I hate feeling like I got taken. I never feel that way here. This location they just took over used to be one of those quick oil change places but don't be dissuaded by that. While Autotech can and will do oil changes (they just did mine today) they are a full service auto mechanic. The best part is that they have all the computers and equipment that all the luxury dealers have. They can 100% take care of your luxury car. I've had our Volvo, Mercedes and Infiniti serviced there. Finally an honest mechanic. This is one of the first times I have walked away from getting my car fixed and didn't feel like the mechanics were out to screw me. Yes it sucks to shell out hard earned cash on getting your car fixed, but Ryan (the manager, and a dang good one too), Troy the Owner (a very standup guy), and the mechanics I met are great, very helpful, and from everything I know about cars (which is just enough to be dangerous trying to fix it myself), they are VERY honest. So if you need to pay to get your car fixed or maintained I feel confident that if you do it here you are going to feel best about it getting it done at Autotech. Amazing work and honesty. I was told by my oil change person that my brakes needed to be looked at. So i took it into Autotech Tassajara. Ryan quickly got me checked in and then called me a few hours later. I was so used to hearing the bad news when someone called saying it was going to be X hundred dollars instead he said "your brakes don't need changing but your tires needed rotation so we rotated them." When I went to pick up my car Ryan charged me just the inspection fee of $30 and nothing for the tire rotation. Where in the world have you seen mechanics like this before? Had my oil changed here. Routine work obviously but Casey nailed it. In addition to changing the oil, checked my air filter and let me know it didn't need replacing. The dealership I went to last time billed me $80 for a filter at the 10k mile service and didn't ask if I needed one. Also filled the tires and let me know what they were at. The 10k mile service and the 20k on my car are identical, primarily changing the oil. Cost me $300 at the dealership though and $80 here, with a better experience. read more

My family and I just moved to San Ramon. One of my concerns about moving here was finding good restaurants to eat, parks to play, where to get my haircut and of course a great auto repair shop. One of my windshield wipers was not working so I looked for help from Yelp. AutoTECH replied promptly. Kasey offered to fix it for free if it was a loose nut or give me an estimate if it was something more complicated. Others were quoting me $80-$128 for a diagnostic. I have used autoTECH twice over the last month for two different cars. They did a full brake job on my older MDX. I then brought my Lexus to them for an oil change and tire rotation that the dealership wanted more than double the cost of what autotech charged. They do quality work, they are efficient and very reliable and they kept me well apprised of the status of the work - without me having to call to check in on things which is often the case with other shops. Ryan in the front office is a great guy. Very trustworthy, accommodating and easy to work with. I just get a good all around vibe from Ryan and this shop. Been living in the Tri-Valley for a year. Moving to a new place I look for a few things, good Indian Food, a barber who understands my weird hair and a mechanic you can trust. My VW TDI was in need of an oil change, and general once-over. I read a few reviews about this place and I felt they would be a good place to go. I am glad I did. If there was more then 5 stars I'd give Kacey @ autoTECH BLACKHAWK more! I was driving home from picking up my son from his high school. I heard a really bad scratching/grinding noise. I have had SO many problems with this car in the 2.5yrs I've had it. Most at least thankfully are covered under warranty! I was going to drive it in to the dealership as I assumed it was yet another defective/covered by warranty item. But I decided to just pull into autoTECH as it is on my way home. I asked Kacey if he could just "take a quick look" and tell me if he thought it was safe to load up my other children and drive more then 20 mins to the dealership. Without hesitation, knowing I was planning to take it to the dealership... Kacey asked if he could drive it around the block. As soon as he pulled out on the road he felt something fall off! He pulled back into to the shop and had to run up to the road to retrieve it! Turns out the metal fuel pump tank strap was missing a bolt and was rubbing/grinding on I think he said my drive shaft and it could have caused major problems!! Kacey lifted my car in the air, added the appropriate bolt & sent on my way! Kacey was extremely kind and very generous to just help me out!! As a mother of 5 kids not having to drag my kids to the dealership, on a school night during dinner time is priceless!! Not to mention had I drove ANY FURTHER the metal strap would have been long gone and who knows if that is a part Cadillac keeps in stock! I'm driving a field trip Monday morning and if my car had to be in the shop... I don't know if they would have had enough drivers/cars to transport all the kids!! Thank you SOOOO much Kacey!! I have never before written a negative review on Yelp. My experience with AutoTECH Blackhawk was so disappointing that I want to give others a heads up. I had AutoTECH change the oil on my vehicle. As part of the service they sent me a note that recommended I have them change the cabin air filter and perform an alignment. Along with the recommendation they also sent a photo of a filthy cabin air filter. None of this sounded correct. As I have this vehicle, a significantly modified FJ Cruiser, typically maintained by Mudrak Custom Cruisers in Sonoma. Mudrak is arguably one of the best FJ shops in the world. I rejected the recommendations and picked up the vehicle. It does not need an alignment but I wrote that recommendation off to AutoTech perhaps not having familiarity with this type of custom build. I ordered a cabin airfilter to install myself. It is a simple five minute effort and the filter itself is a $30 item. AutoTECH had quoted $175 for the work. When I pulled the existing cabin air filter is was clearly new and in near perfect condition. Mudrak had changed it when they last worked on the vehicle 4k miles ago. Bottom line, AutoTECH had not looked at the filter, they sent me a picture of a filthy filter implying it was mine, and wanted an obscene price for work that was totally unnecessary. It was a dishonest effort to take advantage of a customer that they assumed to be vehicle ignorant. Use care when approving AutoTECH Blackhawk suggested work. read more

