My goodness this place is wonderful! I have been so excited to check it out, but sometimes that means I get my hopes up too high and can get disappointed. But I'm happy to report, I liked it even more than I had hoped I would! Which is a whole lot! I came by on my own on Friday. I just happened to be out, be hungry, and realized this would be perfect. I got right in, and was promptly brought a delicious, piping hot cup of Hoboken coffee with cream and sugar. I had the egg and cheese biscuit, added bacon, and added a side of fruit. The sandwich was perfect: crispy on the outside, soft and flaky on the inside, with a hot slice of cheddar, perfectly prepared egg and seasoned, crispy bacon. The fruit can only be described as first date fruit - everyone's dressed up, on their best behavior, no one's letting anything yucky or sloppy show. Every single piece of fruit: kiwi, strawberry, blackberry, raspberry - everything was perfect. My two favorite things in this world are exposed brick and hoboken coffee and this place has plenty of both. Aurora is exactly what The Plaza district has needed. Described as a "grab and go" coffee and breakfast spot, I dropped by on my way to work. I got three coffees in under two minutes and was well on my way to work with the perfect cup of Guthrie's Hoboken coffee. There are few places in the city blessed enough to have Hoboken, and Aurora is now one of them! What a treat for Gatewood residents! I didn't have a chance to grab a baked treat, but they looked absolutely delicious. Unlike a few other coffee shops around town, the atmosphere of Aurora is no where near pretentious. Great new breakfast/lunch/brunch spot in the plaza district. We went around 2pm on a Sunday and waited about 20mins for a table. Just enough time to order a carafe of Sun King (bubbles, chambers, pineapple juice) - yummy and would def order again! I had the Pulled Pork Hash with fruit and my hubs had the Egg & Cheese Biscuit with hash. We both walked away very full and very happy. I couldn't finish my plate - it is a hearty size portion (for this girl anyway). The side of fruit was a pleasant mix of blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries. My hubs tried to order a pastry but they were completely sold out of all the pastries at that hour. Front desk girls were pleasant and our server was mediocre but got the job done. The server that had the table next to us was amazing and we learned more from listening to him talk to his guests then we did from ours. The prices seemed fair for the area/quality and we will definitely be back again! read more

I had chai tea and the Veggie Slider (Housemade mushroom & oat patty, toasted challah bun, caramelized peppers, fresh greens, pesto aioli, Batista cheese) with the potato cabbage hash. The slider had well balanced flavors that married well and had my taste buds singing. I recommend it for anyone, vegetarian or non-vegetarian. They're not lying when they say the biscuits are yummy. My friend had a mocha and the Plaza Jam (Applewood bacon, whipped cream cheese, scrambled egg, heirloom tomato jam) with the potato cabbage hash. So walk the block and explore the sweet shops. Or stop and see some mid century furniture. Love the avocado toast. Favorite is Lox Toast whipped cream cheese, Norwegian smoked lox, capers, cucumber, lemon aioli. on toasted rye. $14 is a little high when you include tip. Hours are limited to lunch and brunch. If you avoid earlier times and arrive after 9 am I have got a seat fairly quickly. They do not take reservations. And personally would not take a larger group then 4 persons. My friend and I came here on a Friday morning to enjoy a nice breakfast together, and that is just what we got when we stepped into Aurora. This was one of the few places in the Plaza District that I hadn't had a chance to dine at yet, so I was very excited to give it a try. The food: While everything here was pretty tasty, it really didn't live up to my expectations. The food came out hot and had good flavor, but it just wasn't anything special. This is why I docked a star from what would have been a 5 star review. We split a lemon blueberry scone (which in my opinion was the best part of the meal) and also shared the creme brûlée grapefruit. Both were yummy, but the scone was perfect. Other than that, the rest of the food was just ok. I got the Knife and Fork for my meal and was a little disappointed. The gravy was a tad too salty for my taste, and the fruit bowl I ordered as a side had a couple of pieces of moldy fruit. Talk about a bummer, because I was looking forward to some amazing seasonal berries. I did order a lavender rose latte which I thought was pretty amazing. But I will order it without the lavender bud presentation next time. They are super pretty, but when they get in your mouth, it's almost way too overpowering on the lavender flavor. Plus the texture is pretty off putting. The atmosphere: this place was flat out adorable every direction you look. From the signs, to the little pastry display case and the gorgeous shelving behind the bar top counter, it was absolute perfection. I seriously need to know who did their interior design so I can hire them! The service: really great service! Our server was friendly and our food came out quickly and was hot! I saw this place last week while having drinks with friends in the Plaza. It is breakfast/lunch/brunch only. Came back the next Saturday to give it a try. He location is great. They have a sidewalk and courtyard patio as well as indoor seating. The staff was friendly, helpful and engaged. The menu this was brief but well thought out offering something for everyone and incorporating mostly locally sourced high quality ingredients. The daily special was a Mediterranean Scramble. It was great and the portion was more than I could finish. Aurora offers a selection of morning cocktails which I will have to sample on another occasion. DISAPPOINTED- I have been coming to Aurora since it opened, and it was at the top of my favorite brunch spots list in OKC. If you work at Aurora, please read this and pass it along for the greater good! Since last fall, the potato cabbage hash has not been great, and inconsistent. Aurora has one of THE BEST gravies around - it's amazing. To top that off, they had an amazing signature side item, the potato cabbage hash. The potatoes were baked to perfection, soft, and blended well with the cabbage. Now, the potato cabbage hash has turned into overly crispy potatoes with a few bits of cabbage thrown in... If i wanted french fries, I would have ordered them. This is a big rant for a side item, but it pains me when restaurants don't stay consistent with their product. Is it laziness from the kitchen? I don't know, but it's all types of wrong. As a lover of that hash, and all things Aurora, it puts a downer on my meal when those crispy potato fries show up on my plate. Went to Aurora for breakfast to get my day going. It's brand new, so I felt the need to try it. I ordered the vegetable frittata with cabbage/potato hash (my Irish heart NEEDED it) and a Moroccan mint tea. Very tasty, the textures were fantastic, and the flavors were spot on. I loved the added pesto, it was fresh and herbaceous, with three different herbs and walnuts. It arrived quickly and was nice and hot, which on a cold day, like today, is wonderful. The staff were very pleasant, timely, and helpful, but not overly attentive. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable and there was a cute back patio with a kids teepee to play in that looked fun for family brunches. All in all a wonderful start to a dreary day. read more

