Let me start out by saying this: everyone here is SO kind and professional. They also try their best to stay on top of appointment requests and communicating via email and phone to keep customers on top of their service needs--it was apparent that many people were coming here to fix the dirty work of other, lesser auto shops that may or may not have provided less expensive parts and labor costs. A "get what you pay for" service, I'm sure. In my experience, their pricing is very competitive and reasonable compared to other shops. They are also FAST! I've never had an oil change come out quicker than about an hour or so, and they knocked it out in 30 minutes exactly. One may think this speed is a possible sign of sloppy work, but it is clear from all employees this is a marker of obvious expertise and experience. I was able to knock out a full synthetic oil change on my 2013 Honda Civic for only $65 by using a $10 coupon. I've struggled finding a decent auto shop to trust with my vehicle (I work an hour away from home--Having my car fully functional is not just a want, but a need) and since leaving my home state, I haven't been able to depend on my dad to hook me up with service discounts anymore at his own shop. It's more than likely that the Buda location Austin's Automotive Specialists will be my "home" shop to trust for future repairs. Give them a shot! Never expected the true support we got from Russell and the team at the Buda, TX Austin Automotive. short story - MAJOR issue with the DEF system on my 2014 RAM. I had also scheduled an oil change. After diagnosing the issues he told me what it would cost. I explained that I had planned to trade in my truck at the end of the year (8 weeks away). He could have tried to convince me to fix it. That would have made them more money. Instead he told me that he thought with the age of the truck and what my plans were that it would be good to trade it in and let the dealership fix it as this would be cheaper for them to repair. OH AND he didn't do the oil change because, and I quote "I was worried this might be bad and I didn't want you to have to pay for an oil change on top of the expensive diagnostics we had to perform.". While it sucked for me, he didn't milk me. Then to add wonderful to the experience, he let me leave it there for two nights while I bought a new truck and got the dealership to tow it in for the trade in. My car had a flat tire. I called all the auto shops in the area to see what their wait time was because I had my toddler with me and he is a handful. They were polite over the phone and even more polite in person. The waiting area was clean and open with magazines and a book my son looked at. For oil changes and inspections it's fine. About two years ago I took my car. Was having problems when idling, rpms all over the place, car shaking and sputtering, etc. I got a tune up but my main concern was why it was doing this. The guy basically said they couldn't replicate the issue and said "everyone drives different" so maybe that's why. The issues weren't when I was driving it was when I was idling, you literally start the car and it does this. Fine whatever, I rarely drive my car. I brought it back a year later, now it's even worse and is stalling. The stalling was a new issue and not the main issue. They tell me I need a new oil separator. I don't know anything about cars but I know that was not the problem but I let them do it anyway for $200. What do I know?! They tell me to drive it for a few months and see if it still happens. It immediately happens. I live in kyle so by the time I was home it was obvious it was still happening. Took it to the dealership. My timing chain was stretch, needed a new tensioner, cam shaft, the works. It was very close to catastrophic engine failure. if they had listened to me about the issues maybe this place could have got the $3,000 I paid to have my car fixed. Instead they got $200 and no more of my business since they can't listen. read more

I had called telling them to inspect all my 4 tires because I saw that one of them had a frozen lug nut and the company I bought the tires from couldn't change my tires. If you guys record calls you can clearly hear me say to check all 4 wheels. I didn't have time so I told my dad to go drop off my car. Me feeling confident that they did their job and inspected all 4 wheels, to my surprise when the other company tried changing the tires, they found a frozen stud on another tire. I called Austin automotive back and the manager kept stating that my dad told them only to inspect 1 tire. First of all my dad doesn't even speak English and 2nd I talked to my dad and he said that they had someone translate but that the worker translating didn't even know how to speak fluent Spanish. I'm so upset that they did not do what I asked them to do. I now have to keep getting days off because I work 6 days a week and yall are closed on Sundays. Hopefully yall can hear the recorded conversations I had with them. Will not be coming back here. I wish they would have at least called me before they started doing the work if they couldn't communicate with my dad. read more

Wish I could give a negative number of stars. Took my car in fou an oil change. They took my keys and ignored me for 2 HOURS. When asked how much longer I would need to wait - they said another hour. Cost for the oul change? $90+. During the 2 hour wait an employee was consistently telling EVERY customer that no matter what the issue was with their vehicle, it was ALWAYS MUCH WORSE and repairs would always be$2000 - $4000 to fix. Guess they are trying to recoup their losses from the fire! read more

