The same combo I used to get when I was a kid. The Chow Mein, Broccoli, Egg Foo Young, and Sweet and Sour Pork. And lots of it!

I have been thinking about this place a lot lately. I grew up in Mesa and we all ate there Friday nights when we were out and about. That was a long time ago, because I'm old, ha ha ha. But it was always a really good price, a great value, and delicious. That was 30 years ago and it hasn't changed. Still a good price, a great value because they really load you up, and delicious! I mean REALLY delicious. I can't wait to go back. Next time I'll go with my older brother, Ed. He and I are foodies and meet up for great food often. Go there. It's great. Been around since 1976!

Autumn Moon...the OG buffet of Mesa that's been around for as long as you could remember. Probably the same tables & decor that's been here since opening too, as it's quite a bit dated. A very small & simple buffet consisting of 13 items to choose from, including fried rice, egg foo young & my personal favorite- sweet & sour pork. Lunch time dine in pricing is $12.50 per adult plus drink. I feel it's a little high for the limited items they have to offer. Other protein options include lemon chicken, orange chicken, salt & pepper chicken, beef w/broccoli & more. When ordering for take out, keep in mind you are only limited to ONE protein option, however they do load the box up pretty good! Everything was really great, from the food to the service. They checked on us frequently and refilled drinks as needed. Inside was clean as well. I've been coming here since I was in diapers, and I will continue to dine here for years to come. Don't judge the book by the cover, you'd be surprised!

I'm baaaack! OMG I love this place! Met up with my long time friend and his wife for lunch today. He and I ate here at least 3 times a week from 1978 to 1995! This will always be in my top 3 favorite restaurants. Consistently good food!

Parking was a breeze and seating was spacious. I like the interior a lot and the service was quite good (seeing that it was only one person taking down the orders and cleaning! very fast for that). For the food, we ordered chicken fried rice, fragrance tender beef, fish-flavored eggplant, boiled fish with pickled cabbage, and dry fried green beans. All of these dishes were yummy, in particular, my parents love the boiled fish with pickled cabbage and fragrance tender beef. I do think there is solid sichuan spice flavor. This is a great place to get Chinese food in Arizona :) **something to note, there might be a heightened salty flavor in some dishes so be wary haha We always visit!

The first comment is that rice is not included with entree. This is a little off putting. Raise the price .50 cents per entree and include white rice. Annoying to have to scroll down their electronic iPad to find rice. The spring rolls were good but came with very little dipping sauce (almost nothing in the cup). The general TSOs chicken could have been a little crispier and with more sauce. Almost none on the plate (which is a trend). The plate also came with only 4 small pieces of broccoli. The whole experience comes off as a penny pinching operation. Last but not least, sitting next to a big zapper on the main counter is tacky as hell. I definitely think you can find a better experience elsewhere. "FIMP" Food is my Passion

For years I have driven 25 minutes for takeout and never regretted it. High decor -No, limited selections -No, quiet -No, great food -Absolutely, incredibly friendly and pleasant staff -100%. Our typical order is a large General Chicken with extra sauce and Malaysian fun chow. The general chicken is perfectly breaded, deliciously flavored, slight bite and an uncious taste making you want more. The Malaysian fun chow has wok fried wide rice noodles with a hint of char, shrimp, bean sprouts, onions, veggies and a light but savory taste. Another home run! Don't let the exterior or inside decor persuade your judgement. Hands down the staff is second to none and the food is fabulous. Asian Cafe Express is an incredible value for the food quality and portion size. Trust me, if you give them a shot, you will also be ordering here for years. To the staff, fabulous job and thanks!

A Mesa Asian District Gem Worth Seeking Out…read more Asian Cafe Express is a lovely strip mall gem near H-Mart in Mesa's Asian District, and after 21 years in business, it clearly has a loyal following for good reason. We brought in a fresh lobster from H-Mart to try their "bring your own seafood" cooking option and chose the garlic onion stir fry preparation. It's $14.99 for anything under 2 lbs and $7.50/lbs for anything over. It came out excellent, served over crispy egg noodles with classic Asian flavors and plenty of wok-fired goodness. We also enjoyed the Peking pork ribs, which were deboned, tasty, and slightly sweet; the stir-fried green beans, which were fresh and well prepared; and the garlic spicy chicken wings, which were especially flavorful and highly recommended. The red bean drinks were traditional and satisfying, with soft, nicely soaked mung beans and no milk. Service was friendly, efficient, and personal, handled by a couple of ladies who clearly know the restaurant and their customers well. While we were there, plenty of regulars came in for takeout and several tables were happily dining in. Overall, we really enjoyed Asian Cafe Express and were surprised we had not stopped in sooner. Highly recommend, especially for the "bring your own seafood" cooking option and the garlic spicy wings. We will definitely be back.

The spicy is mild overall with a light chili spice on initial bite. It fades, so the dipping sauce was nice to have with it. The Xiao Long Bao were the winners of thee meal and would be why I go back. Easy to eat and tasty. I only wish the soup inside was a bit hotter. The Chicken Sheng Jian Bao was good, but the breading a little thicker than I personally like. This felt more like a dessert with the sesame bottom. Good taste, just heavy. Felt like we were rushed a bit and we're asked several times if we were done. There were empty tables, so that knocked it from the higher 3.5 side to the lower. Yelp is a flat star rating.
