I purchased a truck from Automax four months ago. Had a great experience with Tyrone he helped out a lot. So September 3 the truck broke down on me and left me on the side of the freeway, now since the truck was still under warranty I had them to come pick it up. 3 1/2 weeks later I'm still without my vehicle. One minute is the fuel module then it's the fuel pump, but the service department seems that they only check one item on the truck a day. No sense of urgency at all. I just assumed they don't care. I spoke to someone yesterday finally in finance. and they instructed me to go to the dealership and see about getting a trade in. When I called the dealership, they say that they have not received to go ahead to approve it. So I went to the dealership today and spoke with the manager Vince, and he immediately hit me with attitude. The aggression that he was showing was not necessary at all. And left me wondering why he was so confrontational and just out right rude. At this point the hell with auto max and the truck. My monthly payment is a down payment on another vehicle anyway. But I would never refer anyone else to auto max/MEI . I've been a loyal customer and this is my second vehicle from them. I've even brought me and my sister and my brother and my son to get a vehicle never again. The money I spent on Uber alone for the past 3 1/2 weeks is two car payments. Between the lackadaisical service department, the misinformation from the finance department and outright route, customer service from the dealership manager, Vince. Do not get a car from here, you will regret it. I got this car in mid APRIL, at the time I was about 3 or 4 months pregnant. Only problems that I had at the time was needing The A/C Fixed and my tire Plugged which my tire shouldve been completely replaced. Not even a week or two later my car didnt start. Ive had this problem on and off for some time now. I was sent to a tire shop the first time for the battery to be tested. The battery was good and the person at the shop stated it was the alternator the MANAGER completely ignored it because the price for the part plus their labor was $400 and he ended up sending me back to the shop who did my A/C to test the battery there. And the battery ended up getting replaced. Only for my car to be be back in the shop not even a week 1/2 later and this time, they found a leak Not even sure where but They kept my car for a whole WEEK, it was hard enough to get a loaner car, I was having to take lyft/Uber while missing work, and still having to PAY the car NOTE lol.... Just to fast forward to now, I'm 7 months pregnant and dealing with the same thing and it's JULY ! My car is having to be sent back for diagnostics for another additional 3-5 days and WHATEVER they come up with I am now responsible for the repairs as I am told, and that's absolutely absurb, i just got the car and About to have a baby in less than 2 months and I am now responsible for damages that already occurred before I drove off the lot with the car. My boyfriend wanted to get a truck and has pretty much no credit (no cards, etc.), so we decided to check this pace out. This is NOT the place to buy ANY vehicle. Joe the "owner" told us that he had been running a cash car lot THAT HE GOT IN TROUBLE FOR, and if that isn't a huge red flag, I don't know what is. Additionally, CarFax is a tool to use to determine whether you will purchase a vehicle. It is not a bonus you get when you buy one, as Joe suggested. Any reputable dealer will hand you the CarFax immediately. So I went outside, wrote down the VIN, and did some checks myself. Also, how are you supposed to sell a vehicle without knowing how much you're selling it for? I asked Joe several times for the total cost (sticker price, if you will) for the truck my boyfriend was interested in. He kept telling us a note price (and kept saying he'd never seen a truck note below $500/month. I do not believe that for a second.), which was ridiculously high. After an hour, Joe finally tells us the 2008 Ford F-150 is selling for $19,000. What??? KBB puts the truck at $9,250. I told him no deal, who's going to spend double the worth of a vehicle? He kept telling us that it's the financing he's selling. Well, he did a terrible job with that. He refused to tell us the interest rate even! Bottom line, everyone in this "dealership" should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of people with bad credit. They recently sold me a lemon. They will only off a 30 day warranty. After that the service department begins to bend you over and have their way with you. I only had the 2011 Jeep Liberty for a month and a half. 1.5 months and up to date on payments. The very next day after I bough it the leaf springs and shocks were broken the check engine light came on for an array of things which none was covered on the power train warranty I took it back and they said "well you can leave it and we can take a look but it doesn't look like any of that's covered in you're powertrain warranty " oh and for them to take a look was going to be 7days. and they still managed to remind me that that I need to pay my bill or I'll get repossessed. I have had major issues with my car from day one. Starting in October with brakes and oil leaks to wires catching on fire. The cars are trash and they are barely willing to help get on going issues fixed. The customer service is terrible i literally spoke with about 17 agents in the past week with no resolution. One agent name Gabriel who was suppose to be a supervisor yelled at me and refused multiple times to transfer me another rep who had better customer service. how can you deny me the right to speak with someone else?? i finally gave up and told them to come get the care i requested a voluntary surrender.
