Autumn Moon...the OG buffet of Mesa that's been around for as long as you could remember. Probably the same tables & decor that's been here since opening too, as it's quite a bit dated. A very small & simple buffet consisting of 13 items to choose from, including fried rice, egg foo young & my personal favorite- sweet & sour pork. Lunch time dine in pricing is $12.50 per adult plus drink. I feel it's a little high for the limited items they have to offer. Other protein options include lemon chicken, orange chicken, salt & pepper chicken, beef w/broccoli & more. When ordering for take out, keep in mind you are only limited to ONE protein option, however they do load the box up pretty good! Everything was really great, from the food to the service. They checked on us frequently and refilled drinks as needed. Inside was clean as well. I've been coming here since I was in diapers, and I will continue to dine here for years to come. Don't judge the book by the cover, you'd be surprised!

I'm baaaack! OMG I love this place! Met up with my long time friend and his wife for lunch today. He and I ate here at least 3 times a week from 1978 to 1995! This will always be in my top 3 favorite restaurants. Consistently good food!

It's a greasy spoon for sure, but the food is delicious. I eat here every time I'm in town. Going on 40 years now.

Roaches crawling on the wall and the tables in the dining area. Staff seemed uninterested.

For years I have driven 25 minutes for takeout and never regretted it. High decor -No, limited selections -No, quiet -No, great food -Absolutely, incredibly friendly and pleasant staff -100%. Our typical order is a large General Chicken with extra sauce and Malaysian fun chow. The general chicken is perfectly breaded, deliciously flavored, slight bite and an uncious taste making you want more. The Malaysian fun chow has wok fried wide rice noodles with a hint of char, shrimp, bean sprouts, onions, veggies and a light but savory taste. Another home run! Don't let the exterior or inside decor persuade your judgement. Hands down the staff is second to none and the food is fabulous. Asian Cafe Express is an incredible value for the food quality and portion size. Trust me, if you give them a shot, you will also be ordering here for years. To the staff, fabulous job and thanks!

A Mesa Asian District Gem Worth Seeking Out…read more Asian Cafe Express is a lovely strip mall gem near H-Mart in Mesa's Asian District, and after 21 years in business, it clearly has a loyal following for good reason. We brought in a fresh lobster from H-Mart to try their "bring your own seafood" cooking option and chose the garlic onion stir fry preparation. It's $14.99 for anything under 2 lbs and $7.50/lbs for anything over. It came out excellent, served over crispy egg noodles with classic Asian flavors and plenty of wok-fired goodness. We also enjoyed the Peking pork ribs, which were deboned, tasty, and slightly sweet; the stir-fried green beans, which were fresh and well prepared; and the garlic spicy chicken wings, which were especially flavorful and highly recommended. The red bean drinks were traditional and satisfying, with soft, nicely soaked mung beans and no milk. Service was friendly, efficient, and personal, handled by a couple of ladies who clearly know the restaurant and their customers well. While we were there, plenty of regulars came in for takeout and several tables were happily dining in. Overall, we really enjoyed Asian Cafe Express and were surprised we had not stopped in sooner. Highly recommend, especially for the "bring your own seafood" cooking option and the garlic spicy wings. We will definitely be back.

Passed it twice but finally found it tucked between a McDonalds and a vacant adjacent business. Once we found it there were plenty of open spaces in the lot just south of the restaurant. Atmosphere 4/5 Curb appeal left a low initial impression as the business pads in the complex are a bit dated. Inside, the dining room was clean and not busy at all. Most of the business while here was call in pick up orders. Service 5/5 Given we were the only customers in the dining room we essentially enjoyed private service which was friendly, prompt. Food 5/5 Dim Sum is run by a family and serves Cantonese style food which is different than other regional Chinese dishes. Variety is a beautiful thing. Our order was a sampling of dishes to get an idea of what the food was like. Ordered steamed pork dumplings. Beef brisket and tendon soup. BBQ pork fried rice. Singapore Chow fun. Everything was delicious, my favorite was the brisket soup. To die for flavor backflipping good. My second favorite was their pork dumplings then the fried rice. All entrees came with very generous portions and could easily be shared. I brought home plenty for leftover lunch Saturday. I was so very much looking forward to the dim sum here from other reviews, but didn't enjoy most of the items. The skin on the har gow and the shu mai were inedible. It's like they left the items on a hot well for a few hours and then served it to us - not fresh at all.
