First visit to Aurora and we really enjoyed it. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and were seated right away. The restaurant was packed and had a great vibe. Terrific job on remodeling and decorating....its a beautiful place. We started with the tableside Caesar...one of the best we have had. Our entrees were veal parm and the bolognese both very good. Had such an amazing time here. Two of us Walked in at 5 pm on a Saturday and were sat at a high top immediately. The atmosphere here is so romantic and beautiful! I was in awe looking at the graphics on the wall. Our server and his assistant were very friendly, and attentive. They seemed to work well together. We got an espresso martini, Negroni, and I got a red wine. The truffle risotto was amazing! The truffles and mushrooms paired so well with each other. I also got the Aurora salad which was delicious. I could have even used a bit more lemon juice in my salad dressing but otherwise great. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken parm and we also got corn to split. When we got our check we found out it was happy hour! They have it everyday from 4-6! Which is great for a nice place like this. Next time I will check out the food items they have for the special. I would 100% recommend coming here. Get a drink and a meal for a discount and experience this place! read more

First and foremost I am a huge Italian food fan so when this opened in the west Bloomfield dining corridor I was so excited! This place is definitely seeking to offer a higher end experience and the ambiance inside is really nice and well decorated. The restaurant offers valet OR self parking options which I appreciate. It is located on orchard lake just past 15 mile near La Marsa / that plaza. When we got in, it was a very busy, buzzy style environment. It is spacious and has ample outdoor seating under a covered patio I believe. The aesthetics here alone are amazing and deserve a visit. The restrooms even are pretty glamorous even though there are only 2 stalls for women (cmon). They gave us complimentary bread when we first sat down which was served with some sort of amazing spicy chili aioli I believe. It was so delicious! We also ordered table side Caesar salad to start from the Chef who was super nice and it was pretty epic to have him making our salad fresh in front of us. The salad was also delicious. For the main course I ordered the spicy rigatoni and that was amazing. The service here was really good/ everyone was nice and friendly and happy to be serving us. The cocktails were good too. I would definitely come back as the food here is truly delicious. My only complaint is it can be loud in here with the music (club type atmosphere on a Friday) and a little dim in the restaurant also. read more

Everything was wonderful here! From the welcoming valet, to the inside hostess & management... Our waitress "Kim" was very attentive, & just the sweetest! The ambiance is off the charts..I absolutely love the place.The bread & dipping oil was delicious. I had the Aurora Mediterranean salad. It was five star!!! From the ingredients to the dressing.We ordered the veal & requested artichokes and capers on it. I love that chef was open to fixing it that way. Absolutely delicious. I Can't wait to go back! First time, in the Aurora Italiana Restaurant with a group of friends. I ordered a pasta, and in my second bite I found a hair. I called the waitress, and I showed to him what I found in my plate. He immediately took away my plate and told me, the manager will be with me soon to talk about the problem. Well, I waited about 20 minutes, and finally a person shows up at my table. She apologizes for the inconvenience and put a new plate of the same pasta in front of me. She runs away fast, and I have no time to say that I don't want the food anymore. I didn't touch this second plate of the same pasta, due now I can not trust in the kitchen higiene. Years ago, I have same kind of problem in other restaurant, the manager apologized and asked me to choice what I would like to eat after the incident, and do not charged me. Well , I can pay my bill in any restaurant that I go, this is not a problem for me, but in Aurora Italiana Restaurant they show me, they don't deserve my trust. It shows lack of higiene care and they have no consideration for the client opinion. I will not return in this restaurant anymore! read more

