My husband and I have had a tradition ever since we started dating of trying different Chinese restaurants for their lunch specials. We always order the same dish so we can really compare how each place does it, and it has become one of our favorite traditions. We went to Golden Valley today, and it is safe to say they had the best version of my favorite dish so far. It really stood out from everywhere else we have tried. Another thing that impressed me was the egg roll. Most lunch specials come with one, and honestly, they are usually not up to my standards. I almost always end up giving mine to my husband. But Golden Valley's egg roll was to die for. It was crispy, flavorful, and actually something I wanted to finish myself. The service was also perfect. They were attentive without being overbearing, and they kept my water filled constantly, which is a huge thing for me when I am dining out. If you are looking for a cheap, delicious lunch option, Golden Valley is definitely the place to go. We will absolutely be adding this one to the top of our list. read more

Great food, Great service, and perfect environment. Not super overwhelming when you walk in just the right amount of stuff. Food was super tasteful and probably the best chinese food ive ever had. The young waiter with the curly hair was super quick and cool. My girlfriend and I got the spicy orange chicken and the spicy mongolian beef with wonton soup and hot & sour drop soup. Breaks my heart to write this... but I've been eating here for 30 years and it was always consistent and on point no matter what you ordered, hands down best Chinese in town! But last year the owner Tom sold the place and slowly but surely, it's gone downhill. New owners said they weren't gonna change anything and at first they didn't. But slowly they started changing recipes, using different brand ingredients and cuts of meat and portions sizes have been cut back dramatically as well. My last time in I ordered a beef dish and took two bites of the meat and realized it was rancid, the meat was spoiled!! It tasted sour and had that weird odor to it and immediately my stomach started churning. Told the waitstaff and sent it back right away and it was taken off my bill. They tried it for themselves and then apologized. I couldn't get out of there quick enough and needless to say after all these years, I will never be back and I would strongly urge anyone else to steer clear. read more

This is a hidden gem! Tucked away inside a plaza, but well worth the find! The waitress Steffanie was absolutely amazing! She was tentative, friendly, and engaging. I will definitely look for her in the future when I come into this restaurant again. I had chicken lo mein, and it was very good! The serving was massive! Place has changed hands and the food is not quite what it was in the past. We ordered only appetizers, so can comment on any entrees. The dipping sauce for the Pot Stickers is much sweeter than in the past and lacks the large amount of crushed red pepper that made it so good. Hot & Sour Soup is not anywhere as good as in the past. Sweet & Sour Sauce looks and tastes like the bright orange/yellow stuff in a jar from the grocery store. Crab Puff filling was annoyingly sweet I was assured they had the same cook, but am not a believer. The food was OK, not as good as in the past. read more

When you walk in, it is a small mom and pop type feel. We were greeted by the sweetest older man who was so welcoming. There was also a lady working as well. We were treated like queens, literally! The man put our plates in front of us and had the brightest smile the entire time!! we started with the spring rolls and they were so delicious and crunchy, they were $1.45 each which was an amazing deal. We ordered the orange chicken with fried rice. The orange chicken had an amazing crunch and was soooo flavorful!!! The rice itself had an odd taste to it, almost a sink water taste. It also was not very fluffy, but it did the job. We also ordered the beef low main, it was very tasty as well. It just lacked a bit of flavor. For the portions and price, an amazing service we will be back!! We spent 37$ before too and got 2 huge plates and a soft drink along with an appetizer. read more

My review : I got the sesame chicken, 4.5/10 , The chicken was mid lacked taste and the sesame seeds were sprinkled in one corner. Sides I ordered pork egg roll and small egg drop soup, The pork egg roll 5/10 was very cold and tasted off egg drop soup 7/10 was cold and had no taste however compared it to dragon express , Dragon took the W and once I got home was missing my fried rice. Well, you can definitely tell that Tom does not own the restaurant anymore. We had orange chicken and walnut shrimp with two eggrolls. It was terrible such a disappointment for a place that we've been going to for so many years. The orange chicken was very generic something like what you would get down the street at the other Chinese food place. The walnut shrimp tasted like something straight out of a box not flavorful and super crunchy. The sweet-and-sour sauce is now called their home sauce and it taste like straight vinegar your choice but it's not the same. I recently ordered some take out from here and it didn't disappoint. I got a new dish other than my usual and I loved it. It was a chicken and much room dish with spice. I would definitely order it again. I also ordered crab Rangoons, egg drop soup, wonton soup, two egg rolls, and teriyaki chicken. My dishes were very good. I do wish the egg rolls were more custom made. These seemed to be manufactured/frozen but I could be wrong. I also wish the soups came with the wonton strips as well. Great Chinese place for those big portions you're used to but don't find at the Asian market

This was my wife and my first and last time here. I ordered the shrimp and got 5 of them the chicken couldn't have been thinner the pork was ok and there were enough pieces of this. My wife had cashew chicken very few cashews and not much chicken but it had plenty of frozen peas and carrots . My dish had been plenty of broccoli and the sauce didn't taste good. So this place is situated in an old kind of run down strip mall, hiding between some empty spaces. My family has been dining here for the last 16+ years, and there's a reason they've been here so long. You walk in, and yes you can tell it's got that old school feel and hasn't been updated in who knows how long, but it's clean! Just fine, and in my book fine is a four letter word that begins with f. I ordered the shrimp in lobster sauce that was so soupy the scoop of rice ran out long before the soup did. There were also MORE mushrooms THAN SHRIMP. I DON'T DO MUSHROOMS. NOWHERE does it say mushrooms are part of this entree. I WOULD NOT HAVE ORDERED IT. It's a good thing I'm not ALLERGIC or I would be in the HOSPITAL right now. The crab puffs are fine, pretty flavorless unless dredged in the sweet and sour sauce.
