Said it was for an oil change, but I still had almost 700 miles before it was due. -Integrity is a really good thing! He could have said, "You need an oil change. When would you like to bring it in?" But he didn't say that. -I also was having problems getting my rusted license plate off, so they helped me take it off and offered me some new license plate screws! -Stop by and see Jerry. Called to ask about getting a first time oil change, I asked for a price and that's it, the guy started asking for my name and information, so what you can sell it? Why are you waisting my time? I had battery issues, and they were so helpful in fixing it. as a young woman it's so common to get uncharged at mechanics but they did not, and they took me seriously when I told them what I thought the problem was. CB are professionals and honest businessman. I went to their shop because my vehicle was having a delay when I was in stop signs or traffic lights. And I have a close call. I almost get into an accident. I went to my dealership address this problem for the second time. The dealership runs some diagnostics and they did not find any problems. Since my vehicle did not have a warning signs...In the meantime I was terrified to drive. So I went to CB for a second opinion. CB took the time to explain to me the problem with my vehicle. They keel in contact with me while they repair my vehicle. To my surprise CB prioritized what need it to be fix in my vehicle and made others recommendations. CB did not try to push me to do unnecessary repairs. They did not take advantage of the fact of me being an ignorant in mechanics and a woman. Christian Brothers Automotive in Buda was very professional and exceeded our expectations on customer service and timeliness. We had an issue with our AC system so we stopped by to have them diagnose the issue. Was initially told that it could be 72 hours before a diagnostic and up to a week depending on parts. They have a great lobby to wait while being checked in and offered snacks and even a shuttle service if needed. The team there was able to actually get our vehicle diagnosed and repaired the next day. They were quick to diagnose the issue (electrical/power) on my 2017 model, did a thorough evaluation, had good communication, and top-notch customer service. They'll be one of my first considerations going forward. I called around before coming here, and found several places that would've diagnosed my issue for free--versus a $120ish diagnosis fee with CBA. But I chose CBA because of the tools and experience they had. I worried the free diagnosis would not be at the same level as CBA. I'll pay for peace of mind. In the end, I'm glad I went here. CBA spent 24 hours testing and eliminating until they narrowed down the problem. They performed a fix, and then tested it to make sure it was correct. I appreciated the time they took to make sure they had the right fix. And they still only charged me the initial diagnosis fee, even though they obviously spent a lot of time on it. One last thing: before we knew the issue with my car, the CBA rep (Nick) told me what he thought it could be, what CBA would charge for it, and what I could do on my own to help lower the cost. That was when I knew these guys weren't all about profit and were actually interested in earning my trust. Also, when I was picking up my car, I heard the owner telling someone to charge a discounted hourly labor charge. That's good stuff. read more

I heard a funny noise with my brakes. I called Christian Brothers Automotive in Buda, Texas and was greeted by a calming voice. After I explained my situation, I asked if they could squeeze me in and fix my brakes. I'm a Registered Nurse and I need my vehicle at all times. Patients depend on me. The gentleman told me to bring my car in and he will see what he can do. I got text messages letting me know that they were looking at my car, what was wrong with it, and how much it would cost. I selected on text what I wanted fixed and what could wait. I got a phone call that my car was ready. I didn't have a ride to pick up my car and they offered to come pick me up. That was AMAZING! I was able to get there on my own and I was greeted by the same calming voice. Checkout was easy and I was extremely satisfied. The service was professional and the cost was reasonable. I will be taking my car to Christian Brothers Automotive for all my car repair needs. Horrible service got my car checked for an idle issue and got it back with my bumper all smashed in and dents all over my passenger side. When I brought it to the shops attention he said it never happened and the person driving my car said " that was their I was thinking of fixing it for you for free just to be nice". Really to be nice, come on that is a joke. As the manager came to me he started to raise his voice to me and told me to shut up. I could not believe the way I was treated he even tried to scare me away by saying he was gonna call the cop, so I go them involved to help the issue. In the short hand I was treated with the upmost disrespect told to shut up, was yelled at, and got my car back all banged up. To whoever in that shop messed up my car you know who you are and I will be contacting my insurance company and notifying the head of your company since the franchise owner won't own up to the issue. Not sure how to rate this business. First, I called for a quote and made an appt. On the day of my appointment the price of the work done was different from what I was quoted. The workers who greet/process payments were nice/well mannered. The problem was one of the staff (manager or possibly owner from observation) arguing with a customer. The customer was calm and while he was leaving the employee came outside and started ranting again while the customer asked him nicely to stop speaking to him. He then returned inside the office and started speaking very loudly about the customer as well as complaining about how hard his days been and this customer made his day worse. I can only assume he is upper management from the way the other employees were behaving around him. If he was a regular employee I'm sure he would be called out from a manager, apologizing to the customer, or fired. If you're having a bad day then maybe you should have a time out. It's very inappropriate to behave like this at work and also lowers morale. I was displeased since the name "Christian brothers" and having religious references in the office should stand for something. Customers should feel safe going into your office and feel they are being properly serviced. I will not return here again nor will I recommend this place. read more

