No matter how rare or obscure the part, they've always been able to find what I needed from the right manufacturer. I've purchased parts here for everything from 80's/90's-era Mazda rotary-engined sports cars, older American cars, and modern German cars. In my experience, their prices for the same exact parts and fluids - from both OEM and aftermarket manufacturers - are almost always notably less expensive than what I'd been quoted from other shops, including big-name auto parts chains. Never once, in my personal experience, have they been more expensive. I live ~10 miles away from this shop, and have for years, and it's not just the good prices that keep me coming back. It's the staff. Lots of times, I got into parts stores with questions either about how to go about doing something, or which parts to use. The staff at the big-name places like Autozone or O'Reilly's typically haven't got a clue, or only know as much as their computer tells them right then and there (which is, typically, to buy some cheapo Chinese replacement part and call it a day). The isn't the case at all at North Suburban - their staff clearly have a ton of experience, and they're friendly guys who're always willing to give a customer advice. More so than anywhere else I've ever gone, these guys are consistently willing to give a customer face time to make sure they get exactly what they need and know how to go about installing it or performing the repair. Just awesome. It's a real shame places like these seem to be an endangered species these days. Even if I'm bringing my car into a mechanic to get some large amount of work done, I go here first to get the parts. That way, not only can I be 100% certain that good quality parts are going into my car, but after having just done this for the third time, I save a considerable amount of money on the parts.

What's hard about pulling two screws with the correct tool (that we know you have), pulling out an old bulb, putting in a new one and screwing the screws back in? I went to another O'Reilly location and they did it for me in less than 10 minutes. Seems like the staff here were lazy and just didn't want to do it.

The second store was much nicer and actually gave us the RIGHT PART. And most importantly-- IT WAS LIKE 50 BUCKS CHEAPER (whole part was basically 400$). So this store charged us for the MOST EXPENSIVE AND NOT CORRECT FOR OUR CAR ALTERNATOR. I was impressed by Ross's product knowledge as well as his research into the various alternatives 'shields' that were advertised. So who 'shields' a Honda Fit? Well, it became clear during only 1 months driving on suburban streets and highways roads that the sloped front hood, lower air dam, and side mirrors would look like the moon's crater in a matter of months- and I didn't want that look for a new vehicle that I planned of keeping for several years- so I called Ross. I was impressed by the installation by the technician (Strapp) and his attention to detail as well as his professional attitude and politeness. Once the 'shield' was installed I didn't even notice it on my car. The coverage was comprehensive and the transparency of the film/shielding material allowed the smooth finish of my paint to shine through. I seriously didn't think it was done until I looked closely. We had the work completed in our garage and it took only 2 hours w/o any mess or cleanup. Your car is an investment/asset, and like any investment/asset you want protection or insurance for when you really need it. The Roadblock product installed by Midwest Autobahnd does that for me!
