I was like you recently, looking on Yelp for a decent, honest mechanic to work on my car. I needed…read morea brake job, and a dealer would charge retail prices, and the corporate bosses at a chain shop would pressure the shop manager to nickel and dime the customer into purchasing additional repairs that they probably didn't need to boost sales. Independent shops are usually reliable as they live and die by their reputation, but often times they can be hit and miss. I can only speak from my experience but I can report to you that Dave's Auto Repair is the real deal. The shop is owned and run by Armando and his family (Armando bought it from Tim, the former owner, and Dave used to run the shop). Armando knows cars, and more importantly, he knows how to treat people right. His prices were competitive or better than other quotes I got, and he didn't try to upsell me on unneccesary repairs. He did give me a heads up on a few things to keep an eye on, which I appreciated, and he even threw in a few freebies which was unexpected and much appreciated. What's also nice is that most independent shops are only open M-F but Dave's is also open on Saturdays, which makes it convenient for those with work/school during the week. I'm very happy with my experience at Dave's and it gives me piece of mind knowing that I have a great mechanic I can take my car(s) to from now on.

We found him on Yelp 2 years ago and gave it a go...Never Going to Anyone Else!! When we went in with Grandmas car he fixed the part and then told us to come back in the next couple of days to make sure it was not leaking. You can tell he cares. He is a good person, reliable and reasonable priced. What else do you need in a mechanic with an auto body shop. I highly recommend you try him out. His place is exactly what you would expect from a hard worker and honesty. You don't need frilly place when you working hard.

I recently visited this Midas location while traveling because my check engine light came on. I was…read morequoted an estimated wait time of about 2 hours for the repair. Unfortunately, the repair ended up taking an additional 1.5 hours because the parts that arrived were incorrect or defective. I wished they had called me as soon as they found out about the delay. I understand that mistakes can happen and that the parts supplier may have been responsible. My disappointment wasn't the delay itself per se--it was how the situation was handled. The unexpected delay forced me to change my plans for the day. I politely asked whether they could offer any type of courtesy credit or even a coupon toward a future service in recognition of the inconvenience. The owner declined, stating that it "was not our fault" because the issue was with the parts supplier. While that may be true, as the customer, I chose Midas--not the parts supplier. I wasn't asking them to accept blame for the supplier's mistake; I was hoping they would show some goodwill for the significant inconvenience caused during my visit. The repair itself appears to have been completed successfully, and I appreciate the technicians' work. However, customer service is about how a business responds when things don't go as planned. In this case, I left feeling that my time and inconvenience were not valued. It was my first time using Midas. Unfortunately it may be my last one. So much for the Midas touch.