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR REPAIR... unless you like paying twice. Here is my story, 2 years ago they replaced my entire A/C in my car, we had after the initial fix we had to bring the car back 3 times as it still was not blowing cold after 2 compressors and a full a/c kit and 2000.00 dollars later, it was blowing, cool, but we were tired of dealing with them at the time. fast forward the clock 2 years. same car, the compressor goes out, we look through the warranty see its under warranty, and as much as we DID NOT want to bring the car back to them, we had to so they could honor the warranty. they held the car for 6 days, while they argued and fought with us over the warranty work. They did finally honor there warranty and again, replaced all the A/C components free of cost to us, after many calls to discuss a warranty, Russell continued to tell us we were not under warranty, or use loopholes in there warranty to get us to pay for the repair, even though our paperwork showed we were warranty based on the website we were directed to. 2 days after we got the car home, the car again is not blowing cold, we ended up taking it elsewhere, as we were simply tired of dealing with this company, where they told us the expansion valve was bad, mind you a part they said they replaced, and it was leaking from a fitting, on a system they just replaced. we had the other place go ahead and fix the car for 575.00.. Now the car is blowing 39 degrees, and is staying ice cold save your headaches go elsewhere, unless you like bringing your car back in for shoddy work, to fight with them to fix it. read more

Mobile mechanics were unavailable and my wife found Austin's Automotive Specialists in Buda about a mile from where we were. Called, and they said they would try to get us in, so we hobbled our way there --- very cautiously. Their lot was pretty full when we arrived, but they still managed to get us in and fixed up after only a few hours, and we were back on our way home. Very courteous, very knowledgeable, and very fair on the price. We went there because we were stuck and desperate, but if i'm ever around Austin and need help again, i'll call them first because now i trust them. read more

My car (manual transmission) was having issues on my way back to Buda and called these guys while on the highway! They said bring my car down. They checked what the issue was with the clutch and recommended a new clutch (car has 125k miles). Price was on the high side but they didnt push me to do it. They were ok if I took my car out and take it somewhere else (diagnostic charges still applies of course). It's so very rare to actually find an automotive repair or service shop these days that doesn't make you want to pull your hair out afterwards. I've used this place twice since moving back to Texas. I had my brakes changed out here and they quoted a fair price and that's what I ended up paying. NO hidden costs. The second, and most recent, time was after my wife's car broke. I was fairly sure she had a blown turbo, but due to my disabilities I'm unable to work with my hands long enough to effect a repair this intense. I had called the dealership and got a run around quote that ended up being 30 plus percent more than I paid. They did an excellent job of keeping us informed during the job and actually ended up coming in $200 under the initial quote! They also gave me a 10% military discount both times!! read more

The 2 stars are because the manager Tom was very friendly and because Dani did give me the option of paying $53 to test the fan motor instead of charging the full $98 diagnostics fee because we already pretty much knew what was wrong with my car. I will not come back to this place because I feel they were trying to rip me off. I only needed the AC condenser fan motor replaced, but they wanted me to replace the whole fan assembly and their cost for that part is $263. At Auto zone, the price for the whole assembly is only $97. The fan motor itself online is only $38 through Amazon. Auto zone price was around $65 I believe. The labor cost to replace the whole assembly was $148. My friend who is a mechanic was able to replace the fan motor in about 30 minutes so it seems they were likely charging me a lot for labor for such a quick job. I asked why they could not just quote me on replacing the fan motor. I was told it would be about the same cost, which doesn't make any sense since the fan motor is a lot cheaper than the whole fan assembly part. When I went to get my car after getting the quote online, I had to ask for a printout of their quote. Dani was hesitant to print it out for me, but she did. She probably did not want me to see their prices because anyone can look up the parts online and find out they are asking too much. read more

This place employees good mechanics who like taking their skills at automotive service and repair and match it with customer care. The entire team works hard to get you fixed right the first time and get you down the road. I have yet to experience this team trying to Up sale some stuff you don't really need and neither has my wife. You may or may not find cheaper prices for an oil change or repair/ service, but if you do you run a big risk on the customer service and integrity being poor, at least in Buda and Kyle. And keep in mind that Factory Warranty work does not have to be performed by a dealership. read more
