Things started off poorly when I arrived for an appointment that I had scheduled in advance and was told I didn't have one. After showing voicemail messages and phone records confirming the appointment, it was acknowledged that I did have one, but I was informed that several other vehicles would now be ahead of me. Over the next several months, with my approval, additional work was added beyond the original estimate. When I finally received the vehicle back, the bill was nearly three times higher than the original quote. Unfortunately, the vehicle immediately developed a severe oil leak from the valve cover area. I was instructed to bring it back, but no tow was offered or suggested despite the severity of the leak. I checked the oil level and attempted to drive it back to the shop. The engine failed and locked up just a couple of miles away, requiring me to have it towed in. After discussing the situation, we agreed that installing a rebuilt engine would be a fair resolution. I agreed to pay $500 for labor and another $500 to add wiring for the oil pressure and generator warning lights. Nearly a year later, I received a call that the vehicle was finally ready for pickup. However, it barely made it a couple of blocks before I discovered the brakes were dragging badly. This was especially frustrating because brake work had been part of the original repair request. The shop kept the vehicle for another couple of weeks before I was able to pick it up for a third time. At that point, I was informed that the newly installed engine would carry absolutely no warranty. After all the time, money, and frustration involved, I ultimately sold the vehicle just to recover some of my expenses. Throughout the entire process, the attitude and communication were overwhelmingly negative and only seemed to worsen over time. What's particularly disappointing is that I used this shop about 17 years ago and received excellent service. I later learned that the mechanic who performed that work has since passed away. Sadly, the quality of service I received this time was nothing like what I remembered. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere. I would never want someone else to go through what I experienced here.

They did a full inspection for free and gave it to me straight: about $1,800 for four new tires, brake pads, and rotors. I've known for about 6 months now that new tires were needed. They also suggested I leave the car so they could take care of it first thing in the morning, since the brakes were in pretty rough shape and not safe to drive on. They offer excellent service, reasonable prices, and they're fast and friendly. We've asked for specific tires, that they didn't have in stock, and they were able to have them ready the next day. Our latest visit we had all new tires put on our travel trailer. We're very happy with the service and the quality of the upgraded tires we chose. They had them all installed within an hour and we were confident with their techs not only jacking the trailer correctly but installing everything expertly. They even caught a last minute mistake they made putting a slightly different sized tire on our spare. They apologized for the mix up and had our tire ready first thing the next morning with the correct tire. We'll be back within a couple of months for new tires for one of our cars as well.

I had some elective work done this time: a PPE transmission pan and full servicing, plus a Baxter oil filter adapter. Unfortunately, PPE doesn't keep the Mojave's altered geometry and frame thickness in mind for their fitment chart because it flat-out doesn't fit. They could have just slapped it on like I asked because it **kind of** fits, but it either requires further machining or altering of the crossover pipe. Beyond that, it now lowers the pan slightly under the frame, which it doesn't do on the standard frame 3.6 pan. However, the flush was great; my truck shifts better than ever and legit feels brand new now. For the Baxter adapter, there's a little casting nodule left over from the factory's casting of the pug manifold; hacking it off is required for some, but not all. They asked me first and did a fantastic job. My oil was fresh--I run Mobil 1 Extended Performance and had less than 3,000 miles on it--so it wasn't about the oil change. It's about swapping the Pentastar's oil filter housing unit from an inferior cartridge-style filter with a twist-on cap (that has very demanding torque specs) to a metal twist-on filter. These are inarguably better, not only for your vehicle but for the environment, as the metal can be scrapped and the inside has less plastic. The difference in early start-up tick due to the dry start is night and day. I'm not in "tick failure," so it was such a quiet start-up that it was kind of shocking. Anyone who says the Baxter is snake oil probably ate Tide Pods, because it was the smoothest, most quiet start-up I've had since owning my truck. They installed it very quickly and charged me incredibly fairly. I can't say enough good things about Brake Force LLC!
