I think the quality of the service is very good. It is hard to know with body work,. but after a few weeks, we haven't identified any problems and they provided a lifetime warranty to provide some confidence. Communication could have been better. There is a site listed in Bethesda but what they don't tell you is if you drop your car there, it will need to be taken to Gaithersburg for the work -- dropping in Bethesda they said would therefore add 2 days (one day on each end for delivery) to the service window. So I took it to Gaithersburg. They initially estimated 6 business days. Then they found a small additional amount of work which seemed to extend it to nearly double that, which was very bizarre. They did get it done a couple of days earlier than that which was great. Easy to work with though and they managed costs directly with insurance. read more

Incredibly rude. I called here to ask for availability on if I could bring my car in. My initial question was to ask if Autobody Dimensions had available times for me to drop my car off for the initial estimate. Before I could even finish my sentence the lady on the phone immediately interrupted me to condescendingly explain how their services worked before I could even get my question out about availability. After listening to her talk about something I had no intent on even getting information on, I had to repeat my full question and asked if they have availability next week. She again condescendingly said "I can schedule you on TUESDAY. We're CLOSED MONDAY." First off I didn't even ask if I could bring it on Monday? If she had even listened to my full question without interrupting me the entire conversation, she wouldn't need to waste my damn time on the phone with these condescending remarks. I am the Queen of car boo boos. A deer here, a parking lot pole there, and an occasional oops in the garage, it seems to become a car boo boo. I profess my love for Autobody Dimensions. They have taken care of my car 3 times in the last 5 years. They are experts and get the job done quickly and efficiently. I have worked with Torie on my last two jobs and there could not have been a nicer person in the field of bodywork. They work with most insurance companies and they work with the customers schedule. This is my second time bringing a nearly totaled car here, and both times they did a beautiful job. I originally dropped my car off in Frederick, and they moved it here because they said the frame needed replaced. The shop apparently was able to salvage the existing frame, and fix was I thought was an irreparable truck. They also offered to help get my rental car back to Enterprise so that I could avoid the hassle of driving around Gaithersburg on a Friday afternoon (anyone who lives here knows what I mean). If I have another accident, I will be coming back here for a third time -- but in a rarity for Yelp, I'm hoping I don't have to come back. As for DC traffic and their drivers? Scheduled an appointment to get an estimate on body work. Had to wait a week for an appt. Waited 30 minutes past my appointment time for a rep to even look at my car. Was told I would receive an estimate by email later that day, didn't receive anything until 4 days later, and only after 3 follow up phone calls. When I did receive the estimate, it was not for all the work I asked for. Follow up email, and was promised a revised quote, still waiting for that 3 weeks later. If this is the estimate, then I sure as heck don't want them actually holding my car "hostage" to their terrible customer service. read more

They examined our car and we brought it back when the parts came in. Our car was involved in an accident two years ago and we had taken it to Gerber. They did not properly fix it! Auto body dimensions is definitely one of the best bodyshops ever!!! My excellent condition mustang with 8,800 miles suffered some serious damage... $12,500 in damages from a front-end collision. One month later, they made the car look and run exactly the same as before the accident. I couldn't be any happier!!! They used only factory OEM parts. They even replaced my aftermarket parts (CAI) and charged the other person's insurance for that. Their staff is also very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend them and would return myself if I ever got into an accident. I sold the car 1 year later with 22k miles and never had a single problem with it. read more