Called Firestone first since I'm grandfathered into a tire-rotation deal, but when our already brief phone conversation was cut even shorter by the (impatient and unreasonably flustered) gentleman hanging up on me mid-sentence I considered "branching out"... it wasn't the first time I'd felt like I was inconveniencing them with my service, and that's across multiple locations. I remembered the impressive service I received at the CBAC in Round Rock a couple years ago, so when I discovered there was one right here in Buda I was absolutely relieved! Excellent customer service: Sybil at the desk was calm, patient, and professional, addressing me right away. None of the staff seemed rushed at all, even though I suspected they were busy enough (several walk-ins and calls). Fair, competitive, reasonable pricing: Up-front costs were disclaimed immediately and as services were being completed I was updated and consulted regarding options and their additional costs, respectively. I wasn't talked into anything I didn't need or talked out of anything time-intensive. Efficient quality service: I waited about 2 hours for an oil change, cross tire rotation, state inspection, headlight replacement, and a slightly silly seatbelt request (got it stuck around the base of a non-removable headrest ). They've found and corrected other mechanics' mistakes in the past, so I feel comfortable trusting that the job was done, the first time, like it should! I do admit that I have a tendency to procrastinate on getting preventative maintenance like I should, but CBAC ended up being the "one-stop-shop" for all of my auto needs. Christian Brothers used to be a good place to have automotive work done. They used to be honest, and upfront, when it came to their business practices. They need to go back to their old way of doing things. They are way over priced now, and they don't give the customer an upfront quote anymore. If I would have known that it was going to cost $225, just the replace 2 belts, I would have gone elsewhere. $118 per hour, for labor, and up charging 100% on parts is rediculous. Not to mention another $60 for diagnostics, even though I told them what my truck needed, is also rediculous. read more

Would not recommend getting an inspection here. Despite the draw of "free inspections" to get people in the doors, my experience was not great. They took 45 minutes to inspect my car and told me they wouldn't pass my inspection because of $1,000+ worth of needed repair work such as break pads, rotors, and an old battery. Ended up going to a different place and passed an inspection in 5 minutes. I then got home and my husband checked my break pads and said they did not need to be replaced. I would hate to think that twenty-something year old women like me get talked into paying for things they don't need because the mechanics think I don't know anything about cars. read more

I'm disappointed in this place. I've given it three tries because I really liked it couple years ago when I went here. I've paid extra for warranty and they still charged me the next time for something that should of been covered( brakes) . This time they told me they had time to look at my car Wednesday and it is Friday and they still haven't moved my car from where I parked it. When I called to check in (because they won't) they said it was already on the rack being looked at, so they straight lied to me. I've had to take three days off now ! And since it is Friday I probably won't get it back until next week. Just super inconsiderate of them to tell me they had time. I would of took it else where. read more

