Another well deserved 5 star review for Jay and Auto Detail Chicago. After searching the internet for a few days looking for detailers in the area, I came across Auto Detail Chicago, which turned out to get fantastic reviews across the board. Being from NJ and only living in the Lake Forest area for the summer I was not very familiar with the surrounding area. A quick Yelp search for detailers in the Chicago area led me right to Jay and I am glad I stuck with him. I love my car, and traditionally perform all maintenance and work on it myself. I normally detail it twice it a year as well. Since I was far away from home, I did not have the capacity to bring my detailing products and random orbital buffer for my normal summer detail. I am particular on the products I use and the process that many shops consider detailing. Many other shops I found on the internet were overpriced for the work they performed, and refered to a "detail" as a simple Wash/Vacuum and Wax. Jay however was different. I can see why he is a certified professional detailer as he follows the correct approach to detailing a car. The car is washed, clayed, polished, and sealed. The interior is steam cleaned including all carpets and any crevasses I could never get to even with the smallest brushes. Everything is conditioned and restored to as new condition. He even applied a special product I brought to him that I like to put on after a detail to give the car a "wet" look. Jay was very accomodating for my schedule and met me right in front of the building. I did not need to find his garage as he was already waiting for me out front when I pulled up. I was able to drop off the car and spend a few hours walking around the city. Even when it was done he waited a little extra for me to make my way back to his side of town. Overall I was extremelly pleased with my experience and will be reccomending everyone who needs a detail to go see Jay. I promise you will not find a better job for the money. read more

I never write reviews on Yelp, but I'm really pleased with the service here. My regular detailer has been backlogged for months so I took a leap of faith and tried this place out based on the Yelp reviews. I took my new Audi R8 here for a wash & wax and was really impressed with the job they did. I called the night before, was scheduled next day, and dropped off my car with Jay, came back in three hours and the car was immaculate. The attention to detail was great and the paint was restored flawlessly. Their website says basic washes are only for Friedman tenants only which was disappointing, because I would definitely give them my business frequently for basic car washes as well. First of all, thanks to everyone else's reviews, I found my way to Auto Detail Chicago. I second, third, fourth and fifth all previous 5-star reviews. Honestly, I've never understood why one would get their car detailed, but when my Accord turned 10 years old and 100K miles all in the same month, it seemed only fitting. Now I understand why people do this to their cars... Jesus had on his hands, therefore, a 10-year-old car that's been through car washes but not much else. And it's black, which means it showed its many, many blemishes. The car I dropped off in the a.m. was most definitely a 10-year-old urban vehicle. The one I picked up is gorgeous, inside and out. He and his team had clearly worked very, very hard on making this minor miracle happen. I don't know how many more 100K milestones my cars have ahead of them, and so I'm inclined to say after this enormously positive experience, that I may have to make this a present to my car every 50K... read more

I am totally happy with their service! Jay is the man. One week ago I was panning to find an interior auto detailing service with steam treatment because my relatives were coming over. One of them has asthma, others have allergy, I want to eliminate any possible dust mites, allergen etc. I came across the highly rated Auto Detail Chicago in yelp. Very impressive about the almost all five stars reviews. But the most recent one only give one star! I was a bit concerned but decided to give it a try. I can't speak for others, but turns out the result is to my satisfaction! When I stepped in, Jay was giving a full explanation about what will be down. He asked if there were any place need to be specially taken care. I told he my situation and he guaranteed he will both shampoo the seats and steam the area along with the general interior detailing. I even got there late for picking up my car. They were waiting for me without any problem. When I saw my car doors opened like a beetle displayed to me, I knew I chose the right place. You know what? Would highly recommend this place! Our car was in serious need of a good clean up so we took it to Jay to get a full detail, interior and exterior. It came out looking brand new inside and out which I thought was nearly impossible for how bad of shape it was in when I dropped it off. I parked my car under a bridge during a downpour and came out to find rust residue from the bridge all over my car. All the scrubbing in the world stubbornly refused to remove it and within 24 hours and to my absolute horror, my shiny white Toyota Camry was looking like a beat-up 20 year old car