Could not of asked for better service. From the receptionist to the work crew and everyone in between these were great people to do business with. They were recommended by our landscape architect and we could not be more pleased with the results. The bid was competitive, they showed up when they said they would, cleaned up every day, completed the project on time and the work was impeccable. After project was completed supervisor came by for quality control and discovered a leak in our watering system that was very hard to detect. Sent his crew back to repair. Highly recommend!! After a lengthy and expensive several months of trying to work with Manuel Soto, he began to refuse to accept phone calls and refused to honor any guarantee associated with his work even in the first year. Manuel's crew installed new backyard landscaping consisting of a new sprinkler system, rock drainage way, metal edging to contain mulched, significant planted areas and low voltage area lighting. We never got promised drawing or details on the sprinkler system and do not know how valve boxes receive water or what areas they control. Water use is high and ineffective in many areas and excessive in others. Having designed and installed Toro sprinkler systems with matched precipitation rates for the entire yard, it is easy for me to see that the system designed under Soto is inferior and wasteful. We had a design done to redo our front yard. Manuel was very helpful when he came to the house and offered some suggestions and said he understood what we were looking for. When the design and quote arrived, it was much more extensive than we wanted to do, way out of our budget and included some plants we didn't care for. I asked for some revisions to be done and gave him a tentative budget since he never asked for that in the first round. I never heard back. The impression I got by their lack of response was our job wasn't big enough to be bothered to reply and come do the work. read more

If I could of rated this company Zero Stars I would. Poor workmanship, got brick work around garden and tree they put the wrong color, luck I came home in time to have them corrected their mistake. A few months after completion, brick started to come apart at the joints, this was due to it not being leveled. call them back, they wanted to charge me to fix problem. After a few months I paid to fix, the same damn thing happened in the same place. I called, u guessed right, they wanted to charge me. After complaining and threaten to give them a bad rating, I got a text from someone at the company promising to repair at no cost. The crew that did our landscaping project was really at the top of their game. Those four guys worked their tails off and did not stop until their days were well into 10 + hours in 100 + degree weather. Everything they did was right, looked professionally done and I have no doubt will last for many, many years. All my contact was with Marshall almost 3 months in advance of the project starting and they arrived on time the day we were ready, just as he promised. It's really the details that make some companies stand out from the rest and these guys hit that mark right on target. They have been here for four days so far and every single day they cleaned up their mess, including my front yard and street and they were the only ones that cared about doing this during our entire project. We had Austin Gardeners build us an outdoor kitchen recently. We could not be any more pleased. The owner, Manuel was attentive to our plans and gave us a quote. It was between the two other quotes we had from other companies. Manuel told us his number 1 goal was to make us happy with his company. The workers were craftsman in their perspective fields. We had quite a bit of rock and concrete work done. The wood work is beautiful with the beams, cabinetry and accent woodwork all complimenting each other. We started with Michelle at Red Sun Landscape Design. She created a beautiful design for our yard (back yard, both sides, and front yard). The design transformed dead space along the sides into several gorgeous yet functional zones, making our yard seem larger than before. Manuel and is crew at Austin Gardeners made it all come to life. Every one on his crew was knowledgeable and fully capable. They had to know a lot about many aspects of garden landscape to build out every aspect of Michelle's design which included custom-made trellises, a fountain, dozens of lueder stone tiles (surrounded with beautiful black stones), a gate added to our wrought-iron fence, upscale lighting throughout, two areas of sod with above-ground sprinklers, and many flowers, plants, bushes and trees in multiple flower beds with drip-irrigation. Manuel and his staff were all very helpful and professional whenever we had questions or concerns. They cleaned up every night before going home. The final clean-up was also impeccable. My back yard is on a slope and it was a mess; I lost grass in the drought, made worse by grub worms and my dogs. Then I had erosion and the dirt was shifting which means I needed to build my yard back up and have drainage included. I got several estimates and so happy that I found Austin Gardeners. My wife and I hired Austin Gardeners