Really appreciated the way this place handled service request I went there with. Took my Prius for head light bulb change. Came here a few times, usually always when I have emergency issues. When my tire air pressure was low and I had no idea how to tell if I put enough air in, I went and asked for help and again when I had the lights on my back plate go out and needed it done ASAP, so I stopped by to have it fixed. I highly recommend Autotech. My 1997 Ford Expedition failed smog check due to "Check Engine" light on. Autotech diagnosed the problem and fixed the broken EGR sensor quickly and completely. I was then able to pass the smog test. Ryan and Troy were very nice and professional. read more

Just moved in from East Coast, my BMW has a sensor malfunction warning light on. First approximation is to call the local dealer, they won't even want to look at a out-of-state car for a week. I checked Yelp site and found Autotech nearby with raving reviews. I was not disappointed. The owner, Ryan, was able to run a quick diagnostic on my car and have problems fixed, car cleaned and smooth running the very next day. Everyone in the shop is friendly and courteous. Since then, I have to re-visit the shop twice for other minor annoyances such as low tire pressure warning and oxygen sensor readiness verification for smog check, in both instances, Ryan was able to help address immediately without any charges. I had my Range Rover autobiography in for a second opinion as based on my previous experience have some serious trust issues with Livermore Land Rover dealership service dept. Less than 24 he of my service at dealer the warning sign came for "suspension Fault". I took my car back which they kept for 4 days to first tell me wires were lose. Then they called me with repair on suspension. I took my RR to local very friendly AutoTECH shop, not only they were highly professional and proficient, came to find out no fault on suspension. Computer needed to be reset!! They recommended two additional fixed after running thorough diagnostics (sent me treatment plan with pictured and clear cost). Bottom line is: Team Casey & Kelly were organically genuine and friendly!! Quality of work was outstanding. PUNCTUAL, INTEGRITY, FRIENDLY AND QUALITY ARE THE POINTS I'd LIKE TO HIGHLIGHT!! When I went to them over the last few months they seemed to be great I was thinking how wonderful to have a repair shop around the corner until yesterday - I had been in the shop the day before and Vince told me the problem was not worth repairing as I was going to be getting a new car - well yesterday I woke up to a dead car in my garage - of course I had a choice to insist they fix my car but it would have been expensive - anyway I called them they informed me they would be over to jump it and take it to the shop to find out the problem after an hour i called and asked when they could be there he told me around noon - 12:10 I called they were at lunch 1:10 I called and they would try to get over as soon as they could at 2 I said well I guess maybe I should call Ford and get a tow to Walnut Creek and he said that would probably be best - in my opinion, since he told me the day before not to bother with a repair I feel he should have been on it to get my car over to his shop and look at it at least - now I have spent lots of month getting a jump, now i have to rent a car for days as I didn't get into Ford until around 4 on Friday - if I could give this place a -10 I would for customer lack of service - unbelievable - obviously I will never go there again and anyone with more than a new battery change I urge you not to bother with them. read more

Kacey and his team really understand the business and provide outstanding service. They are taking all the needed precautions with regard to Covid-19, so you can feel confident taking your vehicle to them. I had a particular nasty problem with my cooling fan not working on our Ford. I am pretty comfortable working on cars, but could not solve this issue, even after consulting every Ford forum and post on this issue. I explained what I was seeing, Kacey and his team listened and then performed their diagnosis, eventually finding a blown megafuse. A little while later, I discovered some issues related to the fuse adjacent to the one that they replaced. It turns out that some previous transmission repairs by a dealer service department were likely not done in a particularly professional manner, as the adjacent fuse was literally rattling when they showed it to me. Kacey only charged me for the new fuse, despite having to take apart a fair number of components to get to the mega fuse block again. Kacey is always fair, matter-of-fact and honest. We are very fortunate to have such a good shop so nearby...we highly recommend AutoTECH Blackhawk! read more
