BUYERS BEWARE!!! I…read morerarely leave negative reviews, but I believe consumers deserve to know about my experience. In May 2025, my wife and I purchased a 2025 Ram 1500 from Gary Yeomans Ford Knoxville. Before the purchase, we repeatedly advised the dealership that we already had financing through our own bank and did not authorize the dealership to run our credit. Despite that, hard credit inquiries later appeared on BOTH my credit report and my wife's credit report. The dealership later acknowledged that the credit inquiries were made without our authorization and described the incident as a "mistake". The matter is now the subject of pending federal litigation. I have since learned of at least 3 other individuals claiming similar issues with Gary Yeomans Ford Knoxville. Unfortunately our problems did not even end there. The truck was sold with a non-OEM Ford battery installed in what was essentially a brand-new Ram truck with only about 5,000 miles. When the battery failed, a Ram dealership refused warranty coverage because the correct OEM battery had been replaced with an aftermarket Ford battery. I was forced to pay out of pocket for a new battery and incur rental vehicle expenses. Despite being made aware of the situation, Gary Yeomans Ford Knoxville has still not made this issue right either. I encourage anyone purchasing a vehicle to carefully review every document, verify what has been submitted in your name, and check your credit reports after your purchase. If you purchased a vehicle from Gary Yeomans Ford Knoxville (or Lance Cunningham Ford Knoxville before the name change) and experienced something similar--such as: a hard credit inquiry without your authorization, your credit being accessed after you brought your own financing, financing submitted when you did not request it, or other issues involving your transaction, I would appreciate hearing from you. You can contact me privately. I'm not asking anyone to share personal information publicly, I'm simply trying to determine whether others have had similar experiences. 423-426-0430

Watch out for the hidden 2K "Advantage Plan". It was never discussed or brought up and we caught it and refused to pay it when signing documents. Google describes these advantage plans as "a junk fee scam that unscrupulous dealers add to pad profits. They bundle worthless items and charge you anywhere from 500 to 2000 for them and hope that you won't catch it during the high stress Finance and Insurance phase of your purchase." It was a great experience up until that point but it tainted my feelings and impressions of the dealership and I would never trust them again. Never got the 500 fuel card either.

He is a delightful man who has been with the dealership 20+ years and knows what good customer service is. He was kind and apologized profusely. He said this isn't how Gary Yeoman Ford wants to conduct business. He offered us several remedies to make things better. He went above and beyond and explained he would have a meeting with the service manager to see how to prevent this in the future. They were more than generous to us, and we truly appreciated it. The bottom line... we will be back and hopefully we will experience the level of customer service that Chuck showed us.

Two months after purchase, the sunroof stopped working. I had purchased an extended warranty when I bought the vehicle, only to find out at the service appointment that the sunroof wasn't covered. Fine these things happen. I agreed to pay out of pocket to have it repaired. What wasn't fine: $5,000 and THREE service visits later, the sunroof still does not work correctly. None of the buttons function as they should. I have to manually partially open and close it just to get the interior panel or the window to respond at all. This is not a fixed problem. This is a $5,000 problem that was never resolved. To top it off, I recently received a follow-up email asking me to contact them about my expired warranty and spend more money to "keep my truck protected." No acknowledgment of the ongoing issue. No follow-up on an unresolved repair. Just a sales email. If your service team is tracking customer history, someone should have caught this before hitting send. If they're not, that's an even bigger problem. I would not recommend this dealership. Buyer beware.

The differences between the two reports left me feeling that I did not have the complete picture before making my decision. When I brought my concerns to the dealership, I was hoping they would work with me to reach a fair resolution. Instead, I felt that my concerns were dismissed, and I did not receive the level of customer service or support I expected after the sale. My advice to anyone shopping here is to do your own research before buying. Don't rely on just one vehicle history report. Purchase both an AutoCheck and a Carfax, inspect the vehicle carefully, and consider having it checked by an independent mechanic before signing any paperwork. This review reflects my personal experience. I believe transparency and standing behind the vehicles you sell are essential for earning customer trust, and unfortunately, that was not my experience.