I went to Aurora for a bridal party/shower and it was great. The staff were so accommodating and helpful. Service was great! The restaurant itself was beautiful. The food was really good and portions were on the larger side. We decided to split a few apps and a three entrees and it was plenty for six of us. The meatballs were delicious. The arancini were good - not too fried. Burrata was great, served with crostinis, tomatoes, and pesto - had a really fresh taste! The Caesar salad was fantastic! Loved the experience of having it made table-side! The entrees were all good but the stand out was the pasta carbone - everyone loved it (although some thought it had some heat to it). We got carry-out. Very disappointing, especially considering the prices. We had high hopes. We had heard wonderful things about this place. There were brown spots on the romaine lettuce. I visited Aurora tonight (Sunday 2/22) for the first time and it's been a long time since I was this impressed by a dining experience. Our Server Tony was soooo wonderful! We dined as a party of 7 for my friend's birthday and we all felt so welcomed and so well taken care of and that aspect alone I appreciated so much. Tony was pleasant from beginning to end, he talked about the special menu items for the evening, told us his personal favorites and immediately got the table going with drinks. I am in the early stages of pregnancy and I haven't been able to eat many things, when I expressed this to Tony he made sure to suggest the best mocktail and happily served me my Ceasar salad and fries lol. Everyone at our table throughly enjoyed their food, we all thought the presentation was amazing!! From the drinks to the appetizers, to our entrees, to our desserts every aspect was a 10/10! The manager came over to express his gratitude for our visit, spoke with us for a while, circled back and thanked us again, and surprised our friend with a special birthday dessert platter! We were truly blown away by the hospitality, as we are all in the industry as well having history as fine dining servers. I had made a reservation for two and were seated right away. The interior was breathtaking and it wasn't too loud either for how busy it was. Our server immediately greeted us and took our drink orders. He was very helpful in giving suggestions on what's good to order. I ordered the Mango Speziato which was non-alcoholic and was shocked at how amazing it tasted. We were given a plate of bread and oil but also ordered the Arancini Primavera which was served on a bed of tomato sauce. The plating was beautiful and it tasted just as good. I would definitely order it again. Our entrees came out not too long after and the pasta tasted amazing. The server joked with my friend because she made sure to finish every bite on her plate before giving it up to him. We ordered the Italian Fudge for dessert and the gelato was so smooth and tasted amazing. During our time there it was busy but didn't feel too crowded and were constantly entertained by the tableside Caesar Salad being made for other guests. Our server checked on us multiple times and it was appreciated yet not overwhelming. The manager at some point came to greet us as well and he was super nice. I had to add so much cheese just to make the sauce the consistency it should have been. We were there with maybe 13-14 women, none of us were really wowed by our meals. We had an evening with a party of four. We had a reservation and were promptly seated at a nice table with comfortable chairs. Our waitress was friendly and attentive without being stifling. She was knowledgeable about the menu and helpful in suggesting dishes. The room was a little bit loud, but otherwise the ambiance was fine. Every food and drink item was borderline exceptional. Absolutely not to be missed are the fried risotto ball appetizers. They're light but cheesy, which is a combination I can't believe is possible. Prices for dinner with drinks was under $75 per person, which is right where it ought to be for the level of experience. I was happy to try this restaurant in West Bloomfield. I will say getting into the restaurant was difficult as it was very busy and cars were lined up on Orchard Lake Road trying to get in. When I walked in the three hostesses that were standing made no eye contact or acknowledged that I walked in the door, which I thought was somewhat rude. Our waitress was great once we sat down. They were very accommodating to our group of nine people. Giuseppe came out and made our Caesar salad and he was a joy. The gnocchi was delicious and so fresh. The food was excellent. The Caesar salad prepared at the table was generous in size and delicious. Veal thin sliced, tender, and very flavorful. Other entrees for our party of five were also very good. Bread fresh and warm. Our server was very attentive and helpful. He gladly took some photos of us, gave a good Italian wine recommendation, and was friendly and personable. The ambience was nice. The chairs at our table were padded and very comfortable. Table side Caesar salad is a MUST, by far one of the best Caesar's I've had. The main courses were fantastic, the fish was cooked perfectly, pasta was spicy and had so much flavor. The restaurant itself is very elegant with a lively ambiance, the music was a little loud but I didn't mind it. I will start by saying the food here is fabulous and that is not the issue. Our issue was the service experienced this evening on 11/7. It started off with not being seated after we checked in for our reservation. A party of 6 was sat before us who checked in after and their party wasn't even there. The restaurant was pretty empty so it felt a little off--but no big deal. Our server Wakemur (not the name given but that is what's on the receipt) unfortunately set the tone for the remainder for the meal--my husbands birthday celebration (which was noted for the reservation but never acknowledged). When our two guests joined us they weren't greeted. One of our guests has celiacs and any questions were met with irritation. We ordered the table side Caesar which was not table side--it was across the restaurant. We ordered a bottle of wine which wasn't re-poured once. My husband and one of our guests ordered steaks which came out on plates so hot that our guests fingers got burnt when it was put down and they couldn't eat their steaks it was so hot and overcooked. The server didn't come to check on the food for a solid 20 minutes which would've been nice considering my husbands steak was overcooked, the wrong side was given, and one of guests pasta had chicken in it which wasn't ordered. We had to ask for water and to order more cocktails which irritated our server and we felt like we were such an inconvenience to him. Every time our friend with celiacs asked him something it was met with attitude. One time his question got ignored--which I'm hoping was because of the music? We even had to call him over for the check after waiting for half an hour. Auroras food really is outstanding and normally I'd chalk it up to being understaffed or being busy but that wasn't the case tonight. We had a clear vision of him standing by the computers chatting. Not a great way to spend a birthday. I should note the manager was darling and checked on us--but our server would pop up just when he would come around so never a chance to let him know the issues. read more

Definitely felt very rushed to order eat and leave, we would have actually ordered another dessert but waiter brought the bill before we even asked. I went for my birthday thinking a wonderful experience would be had, been to sexy steak a handful of times, but Aurora fell short in every category, the food was ok but the service was not up to par, I expected the server to be able to suggest he could not, he was a clerk not a salesperson which a good server is, but the topper when my best friend asked him to sell us dessert he read one item from a small piece of paper then dropped in front of my fiancée then walked away, terrible, I review restaurants but didn't take the time on this venue.
