So I really wanted a car. Tidewater financial approved me and assigned me to this dealership. Spoke with Dawn over the phone, and informed her that I only have one day off and I would like to come. Asked her for the address and she said she will send it to me. I waited and waited, next morning on my day off, waiting again I decided to text Dawn asking her for the addy otherwise if she is too bussy i need to start moving and find someone who would want to work with me. Oh boy, she called me trying to use reverse psychology, she was like you dont have to come I dont need your business. But she was mean about it. Finally I told her with her attitude I will not come. Then the text messages came, so I informed her that I will not get into the text message war I am too bussy for that and with so many companies in the usa i do not need to work with hers. After that she got quite but then started the calls from her employees. Finally some guy called and i informed him not to call anymore and all stoped. I just dont understand why would you be rude to a potential customer. I purchased a 33000 dollar vehicle. Imagine the money you lost. Would never recomend this place. read more

I would not recommend this place at all josh our sales person said the breaks were good on our vehicle and they do a 5 star inspection on our SUV we get it home check engin light comes on and the car is messing up we took it back now this is our 3rd time taking it back they say they fix it but don't . They test drive it and put 1000 miles on it this is all with I. 2 weeks and us not driving it. We asked for a different car they said no they are rude. And randy the service guy took me and my daycare kids for a test drive he answered his phone while he was driving us!!! read more

I don't recommend buying a car in this lot.. Josh is our sales person he told us he inspect the car in and out and there a sticker that the car is safe.. we find out the hard way it's not.. driving down the hill brake starting to vibrate, the rotor is shot and brake pad is crack.. not safe at all.. it's all good if you drive around in that area but the moment it heat up hill broke lose, the transmission is start to worn off this is the 3 time that my car is in the shop. And thy still can find what wrong with it.. and by the way we never get reimburse on that brake and on our time.. so don't buy from there read more

I bought a Jeep from them in September and I've already had to have it towed back to the dealership service twice! First I had to fork out $200 to replace the waterpump that was under warranty, and now I was quoted $500 to replace the radiator. I want to know why no one noticed this problem 2 weeks ago when it was being serviced, OR 2 months ago before I bought this vehicle from them. Let's start by saying if I could give a zero star I would. Last month I went with my friend to purchase a used arcadia. We were told to drive up from salem and test it out. Upon getting there the sales person chuck was quick to get us to test drive it. While test driving we could hear something ticking and when we asked whst the sound was he said it's nothing and turned up the radio. There were missing nobs on the back radio and water marks where the sunroof appeared to leak. The car was very dirty and when we ask about these things chuck said the car hadn't been inspected yet and they would do it that night. So that made us feel better that they still were gonna check everything out and clean it. We went home that night and then back the next day. We looked at the car and it seemed to be somewhat clean and they tried to get the water marks off the ceiling. I specifically asked chuck if they found any leaks from the sunroof. He assured me that there were not and someone had left the roof open when it rained. What a lie that ended up being. Mario the finance guy told us everything passed inspection and it was a great running car and would last a long time. They did some minor stuff during the inspection like changing the oil but said everything else was great. So my friend signed the papers and even got an extended warranty. While driving back to salem with the new car we realized that the driver window didn't even roll down. And when her child rolled down the back window it wouldn't even go up. The oil light came on not even 10 min later. The next day we called and asked about fixing this stuff Mario gave her a hard time saying they couldn't afford to put money in to the car and suggested her child broke the window motor. They finally ended up agreeing to fix the windows in the next couple days. After the windows were fixed and she had not even had the car 2 weeks good old oregon decided to rain that is when the car sunroof also rained so bad that several towels had to be kept in the car and every time you came to a stop you had to wipe the water off the dash. It was a night mare even though chuck promised us there were no leaks. We called back to auto town we had asked about just giving the car back because we had been lied to so much and everything was going wrong on the car. Mario told us it doesn't work like that and it's our problem now. My friend talked to the service manager about doing a diagnostic for the sunroof and they agrees to do it at no charge since the car was filling with water and soon would be mold. We took the car all the way back up there and the diagnosis ended up being there was 5 leaks in the the roof. Which was funny cause chuck promised there were no leaks. They decided to be nice and pay for half of the repair of the leaks and clean all the water out of the car for her which out of her pocket was 300 dollars. Are you kidding me she shouldn't have had to pay any. After a few days of having the car back everything seemed to be great until the Temps dropped below freezing and she found that when the car leaked water it filled the battery compartment which is in the floor board and completely froze over since they didn't bother cleaning out the water from in there when she had paid for the service of extracting the water from the car. So now she had to buy a new battery. While at les schawb they told her the tire tread was dangerously low so now she needed to pay for tires not even a month of having this car. After all that not even a week later so just 3 days ago the car broke down something to do with the transmission. We took it to an actually gmc dealer in salem and they just called her yesterday and told her that once they pulled the car apart to fix the transmission they saw that everything in there was so bad and managed like someone had tried to fix some of the problems but half assed. Now if the warranty won't cover it she will need to pay several thousands to have a running car that she was promised was in great shape passed all inspections. Auto town has been extremely deceitful and sold us a car that isn't what was promised. These people just want you to buy there junk and then make you feel awful when you ask them to fix problems they said were never there. My friend is a single mom of 2 trying to make it work but she can not put anymore money in to this crappie car. We will be writing the better business Bureau and looking into a lawyer as the dealership has committed fraud on selling us a car that wasn't what we were told we were getting. Please don't do business with these people. Especially chuck the sales guy and Mario the finance guy. read more

