The level of customer service here is simply amazing. I dropped by without an appointment on Saturday afternoon to replace an interior visor clip and the owner immediately jumped in to action. He literally ran across the parking lot to my car to help me. He took care of the job on the spot. He did not charge me for any service even though I insisted to pay. I have lived in this area for almost six years. I use to take my car there quite often. I thought Ryan was the absolute best and totally trusted him! My neighbors in the area were not happy that he left. I went there a few weeks ago because my car kept registering "Engine coolant low". Kasey came out to look at it and told me I needed a new radiator and pump, and it would be about $1,000 plus and to leave my car for the weekend. Luckily, I didn't because I was heading across the Bay to Woodside. When I returned from a weekend there I went to see another mechanic whom I knew. Well, he found no leaks or a bad pump. He said the car was registering low engine coolant because there should be half coolant and half water and my radiator was only full of water! Needless to say I was so relieved! So I bought some coolant at an auto shop and he put in the correct mixture. That was almost three weeks ago and it has been fine since! I was not happy with Kasey because I had taken it in one time before and I was told that I had a major leak which also was not true. Kasey is a very friendly and talkative fellow but don't believe all you hear! I might live in this area of Danville, not Blackhawk, but I am also under a small amount of income! I've been coming to autoTECH for years and they always do a great job servicing my Honda Accord, Honda Pilot, and BMW. Their prices are fair, and I especially appreciate that they are open on Saturdays. We recommend them to everyone - even family visiting when their cars need servicing. They don't try to sell you more than you need - they understand that not every problem needs to be serviced immediately. We are new in town and I contacted the shop to get an estimate on basic service work as I wanted to compare the prices to the dealership. When I called, Ryan asked for my name and phone number. I stated that I would call back to get the information, as I didn't want to provide my personal information at that point. When I called back, he would told me he could not provide a quote if he did not know who he was providing it for. Really? It was a pretty simple request. He just lost good, local business. It is not unusual for customers to call around and compare prices before making a decision. Forcing them to reveal personal information before they are comfortable is completely unprofessional. And by the way, every other service shop I contacted providing pricing with no problem. They will be getting my business. read more

This place is as good as it gets! For years this location was not much more than a kaleidoscope of ever changing oil service stations. They are now a real deal mechanic, so plan on getting your quicky oil changes elsewhere unless you're already having your car serviced for something else. Their pricing is competitive, but more importantly, and this is a biggie, they are totally honest about what has to be done. Here's an example: We bought my son a Nissan Sentra from this private party in Napa. This guy who was selling the car told us he had the car checked out at the Napa Nissan dealership, and Napa Nissan said it needed a full brake job. Plus, it was low on oil and he didn't know why. We got an amazing price and crossed our fingers. Autotech took a look and scratched their heads. They said the brakes looked good and had another 10,000 miles on them, and they couldn't find any oil problems at all. No work needed to be done except a standard oil change. The car has been terrific, with no oil or break problems and it's been about a 1 1/2 years. They could have easily taken us for a $1,000, but they didn't. I have more than one of those kind of stories, by the way. If I had to come up with a criticism, I'd say they could use some front end, customer service help. They guys are always having to take a time out from their work when someone comes into the office. It makes me a little impatient. read more

These guys are great. They found a component failure in a brake light problem another dealer could not find and fixed it economically. They also diagnosed a heat gasket problem with a company car and sent me to the dealer with the backup to get it warrantied. The owner here Troy is very knowleageable much more than just a parts replacer. Highly recommended. read more

Just picked up my car with its new starter motor ($628!!) Ryan has repaired my vehicles before and has done good work. But price fore diagnostics is sky high and not always necessary. This is my first visit to Auto Tech and I was so impressed. I realized today that I had what could have been a major emergency... Lots of oil on my driveway and not long after a recent oil change at another shop. Because it was closer, I drove straight to Autotech. I was waiting at 7.45am. Just before 8 am cars starting showing up and I went into the office. The man at the counter was friendly and polite. Even though there were others cars in the workshop he said he would check mine and hopefully let me know what was wrong in 30 minutes and he did. The oil filter had not engaged properly and it needed lots of oil. I went off to work and they called me in just a couple of hours. They replaced the oil filter and checked the motor ensuring I was safe to go. Troy, The Manager called me personally and made sure ti let me know to come back if I had any problems. Then I got the biggest shock! The bill was under $50. normally I can't get anyone to look at my car for under $100. Troy said it was an an easy job but I am very grateful. I could have been looking at a major engine repair. I was very impressed with the courtesy and efficiency.. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants prompt and efficient service. They just got a customer for life. Ryan ReBello knows how to put the customer first. Being new in town, I was not sure where to turn for help with what should have been a simple task of installing new California license plates on our Toyota Siena. But then I realized that after 10 years, the out of state plate had one screw rusted in place. The local Toyota dealership had two guys try to remove the screw (including use of a hammer drill torque wrench ... but no luck at the Toyota dealership.) They suggested I leave my car overnight for service. Fora rusty screw, seriously? Then I went to Auto Tech in Danville. Ryan ReBello came out and surveyed the issue...then he went right to work! He removed the back panel inside the Toyota Siena lift gate to attack the problem from both sides. Then he carefully drilled out the old rusty screw and cleaned out the threads to save the screw anchor. He then reassembled everything and had me ready to roll with new plates installed in 45min. To my surprise, there was no charge. Just a simple hand shake and a warm, "Welcome to California, we hope you love it here." Great service! The ability to problem solve and trouble shoot a stubborn task with an innovative solution that you won't find in the manual. Autotech just got another customer for life. Bravo! read more
