1. The Service Technician: Keith is the main reason for giving this experience a 10 and a 10 to recommending this dealer to colleagues, friends and family. This is the second time, we have been assisted by this service technician, Keith, and both times - he was clear; educated us on the issues detected and on the suggested solutions. He is very knowledgeable on the brand, the models, and on what might be some of the issues encountered. 2. Subaru America & Suburban Subaru should promote this service tech to "Chief of Online Service Support" to Subaru owners that would like to connect via zoom/video call with a technician prior to bringing in the car for service. 3. We are a nationwide subaru family with family in texas and california who are both subaru owners, but some of their experience with local service has not been as exceptional as mine. Specifically, my younger brother in Southern California took his subaru into the Santa Monica Subaru Service Center for regular oil change and other mainteance before a long family trip. After picking up the car, and heading on Highway 10 towards Palm Springs - he started smelling smoke and hearing a sound - bottomline was that the service tech who changed the oil did not tighten the screws and he was now faced with an emergency and had to go to a dealer in route by Ontario Airport where he had to leave the car for several days. So we are cautious about our car service, and that is why when we find a dealer service facility and a service technician as knowledgeable and helpful as today's tech, Keith, is important that they are recognized so they can help in train others locally and hopefully nationwide. I replaced my failed OEM battery this week after it dies. Took car and battery in to get tested. They thought it was weird I didn't want to drive my car with a bad battery and already removed it. Finally, they decide to test it, battery is confirmed bad. They then tell me my only option is to put the bad battery that makes my 2021 WRX STI start and run poorly back In and let them retest. Bought cars from this place. Had service done here. Thought this would be fairly straightforward. Amazed the mechanics found it strange that I wanted to install a battery that actually worked on my own and then sought warranty replacement instead of the other way around. read more

Had me jump through hoops, ran 15 hard inquiries on my credit score. Had me sign papers like the car was mine, ran home got the title to my other car for trade in, I took everything out of my car and put it in the middle of my living room ready for trade in then when I got back to the dealership they said I need co-signer after all of that! Horrible experience I was raked over the coals. They should of had an idea of the way banks works, what they accept and don't accept. Instead of putting consumer in torment. I can take partial blame on this one as I should have asked ahead of time but $70 for an oil change on my 2012 Impreza is bonkers. I have never had such a high priced oil change at a dealer before. Add in the fact that I got halfway home and my low engine oil light came on and I had to go back and get it topped off, is why this was the one and only time I will be going to Suburban Subaru for maintenance. But for positives, they didn't charge labor to replace my cabin filter or fog light bulb, the parts dept staff was very friendly and they have a nice selection of beverages in the waiting room. read more

RIP OFF PLACE*****For a tire rotation, oil change and inspection they charged me almost $300!!!! I would not go back, but we are stuck with the maintenance contract through Suburu. It seems as though they are only in business to take their customers hard earned money and put it into their pockets!! Talk about a rip off of $300 for a 'level service', next time I'll just take it to a local Oil Change Facility for $29.95...At least I'll get hot coffee with that service and will take only 20 minutes tops to complete it. read more

Suburban Subaru service department CRASHED my 2011 Subaru Forester not a year after I bought it when I brought it in for service. Instead of calling me and telling me what happened, they called and asked "Was there any previous damage to the rear right panel of the car?" Are you flipping kidding me?! They had backed the car up into a bucket of ice, and were calling to ask if it was already damaged. Aside from this they COMPLETELY overcharged me to get a remote started installed, and gave me a rental car with McDonalds garbage in the center consol. This is not a place I would ever do business with again. read more

We were stopping by Rein's Diner for lunch on our way back to Boston when the trunk on our 2018 Subaru Outback refused to close (probably bc our trunk was jam packed with the kids' christmas haul), no matter what we did. We called roadside assistance, whose only suggestion was to send a tow truck. Fortunately, Suburban Subaru was only 1.5 miles away. They took us in immediately, diagnosed and fixed our problem within 15 minutes, and refused to charge us or take a tip. We were relieved and grateful. Thank you again, Suburban Subaru! read more

After being quoted $140 just to program a new key for a subaru I just purchased from Bertera Subaru, I called suburban and they only charge $65 to program (the key itself is another charge). I ordered a spare key from them and when I picked it up, they were so friendly and were able to program it right then. It took less than 30 minutes. read more

They addressed all of my concerns and continue to provide a stellar experience! These service department is great, they are all so friendly, don't give you the run around and are extremely quick and knowledgeable. High prices for fixes are a given so if you can change your own breaks I'd recommend that. But for big jobs they know what they're doing. They offer coffee and juices and water while you wait and if you need SPT parts for your rex this is the place to go. I just bought a daily driver and have been bringing it there to get serviced now. Roberto is the guy you need to see if you're buying a car. He is friendly and respectable, every place I went prior would call me days after asking when I was coming back to purchase my car but he said to me whenever I'm ready to come back and did not hassle me afterward, so I went with Suburban. Every time I'm there now the Roberto ALWAYS comes back and checks on me and asks how the car is running. read more