We had been planning our truck purchase for years and were ready to do it this week. We drove 1 hour after work in traffic to Auto Town 6/19/18 arriving at 6:00 pm, hoping to locate the ONE so that we can start enjoying it this weekend. Right away we were treated horribly by some bald guy. He didn't give us his name, nor ask our name. He had NO knowledge of trucks & options. He quoted the price, only to be disappointed as it was the lease price. We are BUYING, not that he ventured to ask. We were there an hour before he brought us a filthy truck from another lot. The truck had been driven in mud and had water spots on the interior console (someone must've forgot to close sunroof/window during rain). We couldn't tell if it had several scratches or was just dirty (It did have a scratch on the bumper). He didn't allow us to test drive and the gas light was on so we wouldn't have been able to. He continued to get agitated w/ any question about options and told us to "look at the window sticker". I think we only asked a total of 3 questions, as we have done extensive research beforehand. I then asked him if we were keeping him from something, since he was clearly agitated. He responded "I just moved 8 cars for you!" WOW!!! My family was floored! This should've been an easy sale, but instead we purchased at Carr in Vancouver 2 days after. read more

Please do not go here and buy a car, they are liars. I found a car on the internet that happened to be on their lot. I called and a salesman ( I am really stretching it by putting man at the end of sales ) named blake picked up and said that the car that I wanted was still there and it was a great car. I then told him that my mother was in the hospital and my rig had broken down and I just needed an honest deal no games and I needed to do it quickly. He promised me that they would do everything in there power to help me out. I showed up and blake ran into the room and said Abib would be helping me out and then ran out. Abib then came in and said what car are you here to look at, ( now I have have already talked to blake 4 times that day he knew when i would be there) So we went outside and i showed him what car. We walked over to it and it had writing on the windshield DO NOT DRIVE, i asked Abib what was this about he said he did not know the service dept. does not work on Sunday or Monday ( it was Monday ) He went inside and came back out and said that their techs said it was unsafe to drive. But of course he had all sorts of other vehicles that he could sell me. IT:S CALLED BAIT AND SWITCH!!! They had the car on the internet to get people on their lot. DO NOT TRUST A WORD THEY SAY. The sales man had 5+ hours to check and see if the car was ready for a test drive. In fact my wife just called them this am and they are still saying that the car is still available for sale. read more

When I purchased our car last year, I got the typical used-car-salesman vibe. Not only did the salesperson lie to me (she said the car was equipped with Bluetooth and it isn't), but the whole experience just felt so ridiculous it's not even funny. On to the service department now...one of the main service guys seemed to be great. I got along with him very well and enjoyed the help he gave me. The service dept. gave me several recommendations, though, that would cost me well over $1,000. I took my vehicle to another GMC dealership and NEITHER of those items that were "recommended" by Auto Town were recommended by the other GMC dealership. It was at that point that I realized this place is a sham. I will never go back if I can help it. read more

