Amazing customer service and honest! I went to another place to get my brakes checked and they wanted to charge me $600 and when I brought it here for a smog check the guys wanted to inform me that I need pads and when asking about the rotors and we're not pushy at all! The other place said I needed new ones!!!! These gentlemen said that the rotors aren't bad and recommended I just get ceramic pads for a faction of the price! I needed an oil change and had a coupon, so Auto Check got my business. Three stars is for how thorough they were. Meaning, too thorough. They took a bit longer than I was comfortable with, as they jacked it up, took off all the tires, and inspected everything. It's nice to know you have 25% left on the rear brakes, but I like my oil changes to just be that. While I appreciated the effort, I had other things to do. I would go here again, since they were very nice and the waiting room is comfortable, but next time I'd state that I just wanted the oil change done speedily. read more

I have been going to Auto Check Center for years to have smog tests done on my 2 cars (2000 Honda CR-V & 2003 Nissan Pathfinder). Each time I have had no issues with the service provided. I then started to take my Honda CR-V for overheating issues. The mechanic there did a fabulous job replacing the water pump, timing belt, and temp gauge with switch. Received my car back in a very timely manner with professional work. After the Honda work, I decided to trust them with my Nissan Pathfinder for a brake job (front & back rotors, pads, & cylinders) and 2 drive belts change. Just received the car back and is running great! The work they do is superior to many other local mechanics I have been to in my many years of car issues. I would recommend then to anyone. Give them a try and you will be happy with the results. BTW, I will be going back for more work and smog tests in the near future! read more

I have been coming to Auto Check for about a decade. Perhaps that should be enough of a recommendation, but specifics are always helpful in a review. I first came for the smog check because of a coupon and now return for general repairs on my 1999 Toyota Camry. Their prices are lower than the Toyota dealership I was using for service. And they don't recommend needless repairs. A service advisor at the dealership recommended an unnecessary $500 repair when all I needed was a new key (my regular advisor showed up and he addressed the problem). When that advisor left, I did as well. They will prioritize the repairs by urgency and note the pending issues for a future visit. One time the check engine light was on and the computer noted two problems. Mansour recommended fixing one of the two problems and see if the other one went away. It did. Today was expensive, it IS a 23 year old car. However, for each repair they showed me the problem and explained the solution. I trust them to help me maintain my old car. It is with complete confidence that I recommend their services. read more

Just smogged my car, waited about 10 minutes, then the technician started working and finished about 15 minutes later. Everything worked as expected, got my certificate and left. Download the coupon from their website, cost for a car is $28.75 plus the $8.25 for State certificate. I will definitely go there again. Oh, and the owner and the technician were very nice. Poor communication and high pressure to buy additional work on my vehicle.

First come first serve. This is my 3rd time visiting this location for a smog test all for different vehicles. Found a coupon online at smogcheckirvine.com for $29.75 Took a screen shot of it and showed it to Mohammad at the front desk. Coupon has been accepted each time I come to this location. Arrived at 9:15am to perform a smog test on my 2001 Lexus gs300. Filled out paperwork. Handed over my registration. Handed over my keys. At 9:24am my car was pulled into garage and the smog testing began. 9:46am smog test complete. My car passed emissions testing. Once again happy with this smog test station. Thank you! I paid $430 out the door for a timing belt + water pump change on a V8 interference engine. I was quoted at 3 times that amount by the VTEC place across the parking lot, granted the VTEC place is ASE certified. Anyways, props to the Mexican mechanic named Luis who worked on my car. We came home and took stuff apart afterwards just to check how detail-oriented the job was, and it was pretty damn good I must say. Like any businessman/mechanic, they tried to get me to change out more stuff than I wanted, and they're just going by the book, so no harm in chatting. Most people don't realize that when mechanics rip them off, people rip themselves off by agreeing to do this or that. It is your fault if you do not do the research or homework on your own beforehand. Of course, I refused to change the extra stuff. They try to scare people by voiding a 12 month (parts and labor) warranty if people don't adhere to their service recommendations. But honestly, 12 months only equates to about 12-15k miles. If you have stuff breaking in 12-15k, that probably means they didn't do their job right to begin with, not that you refused to change something out. Be aware of this (as with any other mechanic) and understand what is at hand. To me, the warranty just doesn't seem to be worth much of anything. Like every other place I went to, they told me they'd be able to get the job done and keep the total turnaround time to a day...wasn't the case as it took 2 days. Of course, if you tell anyone that you can't do it in a day, you won't be having anyone coming in. So 2 days instead of 1, but I still avoided a lot of headache by coming here.
