The most unprofessional place I have ever been to. Idc what business you are in if you own it you should take pride in what you do and make sure your employees are the same way. GUY WITH GLASSES starts to take take off my tips without even asking me if that's what I wanted, I came in for a fill in not a new set and proceeds to tell me you need new nails this no good bla bla you didn't do your nails here ? YES I DID EXACTLY TWO WEEKS AGO. Continues to painfully take my nails of without soaking or anything stabs me when he is pulling one off. I am not one to complain, I'm easy going and it was a very simple job. I didn't even want to speak to the owner because frankly she won't care. It's small but it's one of those spots u don't wanna tell anyone abt ! They have 4 pedicure chair they are attentive to ur feet! & nails as well ! The guy doing my nails was playing a game on his phone while doing my nails. He kept stopping like after every nail. I thought he was texting at first, but then I saw that he was playing a freaking video game! While I had to get to work! When I told him that I had to get to work, he told me that I had to wait to get my pedicure done any way and that there was no nail tech available to do my pedicure... a few minutes later someone was available to do my pedicure and he had to rush my nails so the lady wouldn't skip my turn, and it took much longer than expected all cuz he was too busy playing a freaking game! This was my first time going here after moving to the area. I saw it had good reviews so figured I'd try it out. It met my expectations! I think I got there at a good time (11:45am on a Wednesday) because I was taken right away but as I was getting my nails done, a few other women came in and had to wait a bit. The man who did my nails did a great job. I was originally going to just get an acrylic fill but he suggested getting a new set since mine was so old (I know they always try to sell you more stuff but I could tell he was saying it because I actually needed it and not just to make more money). He did such a good job on my nails and it didn't take too long either, about exactly one hour. They have many colors to choose from which is great because I hate having to get the same colors over and over. The only thing I will say is that the polish (I got gel) needed 4 coats before it looked right. This could be because it's a cheaper brand of polish (this would explain the great pricing of my manicure) but I'm not really that bothered by it. The place itself was definitely kind of old and a little run down which is why I'm taking a star off. All in all I got a new acrylic set with gel polish for $38 which is a great price with especially great quality! Would definitely come back! read more

I've had acrylic tips on and off for probably my entire adult life in Australia and London but living in NYC, I have found that they are either a less than par job or just extremely expensive for the initial whole set and ongoing refills every 2 or so weeks. But recently I really felt like 'pretty-ing' up my hands again like old times. So with an intensive search through yelp, I find this salon about 10 min from my apartment a bit further uptown in East Harlem. There was only one review but her review spoke to me as someone who also gets real traditional nail artistry with tips, gel and acrylic. Let me tell you...WOW. Little, unassuming salon and nothing fancy, but ALEX knows exactly what he's doing. It was a BEAUTIFUL job - and FAST, I was in and out in an hour including waiting time. Nice regulars, very low key, polite people - but the job this guy did is just really beautiful and it's my new salon for nails. $50 for a full set of pink and white permanent french acrylic tips including the tip. Refills $20. Won't disappoint. I'm so happy I found this place...and my new NAIL GUY! read more