Fantastic experiance. Was quoted a price much less than any of the other dealers I spoke with on the first phone call. Flew in from Boise to pick the truck up. Cathy my salesperson met me at the airport in my new truck and drove me to the dealership. Paperwork was already done when I arrived. It was the exact price I was quoted on the phone. No extra fees, no bs. It literally took less than 15 minutes at the dealership to sign and pick up the keys. They arranged for financing under a tax id# with no hassle and beat the rate I was able to arrange by 3%. My wife and baby and I were on our way to dinner hours sooner that I expected for a fun night in Portland. Best car buying experiance I've ever had. I also wish I could give a zero or negative rating as well. I cannot believe the lack of caring after driving off the lot, the inability to respond to emails or calls, and the total incompetency of the financial department. Over a month ago I traded my vehicle in through AutoTown and thought we had come to an agreement and I was happy with my new car and that they were going to payoff my previous car loan. 10 days later I get a call from the credit union that my old car was financed through wondering where my payment was. When i told them I no longer had it and had traded it in, they were clueless. At that point I emailed the finance manager Gyrone asking what was going on and got no response. I then spoke with Blake and put the blame on the department who sends out the checks. Instead of checking on it for me or even transferring me he gave me a phone number to call and hung up.....great customer service....I then spoke with Amy who told me the check was sent out 2 weeks after I took possession of the car. Not sure why such delay and due to that additional charges occurred on my old loan and is now being reported to my credit as non payment. Now here it is a month and a half later and after a second check being "supposedly" overnighted 4 days ago the check is STILL NOT received!!! I also did the review AuotTown sent me and got no response. So if you want to be ignored after you drive off the lot and your credit screwed up head on in and see John and the rest of the crew there. read more

I took my 2003 Explorer to their service dept. My heater was blowing cold air. I was told it was a thermostat and needed to be flushed, so the total was $488. The next week the weather got colder and I noticed that it was blowing cold air. I took it back in and they told me it was the heater core at a cost of $1875. Kris told me it was a process of elimination. I called several service dept,'s and was given estimates between $600-900. I called the service dept. manager explaining my frustration with paying that much and not having the heater work. He offered to take $300 dollars off . Why would I pay $1575 when I can get it for less? I would NEVER take a car there or recommend them to anyone. Kris also told me that they are not a Ford service dept., but if they were unable to work on my Ford then they should not have made me an appt. I have since taken my car to another mechanic. He discovered it was a plugged heater core. He cleared it and charged me $85.00. read more

I bought a used car from this dealership back in May. A few days after I bought it my check engine light went on. I was told this was normal and that the problem will fix itself. This week, on my way to work, my check engine light went on again, and immediately my car started jerking and bucking. I called the service department and told them the issue and brought my car in. The said I needed two censors replaced (two of the most expensive sensors) and that it would cost me $800. I need my car for work and needed the issue to be fixed and quickly. My car was given back to me the next day and all seemed fine. The following morning I was driving to work and the same problem started, except worse. I called them and the said they would fix it right away. After getting my car back for the second time I noticed that it still didn't feel right. I brought my car back for a third time. They had the mechanic that had work on my car take it for a drive with me. He proceeded to explain why my car sounded and felt the way it did, but I was not convinced. Not five minutes after pulling out of the dealership my check engine light went on again. I decided to get it into a highly recommended mechanic right away. Thirty minutes into looking at my car the issue was clear... "Diag mil/poor running, test drive engine surging poor throttle response. Scan for codes found PO170 fuel trim problem bank 1 check engine data found front 02 sensor not switching at 0, long ft 27%, short ft 0. Check for VACUUM LEAKS OK, TEST EXHAUST FOUND FRONT AND REAR Catalytic Converter PLUGGED. RECOMMEND REPLACE Catalytic Converters AND 02 SENSORS REPLACED" Anyone who has a bit of knowledge about cars knows that this is not an issue that just happens one day. It happens overtime, and given the state these parts were in over a long period of time, which means, most likely the car was sold to me in this state. Not to mention the damage I have been doing to my car by driving it all these months. If I was informed of this earlier i would of been able to save a lot of money, and not damage other areas in my car. Also, there is a possibility that the two censors I had just spend $800 on them installing may not of been necessary. Unfortunately there is no way for me to find out know, which is very convenient for Mr. Randy and crew. I am a young, hard, working, single women trying to make an honest living. Whether this mishap was intentional or out of pure incompetence I was taken for a ride. I received no apologies or answers as why this had happened. I am sickened by the treatment I received, and I wonder how they all can sleep at night. read more

They may be ok in the Sales area but the Service area seems to be in the business of fleecing customers. I brought in a 2004 LeSabre that needed a $30 coolant fitting replaced and they came up with a laundry list of items totaling $3500. Part of that list included front brakes that had been replaced just 2 weeks prior. Oh, and they missed the part that actually needed replaced and charged me $210 for the time compiling their bogus list. read more

