Incompetent, expensive, unfriendly. Stay away at all costs. My car died in their driveway when I picked it up, it ran worse than when I brought it in. It died again a block away and after they agreed to tow it back at no charge, I ended up paying the towing fee. While I was making repairs in the parking lot a mechanic came out to "help" and then charged me labor. The general manager came out and screamed at me and threatened to call the police because I was test driving the car around the parking lot. What's not to like? read more

Efficient and Polite. Dropped off my Audi for a water pump repair, and once they got in they found it wasn't the issue. Instead of piecing it back together or charging me an additional diagnostics fee, they simply contacted me prior to proceeding. I didn't have to wait any extra days to get the car back and the difference in parts was minimal from the original quote for the water pump. I own a taxi company in Lake Tahoe and after all my experiences with mechanics i refuse to go anywhere else , even though there an hour away . My experience is I paid to get work performed and their warranty sounds great, but they marked-up their estimate extremely high to cover for it. So it's not a real good deal. My suggestion with them is to check parts costs before letting them work on your vehicle and compare it to other shops. It might make better business sense for them to not offer a warranty to keep their cost estimates more in line with their competition? read more

These guys are the crappiest and most dishonest auto shop I have ever been to! First I went there to have my 96 Tacoma aligned and they took my money and said it couldn't be aligned because the frame was bent. Not suspecting they were screwing me I believed them. A couple weeks later I went there with a friend, to whom I recommend this shit hole, and they gave him the same crap! They told him is brakes were going out and his wheel bearings were loose and couldn't be fixed! (we have tightened them ourselves in the past) this, as a result was their reason for not aligning it. After that they said they wanted to fix everything for 700 bucks! Right before they tried to rape us again they were on the phone feeding some guy the same shit they fed us, saying their car is unalienable and would cost them 700 bucks! After we got out of there the mechanic drove up my friends truck and after discussing the problems with his truck he stated he didn't even take off the tire and and started listing some bullshit problems for not aligning it that have nothing to do with the tires or suspension in general!! To summarize this long review, never go to automotion! You would get a better alignment driving into a brick wall at 90mph! read more

We moved to Reno from Southern California. Skeptical about not knowing anyone to fix our Jaguar, we inquired about independent shops for repairs. Of course, Automotion was a choice. Apprehensively, we walked into Automotion with our guards up, expecting to immediately be ripped off. We "tested" them, knowing exactly what was wrong with the vehicle. They were on spot! They knew exactly what the problem was and the issues with the vehicle were resolved immediately. We have invested thousands of dollars in the Jaguar, by choice. The repairs have been necessary for the proper maintenance of the car, which we plan to keep for many years to come. Automotion has been honest, professional, expedient, and friendly. "In a heartbeat" we would recommend this shop to any car owner. Bill and Rick, specifically, have been extraordinary and helpful in providing excellent service. I'm in the hospitality industry and understand all to well that it is generally unsatisfied customers that take the time to write reviews, so I wanted to update mine from a year ago. After another year of service for both my Audi and Lexus (both 04's) I can say that I've never had anything but a first rate experience here. Yes unexpected things happen to 10 year old vehicles and I'm not always thrilled at the expense of keeping them running, but I feel like the team at Automotion genuinely cares that I'm getting value for my money spent and if I was ever displeased, I have no doubt they would make things right. They work with me on priorities if I tell them that money is tight and give me heads up on things that may be coming down the road (so to speak). I also like the fact that I get a full service based on manufacturers recommendations and not a quick lube! Todays cars are incredibly complicated machines (even ten year old ones) and there could be dozens of reasons for any particular vehicular malady. Next day overheated again and after throwing another $1500 away on parts it did not need they said it was fixed again. The next day the check engine light came on. Let me start off by saying that I know a fair amount about cars and how they work and operate. However, I like to have a good mechanic to give me a second opinion on inspections and change my oil for convenience. I often try highly rated mechanics in the area to see if there is a better fit for me. Automotion was NOT that place. I took my car in to have the oil changed and tires rotated in mid August 2017 and they were very difficult. I had an appointment scheduled and had to wait 30 minutes before the service representative had time for me. After we got the details of the service taken care of he asked me if I needed the car back the same day. I said yes, it's a minor service and he told me he would squeeze me in even though I had a scheduled appointment. After dealing with that I went back at the end of the day to pick up the car and I waited for 45 minutes to check out. The service was expensive which I normally would not mind if the shop was high quality but the contrary was true for this shop. To top it all of they told me they could not reset my service light because their computer was not functioning. I asked politely if there was a way to do this myself as there usually is with most cars and I got a rude and disrespectful answer along the lines of "our computer cost 21000 dollars, you can't reset it yourself", following laughter. When I got home I reset the light myself in less than a minute. I will not be bringing my business to this establishment again. read more

They diagnosed the problem and provided different alternatives to consider. They located the proper replacement and installation was completed 2 days earlier than I had expected. They kept my '93 Volvo running until I decided to part with it at nearly 300,000 miles and still running like a top. We have a 2007 VW Jetta that has transmission problems. We brought it in to have it checked out and found out that it was the valve body (VERY expensive part). Mike was very helpful in working with us on the decision of fixing it or not. We ended up not fixing it, and Mike only charged us the basic check out fee. They spent a lot of time checking it out and research. I was very happy with the service that they provide. This is coming from the mechanic, who has a very pessimistic view of shops. read more