caked in rust from bumper to bumper! I called my Toyota dealership and a couple of mechanics and they told me that I would need to get the entire car re-painted! Refusing to spend a fortune on re-painting, I set out looking for detailers to see if they could somehow get the rust off. Most of them quoted exorbitant prices and offered me no guarantees. Yelp helped me find Auto Detail Chicago. Jay got me an appointment at very short notice and at an extremely reasonable price. He took one look at my car and told me he could fix it. By the time I got my car back from Jay, it was absolutely gleaming! Not even a hint of rust! As I work in Naperville and live in the city, Jay also went out of his way to work with me on setting up a time to drop the car off and picking it up. It had been a few years since we'd had our car detailed and they scoured it, worked So hard to get it super clean - worked for a little over 3 hours & they took off an old city sticker I'd left on the windshield and got the GLITTER out of the car! Short version (for those with ADD): Superb place for detailing. Honest, detail oriented, affordable, great quality. Long version: I'm extremely meticulous when it comes to cleaning and maintaining high quality equipment, including cars. I have a very rare 2003 CL Type S (only 763 satin silver metalic were made out of a total of 3,511 which were 6-speed). So you can understand the care that I have with my car. After a long road trip, my car had taken a beating - bugs on the bumper, headlights and side mirrors, and some pebble scratches. The inside was also quite dirty from the trip. I dropped off the car at 8am and picked it up right after lunch. Jesus gave me a call 30 minutes before he was done with the car. When I got there, we did a walk around of the car to check for everything. I pointed out a few minor things here and there and he took care of them. The headlights looked like brand new! (I was considering replacing them because they looked so bad). The inside of the car was beautiful. The black leather was shinny from oil and contaminants. When I picked it up, it looked like it did when the car was brand new. Many detailers will just wipe down the interior and make it look shinny. What I liked about Auto Detail Chicago was that there was special care and attention to detail when it came to this. Besides using a air hose to clean the grooves, the guys wiped down and treated the interior. Overall, Auto Detail Chicago is a phenomenal and affordable (compare prices online) place to get your car back to when it was in the showroom at the dealer. These guys will not make it tacky-shinny and focus on oiling things up for the "wow" factor, they will focus on the details so you remember what it was like driving the car off the lot the day you bought it. Things to note: Apparently they recently moved from the River North area. I got worried when I got there and there was a yellow awning with "Auto Spa" as I googled the place for directions and the reviews for Auto Spa were mediocre. read more

I took my car to Jay after a fishing/camping trip in Wisconsin and it honestly looked like it did the day I drove it off the lot when I got it back from these guys...inside and out. I couldn't believe it. Not only that, but I told Jay I would be there to pick up my car around 4pm that day, but something came up and I was super late. I typically keep my car in great condition, but I even I was surprised by the great job that these guys did on my dark colored BMW. My car, which succumbs to the tough conditions of Chicago (parking, driving and weather) looked brand new inside and out. They buffed out the swirls and small marks and the car felt like glass. They took their time (about 3-4 hrs), which tells you they are doing it right. I definitely recommend taking your car to these guys. They are accommodating (they did mine on a Sunday) and do it right. I have been to several other high-end car wash places that do an okay job (often leaving behind swirls) at the same or similar price, but they don't do it as good as these guys. Wow! Jesse and his team are rock stars. I drive a black 2011 Mercedes G55 AMG. When I got my car back, it looked as good (maybe better) than new. My vehicle is not an easy one to detail given the shape, trim, and general complexity of the panel fit. My car looks amazing! I had originally called for an appt and they asked if I would swing by for an estimate first to see the car. They were able to get to me quickly, quote a price and to my advantage, due to a cancellation, they were able to do a full detail on my car that day.....that was 2 weeks earlier with the original quoted date for work. I was super thrilled!! I got to meet my techs who were very friendly and gave me the best suggestions for making my car look new again. Kid you not, I had some nasty scratches from that ever self confident white pillar in my garage. The tech was knowledgable and suggested the best approach to buff out those deep scrapes without having to go to a body shop or paint. I first learned about Auto Detailing Chicago from a Yelp search. I work 1 block from another detailer, but hesitated to take my car there due to the low Yelp rating. I am admittedly obsessive about keeping my car clean (no eating, smoking, or