When I first found this place about two months ago, I was relieved. For almost a year, I'd been searching for a place closer to my new apartment, that wouldn't require me traveling back to my old neighborhood/manicurist in Brooklyn. In the city, most places are either extremely expensive, only work with natural nails, or both. So I was happy to find a place with normal pricing that actually worked with acrylic. On my first trip to this salon, I noticed that the salon was really small. There are very few chairs to sit if you aren't either getting your nails done or getting a pedicure. However, while I was there, the place was pretty empty, so it didn't affect me much then. Additionally, the service and my nails were great. I was the second person in, so I didn't have to wait too long. The woman who did my nails seemed pleasant and listened to what I wanted, and did really well at laying the acrylic on my nails in addition to shaping them. Needless to say, I left pretty pleased and willing to give them another shot. On the second visit, I saw a slight change. With more people in the shop, the wait was longer, and fairly uncomfortable, as both customers and employees struggled to find space to sit or stand. Staff frequently needed to shuffle customers (who had resorted to sitting at stations going unused while they waited) and themselves, in efforts to use any available station to finish a customer (employees do not appear to have designated stations, but instead use whatever is available). When it was my turn for my manicure, though still somewhat pleasant, the woman who did my nails previously, seemed distracted, rushed, and slightly agitated this time around. My nails wound up coming out okay, but once the polish was applied, I noticed there were some things that should've been corrected. Attributing it to an off day, I let it slide and didn't allow it to deter me from returning for a third visit. On next visit, I was slightly disappointed when, during my pedicure, the tech soaked me with water (leaving me to have to travel home in damp clothing, in the freezing cold, especially since they don't have the typical drying stations). And, my manicurist, a little less rushed, but no less distracted, did a job on my nails that required to me give directions such as "Will you please file this, it's slanted?" "Can you please add some more acrylic to these nails? They're really thin." "The acrylic on this one is actually coming off. Would you mind re-doing it?" What happened to the detail oriented person I met the first day? Weeks later, due to a broken nail and an urgent need to squeeze in a fill-in before the evening, I gave them a final shot. This time around the place was again super packed. Except now, pleasant personalities were gone. It took trying to get my manicurist's attention multiple times (despite standing in front of her) for her to acknowledge me and answer the simple question "how many people do you have left?" To which she replied, "three." I was fine with it, since I wanted to get a pedicure and also soak my nails to have them re-wrapped. While I waited, I grabbed the only seat available, at a station going unused, and watched as another person came in, asked her the same question, and received a response of "one." To which I couldn't help but raise a brow, considering they don't take appointments. At that point, I was asked to relinquish my seat to someone who needed a manicure and was asked to sit at the pedicure station, where I was told someone would be with me shortly to work on my pedicure and soak my fingernails. After just a few moments, I was asked to move once again, being told that someone, who clearly came in after me, needed to go first. Needless to say, with no other seats available, with the annoyance of trying to get the staff to pay attention, with a clear understanding of the favoritism that takes places, and with the shock of how noticeable the change in service has been in a matter of only four visits, I was over it. I gathered my things and walked out, and quite certainly won't be returning. Brooklyn may be a bit of a journey from this new apartment, but no matter what, the treatment and service I received at my old salon were always worth the money. If it takes continuing to sacrifice a little more time to cover travel, then so be it. The moral of the story? Run, don't walk, to any place other than here. read more

I love this place!! I would never have found it if not for Yelp--it's such a small place, you could easily miss it, but the people here are so great! They greet you enthusiastically when you arrive, and they treat their clientele like old friends. It's usually crowded here, which is a testament to the good work they do. I like to arrive right when they open so that I can be seen as quickly as possible, because there's very little room for those who are waiting. I was getting regular gel manicures for a bit, then Kim recommended I try the UV dip powder because my nails kept breaking (they were really thin) and this was a GAME CHANGER! My nails look and feel great and I don't have to be so careful with them anymore. I've had my nails done by Kim and Cindy, they're both wonderful! I just wish they had a bigger space, because they're so popular! read more

Horrible behavior , I came in to two weeks ago and got my nails done by Tom who did and excellent job with acrylic nails , however two nails pop off ,in less than week and half. I came in Just to get a fill and replace two nails Tom and randy where busy so they gave me the ANGRy MAN with GLASSES who sit by the window . While I trying to explain my issues he talks over me ,He starts tearing off my nails and claiming that my nails are no good I need to replace all my nails and literally starts clipping off my nails with clippers , he starts to tell me I have nail fungus . When I finally got a word I disputed that I nail fungus . I ask him to soak my nails he said it was going to take to long .I literally said for you to rip off acrylic nails with clipper is crazy , He gets loud in he speaks in another language to Cindy and randy who off course say and do nothing . He then get on his phone a stated that Tom will do my nails . Finally when TOM gets to my nail , I tried to explain what the issues is and he starts interjecting his opinion into the conversation and starts yelling again ,because TOM is confused on why his nail job just got butchered and basically offers for randy services to fix my nails with a fill in price which was nice but no one correct the man with glasses for poor behavior and I just wanted to fix my butchered and leave . They do great acrylic nails but the workers are allowed to be disrespectful to the customers . I will never return . read more