Possibly more of a fork and knife sandwich. The caramelized bacon was a great addition to the sandwich. French toast was slightly crispy and sweet. Perfect combo in my opinion! I love eating at Aurora, but haven't been in awhile. They've changed some of their options quit a bit, including their avacado toast (what I got today); unfortunately, they changed it for the worst. The toast use to be much thicker and the avacado use to be paired with delicious onions, greens and dressing. I remember when I first saw the sign for a Bar/Backyard place, and was immediately intrigued and made a mental note to get there. Finally, I have gone, and immensely enjoyed, my first Aurora experience. This space is absolutely gorgeous, light-filled, and spacious (especially in the Plaza!). It just seems to go on forever, but doesn't feel crowded or too narrow. I was immediately seated early on a Sunday morning, but it was filling up quickly by the time I left. There are some seats at the bar, but seating is primarily tables. The staff was super friendly, and very welcoming, without being overboard. Sometimes when I dine alone, I feel like people feel sorry for me? (I don't know why...I am out eating a delicious meal in SILENCE. GLORIOUS PEACE.) The service here was on point. I ordered a chocolate milk (no apple juice :( ), and a water was provided as well. The chocolate milk was deliciously rich, and the perfect accompaniment to breakfast. For my entree, I had the Pork n Biscuit. I was impressed from the moment it was placed on the table. It was so tasty! The pork was tender and juicy, the biscuit was hot and fluffy...however. One (minor!) complaint that could be easily resolved. The sandwich was dry around halfway through eating. There was only a relatively small dollop of hollandaise on the sandwich, and it could have used quite a bit more. Biscuits can get very dry, and this one was particularly hefty, so halfway through it was pretty dry. I am certain if I had asked for more sauce I would have gotten some with no hesitation...but I always hate being a bother, so next time I will just ask for more on the side! The potato-cabbage hash had what I would call a preference issue. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and tasty...but they had no crisp on the outside. I prefer my potatoes nice and crispy...but others may feel differently! Overall though, these are two very minor things about an otherwise exceptional place. I hope they plan to do dinner soon, because I bet it would be amazing as well. Definitely, absolutely, recommend! read more

This is a regular Sunday brunch spot for my boyfriend and I. The customer service and food is the reason for the 2 stars. We sat at the bar were we was greeted immediately by our waitress. Made us some delicious lattes, took our order, tended to us often she was great!! The three stars missed is due to watching Tara not practicing good hygiene. In a post Covid world, we all should be mindful. We sat and observed her touch several parts of her body; hair, rubbing belly underneath shirt, her ear, fingers on mouth. She would then wipe her hands on a used towel she had stuck in her pants then began to make her drink and use those same hands to place garnish inside drinks. She have GREAT customer service skills!! Not only her we also observe a male cleaning glassware with a visibly used tarry cloth towel that hung on the handle of the coolers, which leaves lint, he was also seen rubbing the towel against his clothes as he cleaned the glass. All these things would fail if health inspectors was involved!!! We hope these things can be trained and corrected ASAP. We love this place!!!!! Cleanliness is next to GodlinesS!!! read more

My friends and I had brunch here on Sunday morning. It was busy but we were sorted quickly inside. The serve was good and our waitress was sweet. We all ordered drinks before our meals which were alright. I got a Bloody Mary which was a little spicy (I love spicy) but the only garnish was a slice of lemon and lime. I am just used to a pickle or celery maybe an olive? My friends got mimosas which tasted just like champagne and no OJ. The food was good and tasted really fresh. Giving three stars because overall it was just okay. The service speed was a little more relaxed than I prefer. People seated after us got their coffee order before us. I got the plaza jam it was very good. My husband got the pulled pork hash. His potatoes were undercooked and the eggs were supposed to be sunny side up and were hard and not runny at all.