other trashing activities in my car) but the combination of winter, Chicago's famous dust, road salt, bird doo, etc. had taken its toll after one year since I took delivery of my new Infiniti G37x. I had been taking the car to one of the chain car wash places but they always missed something, applied that oily crap to my tires that throws splats on the side panels, and turns brown in a week, regardless of me asking each time that it not be applied. Well, the last time it was only to one side of the car. Then comes my new Yelp search for a place that does a GOOD job detailing cars. Auto Detail Chicago was at the top of the list so I called them on the 4th of July. I received a return call from Jay the next day and he was able to fit me in first thing this morning. Since I normally start work at 6 am and they open at 7:30 Jay offered to come in early. I told him 7:30 was fine. The place is a little difficult to find (go South down center ramp on LaSalle at Kinzie), take a left just before you get to the pay lot, and it's 100 yards from there on the left. Jay came out at 7:30 sharp and opened the overhead door for me. I had made a list of things I wanted done and things I did not want done. Jay said he appreciated the list of what was important to me. We went over it and he asked some clarifying questions. The long and short of my experience is that Jay and Auto Detail Chicago is everything a fussy customer could ask for and more. The car looks as good or better than when new. Jay was also able to remove a bumper scuff far better than I was. I took my car to Jay today (2009 Lexus). The car was in good shape but needed a good, thorough detailing. Also, had a bunch of scratches here and there, but nothing major. I took the car to Jay and he literally made it look like new (I only got the exterior detail, but he still vacuumed the inside). The car exterior is spotless and smooth. Moreover, he buffed away tons of little nicks and scratches and even applied some touch up paint (I was lucky as he had some left over from a guy who owns the same color/model I own). I am very picky about who I go to when it comes to higher end services like detailing. I did a decent amount of research and Jay had the best reviews. Also, Jay may be one of two businesses I have ever research (and I have researched tons for one reason or another) who 5 star reviews from essentially every customer. Had my 2006 Toyota Maxtrix detailed there today. Although the car is low mileage and garage-kept, I've done a lot of hauling (home remodeling and gardening materials) with it, and it was beyond filthy inside. It had never been detailed since I bought it new in September, 2005. I wasn't expecting Jay to perform miracles, but HE DID! The car looks totally showroom new again! A big scuff on the rear bumper - totally gone! He even completely renewed the cruddy floormats, which I had expected to replace. The whole car looks like somebody spent a week cleaning it with 100 boxes of Q-Tips. My expectations were completely exceeded. i yelped this place, and really wanted my baby pampered, she just got back from a 3 day desert hike... Boy was i in for another trip! i figured "hard to find" was my kinda place. i love "hole-in-the-wall" places that do great jobs. i started out at 3:00 on lasalle st looking for this place. after 2 circles, i located the building marked "325 lasalle", so i parked my car and walked inside. I figured i would stop being a stupid guy refusing to ask for directions, so i let go of my ego and asked the desk man about the detail shop. He directed me to go north on lasalle a few blocks, make a u turn, then proceed down the ramp. And ask the parking attendant about it. Not a big deal. Once i was UNDER building 325 N Lasalle, i found myself in a sketchy loading/ docking zone, full of box trucks making deliveries, and a cars parked around, workers moving boxes, etc. Little sketchy, Not a big deal. After 5 minutes of driving around, the parking attendant booth was still empty, and no one was around to help me out. i even parked my car, walked around, and poked my head into doorways. a few lower level kitchens, work stations, OK, it's getting pretty dark way back here, deserted building, meat cleavers swinging from chains... eh Not a big deal. so i got BACK in my car, and spent 5 minutes googling it from my blackberry. once i located the number, i was back on top of lasalle st, and called..... and FINALLY, i got an answer. I spoke to an irritated man, who simply said" call this number : 878787878(example)' 1. a little hard to find, OK 2. the people in the building can't even help you ,OK 3. When you finally get fed up and pull over to google the number, then call the business directly for directions, and they still can't help you. NOT OK = thanks for wasting an hour of my time. I had such an awful time, i created a YELP account, just for this review. great customer service/ not so much. Later that day: I did receive a response from "jay" explaining the problems, this,that, out of my control (yada yada.) which was sincere. I understand the value of great customer service. So i will schedule for a week from now, to see if i can turn this negative experience into a GREAT one. Thank you for responding with such alacrity to my post. read more