I cold-called them with a Check Engine light issue the other day. They took me right in, diagnosed why the light came on, found some other issues, called me, and gave me all options for the repairs. We have been customers here for many years but I don't believe we will be going back. I was talked into an unneeded diagnostic and charged $118 and all that was wrong was a broken gas cap. They did not tell me that upfront they just talked me into the diagnostic. When I objected I had a conversation with Karl, the owner and really all he wanted to do was to argue and tell me how they were right and I was wrong. I asked for half my money back; he declined. I was greeted by good morning and a pleasant smile from the tech sitting at the desk as soon as i walked in the door . the waiting room had nice leather covered couches, was clean, nicely decorated it was in a *christian * theme not overpowering and certainly not offensive to alternative beliefs . I needed to get my car inspected and had already been to 3 other places. The guy tells me it should take about 30 minutes. No problem. I give him my keys and sit down. I wait and wait and wait. The car has not moved. I understand they are busy; but, they had set my expectations that I would be out in 30 minutes, 45 minutes tops. After almost an hour, I get up, ask for my keys and leave. I applaud you for being a Christian company and having good values. I would hope that if you tell me its going to be 30 minutes and I am out the door, you would stick to it and not leave me hanging for over an hour when my car had not even moved. Thanks. These have got to be the nicest people on the face of the earth. Great experience! I took my car in because I was hearing a weird sound from under the hood. They ran a $50 diagnostic (which seems ridiculous since other places have this service for free, but whatever) and they diagnosed it as a transmission problem. He offered to fix it there, but I was still under my power-train warranty so I needed to take it into a Suzuki place. I spoke to the guy working up front, I believe his name was Karl, and told him that I had taken it to my dealership before and they told me there was no issue. This guy gives me his card and tells me to take it back to the dealership and have them call him if they tried to tell me it wasn't my transmission again. Well, I take it to my Suzuki Dealer and they are telling me it's not my trans, but a different problem. I give them the Christian Brothers card and have them call Karl. 10 minutes later the Suzuki guy comes up to me and tells me that it is my trans, and they will get it replaced straight away. I don't know what Karl said to him but he got results! It was so comforting to know that even if they weren't getting my business, Christian Brothers was looking out for me. If I ever have an issue again, I will keep them in mind. read more