Bought out new Subaru here 3 years ago went today for an oil change and to replace the wiper blades. Apparently even with an extended warranty if you can not produce the old Subaru wiper you are not covered. So if like me and you get hit with a chunk of snow in upper state New York you better stop and pick up the parts on the highway instead of stopping at the nearest auto parts store. I should have known how petty they were when they didn't even send me the $50.00 when our daughter bought her car there. Love the car but will be going to a different dealer in the future Mark Derrick After speaking with the service manager I see that mistakes were made on both sides but he offered to replace my wipers free of charge even though the warranty was up and make good on the $50.00 for the referral. My son bought his car in for and oil change on Tuesday afternoon. The mechanic showed him the air filter to decide if he wants to have it changed or not. My son said no because he can probably change it at home himself. When he got home he wanted to check the air filter to see if they banged it out. Not only did they not banging out, which I understand if you're not changing it why touch it. But my son notice a mouse nest. I did call the next day to make a complaint. I can understand that banging out the dust from the filter but to leave a mouse Nest was unnecessary. Suburban Subaru did Apologize, but I think they need to talk to their technicians about overlooking something like that. read more

They are super genuine, honest, and know what they are doing with Subaru's. I went there in December 2013 to buy a car, and the sales man asked me about the condition of my car. He then asked for the keys to my old Nissan Altima. He popped the hood of the car to look at something. Ans it dawn on me that it was a strange gesture. A few days later, my car stopped suddenly on the highway, in the middle of I-91. Immediately, I thought about the sales guy and wondered what he did when he looked under the hood of the car. I had to call triple A. My car was dead. There was no recovery. This was odd, how it slowed before it came to a halt. I can't help thinking the man did something to the car to prompt me to buy a new car. I usually buy a used car. But because of the dramatic way the car stopped, I was pressed to buy a new car at another Subaru dealer in Hartford. read more

I came in last minute with no appointment for an Emissions Test before my DMV appointment and they saw me, got my paperwork started and had my car ready to begin testing within 5 mins of me pulling in. Service center has terrible wait times. Quoted 1-2 hours and it's been 3. It's a part change - not a detail job. You can schedule an appointment and be out of a car well beyond the quoted wait time and told that loaners aren't available. Individual service rep quality ranges too. Absolutely my worst experience with service at a dealership or business of any type. I purchased my 2015 Subaru wrx at another Subaru dealer in Mass for price reasons however Suburban is the closest dealer to my home. The car when I got it had already had a clutch and throw out bearing replaced. Within several months after buying it the throw out bearing began to loudly whistle constantly. I have never launched my car from a stand still or anything of that nature. Reasonably docile driver. I brought it in and after almost two weeks finally received it back with a new throw out bearing. Within several weeks the sound returns so I bring it back. No power modifications whatsoever have been made to my car at this time. The techs claim they can't hear it and that it wasn't an issue mechanically so not to worry. I figured that as long as mechanically it wasn't an issue, I could get used to the sound. Long story short about a year later my car stops staying in gear, clutch won't fully engage. I take it to a trusted mechanic because their quote for a clutch repair was about $1000 less than dealer. The mechanic tells me that the throw out bearing was not properly installed and that the clutch had never been engaging fully. The throw out bearing failed and the clutch pitch fork attachment snapped and damaged the transmission. I assumed it was clutch failure because the car was reaching 70k. The mechanics told me it was nothing to do with power, just poor installation and that it's something that would definitely be under parts warranty if a dealer installed it. I have the car sent to Subaru on a flat bed assuming they would at least take partial responsibility because they had previously said that the throw out bearing was fine and not to worry. Even though it had been replaced twice and was still having issues. Well you probably already guessed it......Subaru claims it wasn't their fault in any way, and actually ended up having Subaru of America tell me. No one in the service department would even talk to me or take the time to explain why they believed it wasn't their fault. A dealer that I'd been a loyal customer of for years. As well as my wife and both her parents who also had Subaru's. After an absolute battle spending almost an hour on the phone trying to get in contact with someone in the service department I have to nearly shout at some poor receptionist(I had been transferred and disconnected many times by now, I'm so sorry btw to whoever that was) that I just want my car to be picked up sent back to mechanics shop who had a tow truck waiting all this time(Larry's, an absolutely awesome place, highly recommend) and that I need to be connected to a manager. Finally was able to pay the "assessment" fee of $150 and have my car sent back to Larry's. Larry's crushes it and fixes my car in less then 24 hours. If you actually read this whole thing I'm impressed and I appreciate it. All said and done over $3,000 later my car drives again. Suburban Subaru completely denied any responsibility and never even bothered to tell it to my face. As I'm assuming you guessed by now.....I definitely would not recommend taking your car here. read more

For 16+ years of loyalty, they drove to my elderly mom's house to buy her car & again, to deliver the check. How convenient is that ?? THANK YOU ALLAN !! Also as my car needed a big repair job, Jose went out of his way to make sure everything was ready as far as paper work & loaner car so no delay to get me to work in the morning, and due to a lot of repair work I needed on my aging, but still very enjoyable car, i rec'd various discounts.