My 1st assessment of this place was spot on 100% correct. Yesterday was my 4 (and hopefully final) trip to the shop and every single time, the service/professional work is consistent. After getting my car back, I had several other things that needed to be replaced, fixed and retuned. (Steering rack/fan motor/etc.) As annoying as this may have been for both me and the shop, Tory probably called USAA 10 times to get approval for additional parts not on the initial adjustment after the accident. I called or received calls from USAA 0 times (which is a good thing I hope!). He was able to acquire additional parts that needed to be replaced well over $2000 and I was covered by my initial $250 deductible. USAA must love this guy because he got me everything that he could possibly could to fix my car back to OEM specifications. Notes: I was on vacation in Mexico and they worked and took care of my car until I got back. My car finally feels safe to drive now. 2 months after the accident and Tory is still working closely on my case...what a guy. Will definitely come back for future body work/service. Yes, it's long; there are many reasons to these 5 stars. I don't give half-ass reviews unless I received shitty service. So let's get to it: Someone hit me on the driver's side and left a huge dent on my fender - bumper area a month ago. Way months back, I heard about AD's excellent customer service and was told to take my car there if ever I found myself in an accident. So I came here for an estimate 2 days from the accident and was impressed with how professional Sharon was. It was quick, straight-to-the-point, and painless from the appointment to the actual visit. She set me up with Tory, who gave me an estimate on my car damages. Tory treated my case as though it was his own by listening to all my concerns as I was showing him the damages to my car. He gave me a quick yet thorough estimate by walking me through the write-up. I left with a great first impression and it felt homely. However, I like to compare costs and value so I got an estimate from another shop that is more convenient for me but I didn't get a similar excellent customer service from AD (and mind you, I did get my previous car fixed at that local shop years ago). So when came the time for the insurance claim to finally give me a green light to get my car fixed, I chose AD because I was treated very well- familial almost. The great first impression stuck with me and now I'm here to validate that: I dropped my car on a Monday morning and asked Sharon if I could stay for about an hour, while I wait for my rental car. She immediately looked back at me in horror and asked if she could get me someone else. At first I denied the gesture since I already made a reservation but I really did not want to wait for that long since I had to be at work. It was very kind of her to call another company to pick me up and update the insurance company as well so I was very happy (and uber grateful)! Tory told me it would take about a week but would call me with updates- and yes, he sure did! I felt very secured and well taken cared of. I got my car back today and he looks like new again. I am very pleased and extremely impressed with their seasoned craftsmanship. Before I left with my car, Tory walked me through the repairs and showed me all the work they have done- now that is truly professional! Really happy I was assigned to him! I got into a minor accident with another vehicle during a snowstorm. The alignment of my car totally blew out! I was so concerned for my car. Luckily, I found Autobody Dimensions and I couldn't recommend them more! My car came back literally as if it was brand new right off the lot! It was like i got into an accident and got a new car. I have been going to Auto Dimension for some years now. I was quite happy with their work and have recommended them to my brother, other family members and friends. However my last experience was nothing but awful. One of my vehicles is a Lexus 450h. It has an impact sensor on the side that came loose. I decided to get it fixed by them. Trusting them more than Lexus dealership. The service guy assigned to my job was Kenny who gave me an estimate of $176 as he said that it would take 3-4 hours to remove the bumper and then install bracket for sensor. For Remove/install bumper, I was charged 1.6 hours. Additional hours were also charged for some touchup I dropped the vehicle on 11/20 and picked it up same day. However 2 days later the same sensor came loose again. Called Kenny on 11/24 and he told me to come at 11.00 on Friday (11/27). Went on 11/27. Shop was closed due to an additional day for thanksgiving. Called Kenny who said he meant the other Friday (12/4). So went on 12/4. Kenny had a technician replace and install bumper in 10-15 minutes (first time I was charged 1.6 hours) who said that it looked like something hit the sensor and bracket is broken again. Kenny said that they would fix it. Told me that they would order part and they would call after getting the parts. I waited till 12/9 w/o receiving any call. When I called, I was told by Kenny that they were late in placing the order, it was finally placed on 12/8 and I could come on 12/11 to get it fixed. On 12/11, Kenny called to tell me that the order was placed but instead of Gaithersburg it was delivered to Bethesda. I was told that he would call as soon as it gets to Gaithersburg. I waited whole week, called them today 12/18. Kenny told me that part came on Monday but they had been too busy to inform me. Kenny told me to come over and that it would take 30-45 minutes. So I dropped the vehicle on 12/18. There for no mention of any charge, no prior estimate given and I was going back the second time for the same work. They give a 1 year warranty for their work done. It was same sensor out of 8 sensors that came loose again in 2 days after repairs were done. I was sure that this was covered under warranty and I wouldn't be charged the second time. When I went to pick up my vehicle I was told I would have to pay $66 and they are doing a favor by giving discount. Labor was listed as 1 hour. Another person joined the discussion who said that he was 'the big manager' and his name was Abdi Barre. He maintained that it is not the same problem and someone hit the same sensor again in 2 days and that was the reason it broke. He spoke rudely and said that only alternative other than paying $66 was for me to leave the vehicle for 2-3 hours and Abdi would have the tech dismantle the whole thing again and remove the part. He wouldn't let me talk without interrupting and finally I had to ask him to give me just 2 minutes to explain. Finally I and my wife just decided to pay $66 and leave. We were not ready to trust them with our vehicle. In the past we found employees friendly and professional. This was a very shocking experience due to 1-2 employees among, we still believe, otherwise a good team. I just hope that the management doesn't let this experience be repeated on other customers. read more

I got my car repaired at the Bethesda location. 1. They told me to pick up my car after 5pm, but by the time I got there, they were closed for the weekend leaving me and another customer in a lurch. They do not have after work or weekend hours meaning that it's virtually impossible to pick up one's car the day it was repaired. 2. They agreed to do additional repair work on the car outside of what the insurance company was going to that I would pay for. This work was not completed, nor was I billed for it- the agreement to complete the work just "disappeared." read more

