like the decoration and weird things you can see there hanging. Food is prepared fresh and it is very good, too.

Called 1140p, still serving food and beer. They replied How far you out? 10min ! They kept the kitchen open for us. Amazing Hospitality

It's a fun little country bar in an area of Alaska that is starved for fun little country bars! (in my Alaska, they dot the Seward highway, all the way to...Seward) The only decent watering hole between Anchorage and Girdwood. No frills bar with friendly folk and cheap beer. You've probably driven by it a million times and not even noticed it. You should. You're thirsty. You deserve a beer. I've never had the food here, so I can't comment on that.

    Menu....simple but what we need!

We love the off the wall. We love the mom and pop places. We left with a sense of disappointment. We were greeted promptly and had drinks ASAP. Then we had to flag the server down for 1) another drink order and 2) a food order. My husband got the buffalo brat and I ordered the pizza. Hubby love the brat....I could probably swear on a stack on bibles that this was a frozen pizza and then she put canned mushrooms on top. I was able to eat just two slices. It truly was awful. Now the problem comes when the server FINALLY came to clear the table, looked at how much pizza was left but never asked what was wrong. Two hours later the brat made it's 2nd appearance. We just paid the bill....adjusted the tip accordingly and left. I would suggest just drinking here.

Driving back to Anchorage form the peninsula this place is a must stop. This stop, we were treated from an awesome jam session from a keyboardist. Nice rocky synth feel. Also a world class doggo that has perhaps the best begging skills I've seen from a dog. Beers are good, service is humorous and friendly!

As far as bars go, with low expectations of bar food, this place gets 5 stars. Located in Indian the bar sits right off the highway. The interior is dimly lit with the walls and ceiling covered in personalized dollar bills. The beers range from microbrews to shwag, along with a full bar. There is a small menu filled with burgers, brats, pretzels, and even a corn dog. I got the buffalo brat with fries for $6.50 and my friend got a corn dog for $2.50. Cheap eats! And for the record the food was good. The bartender is the owner, is personable and friendly, and hosts bands when he can. There is an outdoor patio for dancing under the midnight sun during the summer.

My boyfriend and I spent two and a half days hiking and kayaking in Resurrection Bay. We were starving and couldn't wait to get back to Anchorage for dinner and this place looked interesting. We are so glad we stopped! Finally, a real local bar to relax in! The bartender was great with recommendations and conversation. He kept the cold beer coming to us. He offered to take a picture of us also and recommended more off the beaten path places to visit. The other bartender was super friendly and we realized she lived in our home state for a while. The decor was all great humor and followed the legend of leaving a dollar bill behind. I had the buffalo brat and he had a burger. The brat was so good we are going to the local brat supplier when they open tomorrow.

When we got there we were brought to our seats. It was a long shared table for everyone. It seems as they were lacking some preparation, there wasn't a course menu on the table so you had zero idea of what you were about to be served. The first course came out, a carrot soup with an IPA. The IPA didn't come out for at least 5 minutes after the soup was out. Definitely some lag time there. Carrot soup 3/5 The short rib with golden yukon mashed potatoes was next with the caison which was amazing both the beer and the food. Short rib 5/5 The dessert was an interesting dark chocolate cake with burnt marsh mellow frosting situation. It was very dense and a large portion. I would have enjoyed the cake if it was fluffy and light after the big short rib entree. Dessert 3/5 The service was good overall, it was cool to have the brewers sit next to us and chat with them about beer. I think there's some work that could be done here at these events for the price of the tickets but overall the experience was very nice.

The servers seemed a little new, but the service was good and friendly. They carry Frontier brand sodas which we found to be excellent for their flavor. We got root beer and ripe raspberry soda. I ordered the Chili AK Salmon Bowl which our server confirmed is wild salmon. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with fries. Both meals were really good. I especially liked the sauce on the salmon bowl so much so that I asked for a little more only to be charged for the extra sauce. I also noticed they include a service charge on the bill (note that this was not gratuity). They told us it was to help them get seasonal labor and to cover overhead. Maybe this is an Alaska thing, but with menu prices as high as these, why would you need to add a service charge? Pricing and nickel & diming aside, I would recommend this place.

Other staff walked right past us without so much as a "someone will be right with you," which set a pretty uncomfortable tone right off the bat. We eventually got seated, but even with the restaurant being pretty empty it still took a while before a server showed up to the table. Our server wasn't rude or anything, but the energy was just completely flat. It felt like he could not care less about being there. Sodas got refilled once the entire night. Between being seated and appetizers, and again between appetizers and our entrees, he was basically nowhere to be found. The thing that really got me was being asked if we wanted boxes while our plates were still full and we were just sitting there having a conversation, never once offering to top off our drinks until we finally asked. It's a shame because the food really was solid and the restaurant itself has a nice warm vibe to it. ORSO clearly has a lot going for it and on a different night with more attentive service it could easily be a 4 or 5 star experience. For now it's hard to rate it higher than a 3 when the service makes what should be a really nice dinner feel like an afterthought.