My car started having symptoms that something was wrong. I didn't know what it was or even how to explain what was happening. The check engine light wasn't on yet; and I had already replaced the fuel pump and spark plugs. I told them to take their time diagnosing it. A day later they called my husband stating the computer was dead. In order to do a diagnostic, we would have to pay them over $300 to fix or replace the computer ( I don't remember whether they said fix or replace; it doesn't really matter). We didn't trust them, so we picked the car up. Then they started saying the whole thing isn't dead, they just can't read it. We went to Auto Zone for a free diagnostic. The computer obviously works just fine, because it showed a cylinder misfire. We will never return to Auto Town Buick GMC. Never!!! A little advice for them, don't assume all of your customers are stupid. read more

Buyers Beware!!! I would give this negative zero stars, but that is not an option here. I wish I would have known better than to go here for a car! They seemed nice at first, but it was only to get a sale! While test driving my car, I felt a vibration which they said was just a tire balance issue that they could fix with no problem. We called to schedule the appointment & were told they would take care of us, fix my car with no questions & get us a rental to use since we drove from outside of Salem & I would need a car to get to work. When I took it in to get that fixed, we also asked that they check for an oil leak. My boyfriend, a mechanic, crawled underneath it & found an oil gasket seal on the oil pan & wanted to make sure they checked for leaks & he left it there. When we dropped it off, Randy acted like he didn't want to give me a rental that was promised & acted like we were putting him out by letting him know our concerns. When we asked about the extra car key for my car that was written up in the contract, he stated "we aren't buying you a key". I told him it was in the contract & they had to. He wasn't happy about it & told me to contact BMW about it. After dropping it off, they had my car for a week & never bothered to call & let us know what they found or what was going on with it. We called them & they said they felt the vibration, but the tires were balanced. My boyfriend asked that they put new tires on it because it felt like a tire problem. After arguing with Alex & Randy & telling them we wanted our trade in back & they could keep the car, they decided to put tires on. We called again, since they apparently don't know how to communicate to their customers, & they said it would be ready the next day. When my boyfriend picked up my car, the interior was trashed! Footprints were all over the seats, moss & dirt were all over the interior, the gas tank was almost empty, they didn't check for an oil leak (the gasket was still where we left it), & they had only put tires on the front. When he was angry about it, he asked to speak with Matt & was told he was on private property & would have to leave. The vibration was also still there! I ended up buying two new tires & a new set of wheels. We also purchased the extended warranty & while they were quick to sell it to us, they were in no hurry to send the paperwork to the insurance company that it was through! My boyfriend called the warranty company & they had no record of us purchasing anything! He had to call Alex, yet again, & asked about the warranty info so I could take it to BMW to have it checked, & he stated he hasn't sent it yet. It had been a month since I bought the car. Alex said he would fax it right over to them & never did. When my boyfriend called again, Alex said it had been over night mailed. The next day, the warranty company still had no record! Alex is a compulsive liar & Matt is a cheap coward that won't take care of his customers. I will never recommend anyone to this place ever! They are incompetent & have horrible customer service if you could even call it that! I got way better service in 2 hours at BMW than I ever could in a month at Auto Town!!! read more

I purchased a car at Auto Town Pontiac GMC Mazda. I have had fairly decent auto service and customer service bringing my car there for service. Auto Town sends out Coupons all the time. In November 2010 I brought in a competitor (Midas) Coupon showing a $19.99 Oil Change and Tire Rotation. The Auto Town Mazda Service Manager said he couldn't match that offer. I expected them to meet the offer somewhat. They didn't. I ended up paying $39.99 (basically twice the price) for the Oil Change and Tire Rotation. I absolutely will not get another Oil Change or Service at this location. I looked on their website for a Customer Relations phone number. It listed a guy named Blake and gave his phone number. When I called he didn't really want to talk to me. He tried to give me the Service Manager's phone number - who is the person who did not honor the coupon. He then tried to push me off onto another phone number. I told him it was obvious he didn't care about my situation or want to help me. This place should be avoided when considering service for your automobile. read more

We live out on the coast to car buying is alway a challenge. We used the USAA car buying program and they identified four dealership in the Portland area (~78 miles away) so most of our searching was over the internet and by phone text and email. Big pluses for us, is that we had our title in hand and a pre-approved loan check. I finally desicided on the vehicle, and out of the four dealership Auto Town rose above the rest, Josh, the internet sales manager was very responsive with prompt email and text. Once I arrive at the dealership, was is an older building and in a bit of dis-repair (Construction forth coming) but don't let that dissuade you. The customer service was very good. We completed the sale at the price advertised on the internet. They worked very hard to meet my trade valuation (based on the Black Book estimate). All in all it was a good deal. Thanks to USAA and Josh and the Auto Town team. As a final gesture, the owner came out and thanked us for making the purchase. read more
