The portions may not be as generous, but the food is always good. We've been here multiple times, trying out their lunch specials and dinner entrées and we're always happy. The staff is friendly, quick to offer you bottled water on the house while you wait, and they never rush you when you're ordering. I do not frozen vegetables in my food when I eat out. They need to use fresh produce.

The food was ok and the service was mid. We had a late lunch - early dinner here on Sunday and it was busy. There were a few booths taken and one big table with a party of like 12. There were three ladies helping everyone in the restaurant out. We were told to pick a booth, sit down, and to look over the menu. We sat for a few minutes and the server came over to take our orders. We ordered: One won ton soup One order of chicken egg rolls One broccoli with garlic sauce One happy family One shrimp with lobster sauce One One coke Two waters The egg rolls, shrimp with lobster sauce, and the general tso's chicken were the only dishes that came out hot. The won ton soup, broccoli, and happy family were served to us lukewarm. The won ton soup was bland so we poured soy sauce and chili oil to help and it did. The broccoli was a bit too mushy for my liking but tasted ok. The egg rolls were delicious and I would definitely order them again! The shrimp with lobster sauce was also really good and was very flavorful. The white rice was hot and steamed well. Service was bad as they prioritized the big party and totally forgot about us. We got up a few times to ask for refills and to go boxes. We also had to ask for forks and dishes as the table was only set for two and we were a party of three. One of the girls seemed to be very verrrrrry shy and we could barely hear her when she would speak. Overall this is a meh for me. We haven't been here in a while and so I suggested this for dinner tonight as we have thoroughly enjoyed in the past. We ordered 3 different chicken dishes and sides. The chicken was over done, dry and not really editable. My son called them and the mgr basically said We are so sorry but they couldn't help us out. We haven't been to Mayflower for a while, at least 6 months. We stopped in last night, the prices have been raised, ok, I get that. Inflation, completely understand that. When you order a soda, it is a can of coke and a glass of ice. 1.50. They used to give refills, not anymore. No longer get soup with your entree, that has changed too. The waitress acted like we were inconveniencing her, a kid, maybe 21, 22? Talks fast, hard to understand. Strange hours, closed Monday. They will not honor their coupons at all, but, completely ignore you when you inquire about it. Handicapped parking is very limited, the Terror Trader is next door, usually, the handicapped parking is taking, unfortunately. The Chicken wings we ordered were Chicken legs..General Chicken was good. The last times we were in there, there was no one, like last night. I highly recommend Mayflower! The food is top notch, generous portions and inexpensive! Seriously, every bite was full of flavor. I ate the Kung Pao Chicken and enjoyed every bite. The peanuts were fresh and more like a topping, not soggy and cooked into the dish. The vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly, not soggy at all. The fried rice was fluffy and perfectly cooked. I barely ate 1/4 of my plate, because I got full off the yummy wontons and potstickers. The staff were intent on serving your drinks and food promptly and swiftly. Clearly I wasn't going to finish my plate. I was presented with a to-go box and offered a to-go drink as well. The restaurant is clean and has booths or big tables to eat with your family. Awful experience. I ordered through Yelp. My card was charged for a take out order - not cheap. 40 minutes later I haven't even gotten my food yet. My card was charged when I ordered ( I expect that- I did my part-I paid) and when I arrived at the restaurant I was told "sorry no order". I was told to call Yelp. the order was "lost". I got emails and they got my money. And yet no one seemed concerned about the mixup. The people taking orders told me I wasn't supposed to use Yelp. I did it wrong. Ummmmmm. I jumped on your page on Yelp and ordered because the option WAS THERE. Now I'm out $53 dollars and have to wait for a refund for 3-5 days and now I just ordered and paid AGAIN. MISERABLE EXPERIENCE. Have nothing exciting or negative to say, but probably won't come back since there are better Chinese elsewhere but it's not bad. We got the "family dinner" at $13 per person, which comes with choice of a small bowl of soup per person: egg drops or hot and sour, and one egg roll and shrimp tempura (?) . We went with happy family and Mongolian beef. The beef was dicey: some pieces were good and some really tough. The flavor is plain, but on the other hand, not salty. Disappiintingly they completely overlooked my order and I sat around waiting for iy to be done. They were nice and apologetic about it and even offered me a bottle of water while I waited. A short wait and a quick car ride later, I was sitting cross-legged in front of my coffee table with a pair of chopsticks in hand and some freshly cooked chow fun in front of me. The chow fun was decent. It was missing that charry "breath of the wok" flavor that comes from a fire-scorched seasoned wok but the chef still had skills. The noodles were intact and not at all broken so I was still impressed. The flavors and balance are there but that fire needs to be turned up! Got to my daughter late this evening and we had an itch for some good Chinese food. I have been to the Mayflower before and have always been impressed with * Cleanliness is good * Graciousness by Wait Staff!! * Quality of Food Served very good! * Quantity & Portions are very generous! * Had some appetizers, combo plates and out the door for 37.00 which is excellent of 2025 given all the increased prices all americans have lived through over the past 4 years. * I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch, family dinner and go to restaurant after work, quick easy night out etc. Maybe not a DATE NIGHT per se given that it a nice good clean and quality restaurant for any day of the week eatery. We met friends here for lunch yesterday. You can't beat their prices and the servings are more than enough to fill you up. The ladies are here are so nice, they know us when we come in. (How can they forget, we stay for 2-3 hours!) I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. The dish comes with a crab puff, a spring roll and fried rice. I swapped out the spring roll for an egg roll, because I like them better. I always add a bowl of the wonton soup, it is delicious and very satisfying. Every bowl is stuffed full and smells awesome. The crab puff has a perfect texture and the taste is very smooth. I love their fried rice, it has just the right mixture of rice, eggs, and veggies. Their white sticky rice is excellent as well. We didn't add that today, but our friends did. Mayflower is a wonderful 'hole in the wall' that you will return to time and time again. I highly recommend sucking in and checking them out. read more

I had a hankering for beef chow fun, however, the usual restaurants I frequent had closed early... ah New Year's Eve. I decided to give Mayflower a try, despite being out of my way, due to the positive reviews. We placed our order around 8:30 and made our way to the restaurant minutes before they closed. They gave my boyfriend a complimentary 2021 calendar (cute!) and he helped himself to a water bottle and fortune cookies (of course). We got home, starving, excited to dig into our order. Not pictured are the crab rangoons and chicken egg rolls. You know the Chinese restaurants that are salty and you can feel the MSG in your arteries? Yeah, Mayflower is not one of those restaurants- actually the opposite. The food was so unseasoned and bland I thought I might have COVID... one bite of the hot mustard provided with the egg rolls proved otherwise. The food wasn't bad... it was fairly healthy and you have the opportunity to salt your food according to your own levels! My boyfriend insists the food tastes better the next day as well. The two main dishes we ordered had extremely small bits of meat with an over abundance of vegetables. For what we paid, there should have been twice the amount of meat in the dishes. I thought the food here was quite good. The ingredients tasted fresh to me. The zucchini didn't have a bitter taste and I liked that. Sometimes I might eat some zucchini and it doesn't taste right. I'm not sure what causes that. Perhaps those types of zucchini are old or maybe they are a different variety of zucchini than I am used to. I also liked how the noodles were still a bit crispy on one side. Sometimes the noodles might be soaked in so much sauce that they are not crispy anymore. The rice was also the right texture too.