Seriously the best body shop around. After having been completely humiliated by another body shop raping my car (left with more damage, amazing), I went to Autobody Dimensions. INCREDIBLE job. They fixed every issue without a doubt, I had absolutely 0 reasons to complain. Whoever repaired my car stayed an hour and a half after closing to accommodate me, tested it with me, explained everything. After I got inside to drive off, I noticed that they also carefully hung a little bottle of touch-up paint (PERFECT MATCH TO MY PAINT) on the windshield wiper lever next to the steering wheel so I could touch up the results of those idiots who open their doors into my car. After writing it, I see this is a bit long - but sometimes the details are what help other customers make their decisions. So: A while back, my poor Acura RSX got 'punched' by a rock (or something?) that flew off the back of a truck. The trunk lid literally looked like it'd been punched, hard, right where it bends. And the stone apparently then skittered around my bumper, scraping off a few strips of paint. My dealer explained this was not a small fix. When he referred me to Autobody Dimensions (the Gaithersburg group), I was nervous. Hated the idea of being without my car for a while anyway, leaving it with a company I didn't know, was worried it wouldn't be the same when I got it back, hated the idea of a rental car, all that. When I went out for an initial look-see, I believe it was Harold who eyeballed it. When I blanched at the price - not having had to have something like this done since the days everything was made of metal and dings could often be handled with a rubber mallet - he explained in detail not only about what was different now, but also how they'd approach the work, etc. Sharon, the lady at the front, was meanwhile very helpful in figuring out timing, and both of them were quite knowledgeable about fine points of filing my claim, as well, which was a big help. She also made some suggestions that helped ensure I didn't have to wait too long to be picked up by the rental car when the time came, which I really appreciated. Made my calls to State Farm - for which this autobody shop is kind of a preferred provider. Came back for a formal estimate by Tory, another very friendly and intelligent soul, who in short order provided a detailed break-out and also answered a number of non-related questions (about the rental car, State Farm, etc.), again very knowledgeably. I left the car there on Halloween, and was greeted with smiles and jokes even though it was obvious that a couple of them were pretty sick. At this point, Tory told me I could probably get the car back today (Friday of the same week) - and they did! My car looks so good where they repaired it that I wish I could have them spruce up the rest of it! When I arrived with the rental, one of the other fellows held the office door open for me and helped me with a couple of totebags of stuff I was carrying. Then Tory very kindly walked me to the car (helping carry the stuff I was lugging), had me check out what they'd done, and made sure I was happy with it. When people have that kind of pride. it usually means they do good work, and it's nice to see (especially when it's your car involved!). By the time I got home tonight - at the tail-end of a Friday - I realized I'd left my much-needed car remote in the rental. I wasn't even sure they'd still be open. But one of the other fellows indeed answered the phone and then very agreeably went to look while I was on hold. He sounded as happy as I did that he found it. I'm going to be out that way on Monday so will swing by then. And I'm actually looking forward to going back there to retrieve it, they're that great a group. read more

I had my rear bumper and surrounding areas fixed by Autobody dimensions in Gaithersbyrg, MD. After the repair I found out that there were a lot of pieces missing from my car and more scratches on the body of the car. The rear bumber was fixed not properly and it has come out. One of the door handles were missing and another door handle was loose and about to fall. There was a 2"x2" scratch which was not there when I took it to the shop. The rear bumper paint job was done the cheap "Maaco" way. When I picked up my car there was no manager available to make a complain. Few days later, I took my car and talk to the manager JP who told me that none was their fault and they will not fix anything. JPs customer service skill level is extremely bad and the "F" word came out of him few times. All he gave me was lame excuses. I will never go there again and will not trust them at all! read more

I have unfortunately been in need of their services a number of times over the years. Most recently, I had my truck totaled in a rear-end collision and had it towed over a 100 miles to take it here. This is a top notch operation. Although my truck was declared a total loss, the performance of the AD team was exceptional. They kept me much better informed of the progress than did the insurance company. They are very professional, very knowledgeable and also very friendly people to deal with. In this case there was no repair, but in the past, the work that was done was exceptional. On one occasion they told me it would take a couple more days because they were not satisfied with the paint job. It was delivered 2 days later and the paint was a perfect match. Best I had ever seen! The repair team is also very willing to explain all repairs when asked. They explain the challenges of certain repairs, why some repairs are more expensive than they may seem and any other question or concern you may have. They take a lot of pride in their work. No one ever answers the phone at this place. If someone does answer they don't seem happy to help and they leave you on hold for really long periods of time. Don't give up! Stay on hold because if you hang up you will never get answered again. The body work is actually done really well, but I would be more inclined to go somewhere else just to know I would get treated better.
