Went over the weekend and if I could give this place ZERO stars I would. Absolutely horrendous customer service. Zero professionalism. The old WAITER will grab his OWN GLASS and DRINK wine from a BOTTLE which YOU are PAYING for. Did we allow it? Absolutely NOT. It was quite disappointing. We were both shocked. Will NEVER be returning back. Don't come unless you want the waiters taking part of your dinner :). He might come and lick the spaghetti right off your plate. Finally he will flush it down with your wine :) HORRIBLE. read more

This was probably the worst dining experience of our 6 years in the Bay Area. We were made to sit outside because of our service animal. It took 20 minutes for a server to speak to us though we had a reservation. The server came back to double check our order and still did not bring out the correct order. A gem of a restaurant at the south end of Sausalito. I've eaten at all the restaurants in town, and have forgotten about Aurora since I never drive by. Since December we've been back four times. Yes, it's that good. Thursday night they have a guitar player singing Brazilian songs. What a treat. The main courses are served with perfectly cooked veggies, mashed potatoes, and bread served at no charge. We've had the fish, eggplant and chicken parmigiana, and pasta dishes (which do not include vegetables). But you get a plate full of pasta. Great wait service too. Really wish we came here sooner. We lived in Marin for a few years now and finally got around to eating at this little gem. The music and ambience were classy yet casual. Our waiter was very attentive and welcoming. We got the gluten free carbonara and gluten free pepperoni pizza. We were blown away. Best GF pasta and pizza we've ever had. It may not be fair to judge on a delivery order. But my eggplant parmigiana was an undercooked slab of eggplant in a tasteless sauce. The accompanying vegetables were very good (which was lucky since they forgot to include our Caesar salad) but the odd serving of what appeared to be green mashed potatoes was just strange. Pasta arrabiata was okay per my daughter. At these prices just not good enough. read more

We stumbled upon this place because the kids wanted some fettuccini alfredo. All the pasta here was delicious and exceeded expectations! Comforting to eat what we were craving. Delicious pasta, fresh seafood, fabulous little pizzas. Highly recommend linguine pescatore and papardelle bolognese.

My husband and I were looking to take my son, his wife, and their very young, not so patient 3 year old and newborn on his 40th birthday to a place that was child friendly but had delicious food, and a good selection of wine and a nice atmosphere. This was all of that and more.. The staff rolled out the red carpet so to speak. We were greeted at the door with happy faces!!! Everyone was so kind even after my grandson spilled a glass of wine all over the newly table clothed table..they gladly replaced the wine..I can't go into detail about all that we ordered because it's been awhile since we have all eaten there but everyone was extremely happy with what they ordered. We brought in our own dessert but they came out to help with singing "Happy Birthday". We shared our cake with the staff!! It was a fun evening!! A nice little gem away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Sausalito. We asked to be sat outside and they were nice enough to open up the umbrella on the patio. We started off with the calamari, I loved how they offer salt and pepper for you to seasoned the calamari yourself. It was light and crispy and not oily at all. My 7 year old polished half the order. Entrees were ravioli with pollo, the seafood pasta, the clam pasta with white sauce and the kids wanted pizza. The ravioli with chicken was delicious with the cream sauce with mushrooms, spinach and sun dried tomatoes, it was so good that I used the bread to sop up the sauce to eat it. The seafood pasta was delicious as well, they give you so much seafood, I felt like I wanted to eat another order of the delicious pasta. The clam pasta was delicious as well per my family member, they loved that the clams were roasted. Pizza were devoured by the kids. Truly a nice little gem in this neighborhood, will be back. read more

4.5 stars! The eggplant appetizers were different, never had anything like it, good texture and flavors! The bolognese was perfect, the sauce was flavorful and the tagliatelle tasted freshly made and absorbed all the goodness of the sauce. My salmon dish was delish, salmon was cooked perfectly, I can tell the fish was fresh. The beef marsala wasn't good, the beef was overcooked and the sauce was bland, I never liked marsala but hubby likes it and he was not impressed. Bread pudding was the star of the night! The bread had form but was soft at the same, it was not mushy or soggy, the caramel sauce...so buttery and the light vanilla ice cream helped balanced out the richness of the dessert, will be coming back! read more

I'm sadly tiring of this restaurant taking over an hour to prepare food for one to two people. It's across the street so it's convenient; however, three times now I've stupidly waited WAY too long. The first two was just take out pasta for myself - those each took just over an hour. The last time was an hour and 35 mins for two pastas and a salad. Their automatic text service says they will text when it's ready and they do not. On top of it all, the food isn't worth the wait. It would be nice to have a good, dependable place across the street but luckily better food isn't far away. read more

Our favorite Italian spot in all of the bay area. We've been coming here for years and enjoy it every single time. As an Italian myself, I can tend to be picky, but Aurora never disappoints. Cesar is an amazing owner and manager, and does his best to create an authentic Italian dining experience. This neighborhood gem could be right out of Naples, Italy, with the quality and taste of their food. We typically go for the pasta dishes, but enjoy everything on the menu. Recommend the clam linguine with white sauce, the carbonara, and the gnocchi bolognese. Cesar salad is amazing, as is the calamari. Would rate 10 stars out of 5 if I could. read more

I dined here a few weeks ago with a couple of friends. Was excited to have some pizza after a long and tiring hike. We ordered calamari, arugula salad, pizza with seasonal vegetables, and seafood pasta. Let me start off with the pizza. I was honestly confused after my first few bites. Was I just delirious from the hike? Could they really be serving me frozen pizza? The dough, without a doubt, had the texture, taste, and smell of frozen pizzas you buy at the supermarket. You know that weird aftertaste? Yep. The only time I've had pizza that bad is possibly in a cafeteria, but honestly even that is better. When I brought it up to the staff, they said that they have a new chef who is in charge of making the dough. I really doubt this. There are other reviews here speculating that the pizza is frozen. It just can't be that bad otherwise. The toppings were terrible as well. Cheese wasn't fresh. Nothing seasonal about the vegetables, just your standard bell pepper and onion. Their menu is completely misleading. They did comp the pizza and gave us a free dessert, but it was still upsetting after waiting to outdoor dine in Sausalito for such a long time. The other food was ok at best. The arugula salad was a miss because it had hardly anything but arugula. Barely any goat cheese or other ingredients. Ok pasta and calamari. I hope they address these issues and begin to serve people higher quality foods. read more

I would say this was the worst dining experience I've ever had in my entire life but I wasn't even able to dine there after making a reservation a week in advance that's how incompetent they are.... I make a 7pm reservation a week before Valentine's Day and we show up 10 minutes early. Already a small group has formed near the host stand. By the time 7 rolls around the 6:45 reservation next to us still hasn't been seated. We understand it's valentines and it's busy and we score two seats at the bar. 7:15 the 6:45 people are seated and maybe 15-20 people are now waiting at the host stand. 7:30 rolls around and there's a crowd of 30 people waiting. We speak to people at the bar and two groups also have a reservation at 7. 7:45 rolls around and my girlfriend goes to check with the host and he's no where to be found and now a patron has his list and is passing it around. She sees there are still 2 names in front of us and we leave. The worst part was just how the workers did not care whatsoever. There were no apologies no organization no professionalism or anything just blatant incompetence. They overbooked their restaurant and did not give a crap how much it inconvenienced people on what should be a special night. Don't ever eat here read more

I could not recommend this restaurant enough.. The owner Cesar, is so personable and friendly. He knew the locals by name, and really made the experience wonderful. For food, we ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer, my husband ordered the pappardelle alla Bolognese, and I had the ravioli al formaggio. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert (pictured below).
