First visit mid-week at lunch time. Sat at the bar for a couple beers with the intent of leaving with a takeout order. Initial impressions: - Nice spacious layout with a variety of seating arrangements, and traditional L-shaped bar on an elevated platform. - Friendly professional staff. - Comprehensive BBQ menu very-reasonably priced. - Super-fast takeout orders. - Adjacent to the Addison Airport and toll tunnel to Carrollton. They were doing a brisk lunch business, which is always a good sign. My combo meal (chopped beef sandwich, pinto and green beans) was above average. Realized later this is really a BBQ joint with a bar rather than a sports bar with a BBQ-oriented menu. Being from Memphis and New to Dallas food has been a challenge for me. Here I ordered the three meat plate and banana pudding. I was pretty disappointed as I have been often. My wife, mother, sister-in-law, and three kids walked in and sat at the high top to the right as that was the "full service" section clearly marked by the sign at the hostess station. She took our drink orders but never came back with them. Had the cook bring them all out instead. Said "I'm super busy" but had 4 people at her bar and no other customers. At the end of the meal and 4-5 snarky comments later I asked her "did we piss you off"? I stated "you've been acting like you didn't want us in here since we walked in". She started raising her voice stating she doesn't usually serve children in her bar (we were in the full service tables) and started yelling at us telling us we were wasting food. When I went here they were having a shortage of brisket so the price was increased for brisket. If you got a meat plate there was an up charge for getting brisket The also charge extra if you use a card vs if you use cash. If you have the cash use it and save some $$$. But it's not much 3.5% The brisket was good a little dry but was not tough at all very tender practically fell apart. Was good with some bbq sauce. I wish there were more fatty parts and more bbq (I got to go) but that's my preference. The Mac and cheese was very good. Nice and cheesy! The potato salad I found to be very bland. She yelled at us for wasting food when we didn't finish it. If she had been half decent I would have recommended her establishment as the food wasn't bad. Got the turkey and brisket plate with 2 sides, potato salad and baked beans. Turkey had good flavor but with it being turkey, you had to drench it with the warm bbq sauce they bring out with your order. We tried the beef three ways: moist, lean and burnt ends. The moist and burnt ends were our favorites. The staff here are very friendly and made us feel welcome. We ordered at the counter and the gentleman who took our order patiently explained everything to us. We proceeded to sit at the bar where Chad took good care of us and provided friendly conversation.