I'd been longing to come here based on highly rated reviews, how it looks from the exterior, with lights strung around the deck, however, we always seemed to arrive on a day when they're closed. Yesterday (a Saturday) they were actually open, so it was a toss up between here, and "the other restaurant in Hope, that also has live music, outdoor seating and a stunning view" come on, you know where I mean. We opted for this as we were pulling a trailer, and the parking lot is bigger, and we didn't wanna find a camping spot then come back to eat, or I would have literally starved. Upon entering the dining room (no-one was eating inside there) it felt much more like a bar atmosphere, which put me off a little. I'd previously assumed it was a restaurant that sold alcohol, but it seems more of a bar that sells food to me now. Anyway, we chose to eat outside. Selected a table, chose what we wanted - Captain's Basket for me, Reuben for him. I asked for Coke no ice, and server told me "oh we don't have any ice anyway" which, frankly doesn't bother me as I'm English. In England, ice does not come as default. The coke can was chilled from the fridge though. Baskets came out quite quickly. There were 2 small pieces of breaded rockfish, 1 was nicely cooked, the thinner piece was a little over. Maybe 7 or 8 battered shrimp - definitely on the bouncy, chewy side, and the batter a little greasy, as though the oil hadn't quite got up to temperature, and they'd been in there a little long. The Crab Cake was divine though, I'd have eaten a whole plate of them. It was big, round, breaded, with a sauce drizzled over the top.mi love crab cakes, and this was my favourite I've had in a long while. My tartare sauce portion cup wasn't very full, and man I absolutely love the stuff, I like fries dipped in tartare, but after I'd eaten the shrimp, there was barely a smear left. Fries were good and crispy, and you know how much I love my fries. The music was far enough away that it did not interrupt our conversation, and provided a pleasant backdrop, on a sunny evening, however there was a woman sitting on the table to the right of me, who seemed to think that everyone wanted to hear the details of her life, and talked loud enough to interrupt our meal. That is obviously not the fault of Creekbend Cafe, and does not affect my rating of them. She was just annoying and obnoxiously loud. I would come back, I'd probably try something else but on the whole it was a pleasant enough meal, in a pretty setting.

It features a blend of barstool window seats, barstool bar seats, high-top tables, and standard-height tables. We went for a very late lunch, which made the quick food delivery and yet under-attentive service a little perplexing. Having spent last summer in London, the attraction at TCT for us was comparing and contrasting Alaska Halibut Fish & Chips with the British fare. I wanted to like the Tent City offering; I really did not. For the price ($28/ea), we got three modest pieces of fish and the equivalent of two servings of chips. Both the fish and the chips were mushy (undercooked), with a heavy batter finish in contrast with the light and crisp British offering. The accompanying tarter sauce was an odd raspberry-and-blackberry concoction that my family and I called a pickle aftertaste. The presentation, for the price and the atmosphere, was a confusing combination of a metal basket lined with wax paper (like a 1950's drive-through), plastic water and soda glasses (like a college cafeteria), and real silverware. Other reviews have high praise for TCT so, on our next visit to Alaska, it will be good to give them another try. The bones of this establishment are in place for a really special experience, but, today, for me, it was just "ok."

Our table had the following: 6 oysters Rockefeller, 1 fried calamari, a half size blackened halibut Cesar salad, a grilled ribeye steak and an Alaskan halibut fish and chips. Food notes: the oysters were super fresh and delicious, perfectly cooked so that they were only broiled on top and still almost rare below. However the toppings could've been improved with better bacon, and maybe a touch more spinach. Even a small dollop of Béarnaise sauce would've been better than the Parmesan. Nevertheless this was probably my favorite bite of the night. The halibut on the fish & chips was also fresh flaky and really tender. The chips were like thin steak fries that had been battered but were still under seasoned. They weren't great, and no one ate them even our toddler who loves fries. The blackened halibut on the salad was tougher, and dry. There were too many store-bought croutons and the salad dressing was possibly store-bought too and bland for a Cesar. The ribeye was totally sad. It was quite thin and unimpressive especially for the cost. It came with more of those dismal fries and some plain broccolini. Our steak-loving dinner companion only ate about half and didn't care to doggy-bag the rest so it went to waste. Calamari was average, and came with two oily amateur-chef looking sauces, one mayo flavored and one somewhat spicer was basically the same as the first. Our excellent waiter mixed up a cocktail sauce himself that blew the other sauces out of the water. Bravo to him. He was the best while waiting on us also, quick to refill a water or retrieve more drinks from the bar. Good thing the Rockefeller was great, I'd be back for that alone ($6/per oyster) but otherwise I don't think I'd rush back to Fletcher's. Many other eateries in the area that are tastier, with equally difficult parking.