I've had several vehicles worked on at this location. I prefer to take my vehicles to a shop that I can trust. I think, this shop qualifies, but as in many automotive problems, sometimes they may be difficult to pin down. The more information you can give them about your vehicle, the less it will cost you. (I think that is written somewhere...) Recently, had front axles put on my vehicle. They were fast and very helpful. The waiting room is comfortable and friendly. WARNING: Shop around before having work done at Christian Brothers! While the staff is extremely helpful, kind, and knowledgeable...the prices are outrageous! Diesel trucks take more oil that your standard car, so oil changes are expected to be higher. They charged $200 for an oil change (15 quarts) and quoted me over $300 for a fuel filter change...long story short I passed on the fuel filter change and ended up going to the Ford dealer and found out their cost for the same oil change $105 and fuel filter change $190! Yesterday, my car would not start and I had it towed to Christian Brothers in Buda. From the first time I called, up until the time I had my car back this morning- I received the best service, communication, and just pure kindness over the phone from Nick and Phil. I dread going to any automotive company normally. I was scared, emotional and worried that I would not make it to pick my kids up and dealing with them truly made a difference. This was the best experience I've had. They also texted me a link that showed me everything they did, what they recommended, and what was looking good on my car along with photos, which I really loved. They didn't try to convince me to do anything else to my car. AND I was in a rut where I was unable to go get to my car, so they delivered it. A friend of mine referred me to Christian Brothers in Buda to provide preventative maintenance and minor repairs for my Ford Excursion, which has nearly 300,000 miles. They did a great job with the work. They even drove me back to my house, and then picked me up the next day when it was ready, which I did not expect! These guys are great! You can tell from the start that they are professional, knowledgeable and truly want to help. They've saved my family numerous times while going above and beyond to gain our satisfaction and ultimate trust. I can share a few different stories however, allow me to share my favorite. I decided to spend a night detailing my car and spent the last few minutes shining up my brand new chrome rims. Went to sleep and woke up the next day. Got in my car to go for a cruise and noticed a slight loss of power when reversing out of my driveway. I discovered that one of the towels I was using to shine my rims was caught in the break caliber. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO! HOW THE HECK DID THAT HAPPEN!? I still have no idea. Lol. I couldn't get it out. I tugged on it, used tools to pry it out, Drove it around, on the highway, in the neighborhood, tried to cut it out of the caliber... nothing. I decided to take it for a spin one last time down the access road and there they were! Christian Automotive. I pulled over... freaking out and frustrated. I saw some guys working in the shop and screamed for help. I told them I didn't know if I was in trouble but I can't get the towel out. One of the technicians ran over and said, "we have to get this out, it could start a fire" and gave it a tug.... No dice. He tried a couple of different things.... No dice. He finally said... "let me drive it into the bay, I'll take the tire off and get it out". I was so confused. This man literally took the tire off, took apart and removed the caliber to get the towel out. And he did this in under 10 minutes. He put everything back together and drove the car back to me. (Of course I was right behind him the entire time watching all of this with my mouth dropped to the floor in disbelief.) I was soooo grateful and didn't care what I had to pay for his help. He wouldnt accept my money. I truly wanted to pay him for his efforts so I practically begged. Lol. He wouldn't take it. Then I asked if he could at least provide me his name. (I mean, I needed to know who the heck this super hero was!). He responds "My name is Karl... and I'm the owner" Needless to say, this is my most trusted mechanic and they have earned my absolute loyalty. A few years ago, I took a car to another Christian Brothers location. They inspected the car and gave me a quote. I then checked with the dealer and got a quote for considerably less money. I told the owner that I would be going to the dealer, and he literally said, "fine - and you're not welcome here in the future." OK by me. Now, years later, my son's car showed a check engine light at virtually the same time he discovered a radiator leak and his A/C not working. He lives near the Buda Christian Brothers shop so, against my better judgement, I said, "let's try it again." My son dropped the car off on a Monday morning and it was there until Friday afternoon. They found that the car was very low on oil - nearly empty - even though it had had a oil change only about 4000 miles previously. There appeared to be a slight leak at the filter and some indication of oil burning at start. They also found five engine codes including P0028 and P2610 codes indicating engine off timer performance issues. Christian Brothers repaired the A/C and radiator for approximately $1400. They filled up the oil and cleared the codes and drove the car and there was apparently no indication of engine damage - until my son drove approximately 20 miles and the engine started clattering. My son called the shop and they said they'd send a truck - which arrived several hours later. First issue - They should not have repaired "trivial" issues like A/C and radiator until is was clear that the engine was not damaged. They should have said, "A car with five engine codes and no oil is likely damaged. Let's hold off on the non-essential repairs until we know for sure." Instead, they seem to seem to have maximized dollars knowing full well that the engine may be ruined. Second issue - they quoted $6500 to install a used engine. When I called a shop that specializes in this brand of car, they said, "that's ridiculous and about $2500 too high." In my opinion, this is inline with my last experience of Christian Brothers charging significantly more than other shops. Third issue - I just paid $150 to have the car towed back to Christian Brothers when it should never have been released from the shop. This amounts to about $5 per mile - which may or may not be the going rate for towing. Again, the tow truck took hours to arrive and my son was stranded. I expect Christian Brothers does good work. I believe, based on only my experience, that they charge more than they should. In this case, had they quoted a competitive price to replace the engine, they would have had my business. If they'd taken care of the towing back to their shop, they would have had additional business from me in the future. I spoke to the manager (owner?), and that $150 seems more important than my future business. I now expect I was overcharged for the $1400 of work that was done. I'll never know - but I absolutely will not be returning this time. Two points make a straight line. I'll be sending this information to Christian Brothers corporate offices as well. Last time, they didn't even bother to reply - I expect the same this time, but we'll see. By the way - the car in question is a Jaguar with mostly Ford mechanicals, including the Ford DuraMax engine. Christian Brothers comment when I told them that JagTechs was quoting $2500 less was, "well, they're a specialty shop for that car..." This is the first time I've taken a car to a specialty shop and saved approximately 30%. Again, I'm sure the shop does good work. However, my recommendation would be to shop around. read more

Too bloody expensive, not quick at all, and are reluctant to give you a straight answer. I was treated better when I was with my wife in her car all dressed up for a wedding. Not so good when You are in your work clothes dropping off your work truck for a few repairs. And whoever makes the prices there belongs in a padded room. The quote they gave me could be seen from space. A little too white collar if you ask me. But its alright, I was burned for $300 and left before I could get burned for double. paid over $400 to put a starter in a 2002 honda. The starter ended up going out on me within 2 years of them putting it in. Turns out the starter they put in wasn't even new it was refurbished. I could have bought a brand new starter for $130 but since my car got towed to their facility I didn't have much of a choice. They weren't willing to help me out at all because they said it was out of warranty. I wil never go here again. They are overpriced on everything.
