This time my 18-year-old Sienna had a few issues which they noticed and explained to me; I knew about these issues before after an inspection at Toyota, who gave me a list of several items adding up to an estimate of several thousand dollars. I had a car which is newer than year 2000 that required smog check. I went to the shop before 8 o'clock on Saturday morning (they open at 8:00). I was the first customer so the smog check was fast and was done within half an hour. I had a paper coupon for $28.75 and they accepted the coupon. They do charge an additional $8.25 for the cert (normal) -- making the total payment at $37. Process was smooth, except for that the tech, I believe his name is Bob, tried to sell me replacing my spark plugs and some cleanup work for $225. I declined it. I do lots hands on work on my car myself so i know what's going on. Otherwise I would give 5 stars instead of 4. Interesting to notice a poster on the front desk wall that says: "Our rate ____ $/hr" (yeah, ____) "$120/hr if you watch" "$160/hr if you helped" Hilarious! read more

This review is for their star smog check services, they might be good at other things, visit at your own risk. What was supposed to be a 15 minute smog check has turned into a month long headache. After they failed my car because their system couldn't register my aftermarket intake, they added insult to injury by flagging it as TAMPERED (long story short, with that designation no other smog shop will pass it. I know because I visited another shop that told me everything passed and it shouldn't have been initially failed, but since it's flagged as TAMPERED they had to send me back to this shop to get it corrected. Returned only to get the runaround and told to return another day to have my vehicle looked at again. Now I have to schedule an appointment with the BAR referee to dispute the initial fail and hopefully get my car passed so I can get my DMV registration. Avoid this place if you need a star smog and your vehicle isn't 100% stock (even if your aftermarket parts are California state legal). read more

There are a number of car dealers as well all in the area you can walk around to as well to look at some cars. This review applies to Auto Check Center's smog testing service. This is a Star testing center, for vehicles that require the specialized testing, as well as the standard testing. In addition, the Center provides mechanical repair. I've been taking my cars here for years, and the staff has never failed to provide fast, friendly, and reliable service. I took my vehicle there today, and found the same consistently good service that they have always provided. The pricing is very competitive, especially if you have a coupon. Even though the Check Center has a steady stream of customers, they've always managed to get my cars checked out in a reasonable amount of time. The car repair bays always seem clean and orderly. The office does have some seats for waiting customers, but I prefer to use their outside waiting area, which consists of a large canopy with comfortable patio chairs. I haven't had the chance to use their repair services, but I've observed that the steady stream of customers always seem satisfied. Test technician has a permanent scowl on his face. Acted like I was there to bother him lol. Test went well and smooth, but the kicker is they tried to sell me brake service that wasn't even needed. Good thing I'm a procrastinator, cause I just went to Toyota to get my oil change (3 months later) and they said brakes were fine.