to landscape our front yard. They did an outstanding job, and we couldn't be more pleased. We worked with Michelle and Red Sun to create the plans and then met with Manuel to execute. They have been working together for 10+ years and are a great team for design and implementation. The crew spent about 6 days at our home. They were courteous, hardworking, and skilled. They left the job site clean each day. There is really no limit to what they can do! They poured concrete, cut/welded metal edging, and built a gate + small fence. They reworked our irrigation system and even programmed it. We just completed a major landscaping project in Steiner Ranch to correct some drainage issues between our house and the neighbors' houses as there is significant runoff during heavy rains. We were the second owners of the house and the original builder installed bermuda and we had significant shade which resulted in a 30% - 40% loss of the original grass. Manuel and the team installed major sections of Colorado River rock to manage the areas that see high water runnoff. They removed all the old grass and installed Zoysia grass which should be better suited for the shaded yard. They did a great job and the final bill was very close to the original estimate. We could not be happier with the work. Manuel and his team were very professional and their work is truly outstanding. All of our neighbors are very jealous. Manuel was the only contractor to send us drawings and took the time to meet with us twice before we signed the contract. Any concerns or changes we had were answered with "whatever it takes to makes you happy." We were impressed with the office staff and their responsiveness, Manuel was always available by phone or text, almost all of the work was done by HIS crew rather than sub contractors (only the framers were subs for us). We found the contract signing process to be great (online document signing), their were people in the office to answer the phones and communicate with the guys or answer scheduling or billing questions. I also liked the fact that they owned their own equipment and didn't have to rent as it shows that they are a very established company. When we had a problem with a gate, Manuel came out personally so he could explain the guys how to properly fix it and it was done perfectly. My wife paid him the highest complement when she had questions, she would say "Trust in Manuel" and it was done to our standards. We cannot recommend them enough. read more

I hired Austin Gardeners back in March 2013 to landscape the front of my house, they showed up as agreed and did a good job landscaping my front yard. So I call Manuel the owner recently to refresh my front yard again as I had several dead plants and needed new mulch put in, when I talked to Manuel, I asked him if he would do a small job for me, he said yes, this is where the 1 star rating comes from, so he never calls me back to set up an appt as he said he would, I then had to call him SEVERAL times over SEVERAL days until he finally decides to answer, he then made an appt with me and no call no showed! About a month passes, Austin Gardeners send me a friends request on Facebook, I accept it, I then msg Manuel on FB, hey I never heard back from you about the work I wanted done, he says, do you still need the work done and I reply yes, so I made another appt with him and I jokingly tell him, are you sure you are going to show up this time because you did not last time and he says yes. Our appt time was set for 6pm the following week, so on our appt day, 6 rolls around, then 7, then 8, I call him to see where he is at as I was waiting on him for hours and no answer, so I left my house cause I was tired of waiting on him and figured he pulled another no call no show on me, so he calls me about 8:30 asking me where I was at saying that he had been waiting at my house for me for over 30 mins, which was BS because I had just left my house 10 mins ago, and I tell him that, he then says oh maybe it was more like 15 mins I was waiting, so I go back home to meet up with him, I tell him what I want done, he then says he will email me or call me back with an estimate, which he never does again! I found this company to be completely unprofessional, extremely dishonest and the customer service poor. During one of the visits the fence post next to my gate was broken in half. The bottom portion of the board was completely broken off. Absolutely nothing was said to me about the damage and I only discovered the same when my dog got out of my backyard. I understand that mistakes happen and would have appreciated something being said so I could have placed a barricade around that area in order to keep my dog in the yard. During the winter months, my yard was dormant and no yard care was needed. The company continued to charge me for "mow and blow maintenance" even though there were no services performed as it was not necessary during the winter months as my grass had not grown in order for it to be mowed. Upon contacting their main office about the issue, my concerns were met with hostility and defensiveness. I even attempted to contact the owner, left him a voicemail which was never returned. I do NOT recommend this company!! read more
