I love this place! Not sure why others are giving Avenue 3 stars because my friend threw her birthday party here last night and everything was PERFECT! The hostess was really sweet and showed us to the bar while the waiters were setting up our table all the way in the back for 14 people. Everyone came at different times and our waitress and waiter were friendly, patient, and accommodating- they didn't rush us to order food or drinks. When we were ready to order, the drinks were prepared really fast, really strong, and really delicious! I ordered the swimming pool (vodka, rum, curacao, coconut, pineapple) and my friends ordered frozen margaritas and bellinis- all the drinks were well made! The food was good as well but the chicken skewers need more seasoning. I am impressed by the service here; our waiter and waitress got a 20% automatic gratuity on top of our $470 tab but we left them extra because they went above and beyond for my friend's birthday party! The Food : Portions are big, I got the veggie pizza and that could have been shared between 3 people. The food is rather delicious! The Drinks : Cocktails are good the bloody Mary's are fantastic which is hard to fine I was surprised when I tasted it only to have it be pure perfection!! However the frappe is what most people come for and its something you must try! We put her in her place and told her she never checked up on us and that our coffees were terrible. She tried fixing it but it was so awkward and forced at that point that we declined. The food here was mediocre and the service was subpar. It was quite busy and crowded when I went, like many other places in Astoria. I don't recall what I had here, it was not memorable at all. This is a decent spot to grab lunch in the area. The vibe is very hip and trendy, with bass-heavy music pumping all hours of the day. It reminds me of a better-lit W Hotel lobby. The menu is impressive, with a great selection of salads and sandwiches. The food was good - I had the halloumi delight which is basically a meat medley with some goat cheese. It was a good sandwich and the fries are tasty as well. The service was very attentive but the food took quite a while to arrive. Not obscenely long, just slightly annoying. I'd probably return for lunch sometime to try some different items, but I'd also be interested in seeing what it's like for a nightlife spot. If you think that Greece only exports wine, olive oil, Kalamata Olives and feta cheese, then you may have to visit Avenue. Why? This super busy place imported the modern Athenian relaxing style, embraced by numerous guests enjoying their Frapes (Greek iced coffee est. in mid-70s). We went there for a light dinner, and it was pretty nice. The crowd was buzzing, having a nice blend of indigenous Astorians, as well as tourists. The service was decent, and at least they waiter wasn't over our head every 5 minutes. If you want to have coffee, read or work, then it can be your service-limited heaven. Their pork loin sandwich with Cypriot goat cheese (lountza and halloumi) was dreamy! A generous portion of the Mediterranean served on crispy koulouri bread and ripe tomatoes. Mmmm, just amazing! Satisfying, tasty and just great. And their crepes are huge and so flavorful. The nutella and banana was great having a tint of amaretto and baileys that didn't mask the hazelnut's and fruit's aromas and taste. Arrived at 3:36 PM (still brunch) on a Saturday afternoon. Seated all the way in the back, tucked away in a corner. Raggety furniture in front of us but that was whatever. Time ticks and by 3:51 a busboy stops by to give us water. I ask for the regular menu because we didn't want brunch. by 3:58 the server finally comes and I say: since brunch is over can we get the regular menu. She says sure. Walks away... and starts to take an order for 5 people... meanwhile getting a menu for us would have taken only a minute. So we sit, waiting and waiting. Not sure what the fuss has ever been over this place. It's one of those places that just caught on from the day its doors opened. Nowadays, it exists with a sleeker, more modern & trendier look. I visited NYC from DC and came to Astoria to have some Freddo. Coffee was really good and reminded me of Greece. Food wasn't that good but again who would go at a Greek cafeteria to have good food. The only reason I am rating 3 out of 5 stars is that I was expecting this cafeteria to play some Greek music as well. I was highly disappointed due to the fact most of the cafeteria was crowded from Greeks but the music was just some plain American with no character. Avenue is my favorite place in Astoria! The vibe is great regardless of the season or time of the day! Summertime they have outdoors seating with chairs and umbrellas and wintertime they decorate inside for some great time. Avenue is the perfect place for dinner, brunch, lunch or just a cup of coffee (frappe). They have a great full bar with delicious cocktails and the food menu is diverse and delicious! I liked this place. I went with a group of friends and it was perfect to wind down after a stressful day. It wasn't a bar and it wasn't a restaurant. It was just perfect for grabbing a drink, hearing music and grabbing a bite of greasy fries and a beer. It's a little on the Euro side but that goes without saying when you mention any Astoria venue. I waited several minutes for my waitress before I switched to a bar seat. Bartender came right over and I Ordered a classic mojito which tasted very good. I also ordered a calamari appetizer. It was a very large portion and cooked to perfection. The bartender really looked like he knew what he was doing; their cafe coffee drinks looked incredible. I would've given five stars, but I felt like I didn't belong there. The staff kind of ignored me. If I'd felt more comfortable, I would've ordered another drink. Avenue Cafe is Awesome. I'm leaving this review, bc some of the reviews are just not accurate. I've eaten here about 8 times and always leave satisfied with not only with the food but the prices. Brunch for 12-14 bucks is very reasonable. If you've eaten here and don't enjoy the food- then you don't know how to order. Here is a list of the tasty dishes I enjoyed throughly 1- Haloumi delight sandwich w chicken or pork- Made me a fan of Haloumi cheese 2- Greek salad with chicken kebab. Pita n Taziki on side- amazing, my fav dish 3- Sliced skirt steak w white american cheese- made perfectly, juicy tender steak 4- Potato croquettes- great app 5- Chicken kebab app- they know how to make great greek kebabs 6- The greek frappe= best i've had in Astoria, and I've had alot 7- Crepes- it's like a really really thin pancake. tastes so goody The waitresses are all beautiful and friendly- which are 2 qualities they all should have. Management does a great job hiring. Nothing worse than a grumpy waitress who you aren't excited to be served from. Just saying. I love avenue and it's always crowded for a reason. Old neighborhood staple with good food and plenty of outdoor seating. The staff could use some lessons on service though. Came here after Biden won in a good mood with an empty stomach. My husband and I were craving the club sandwiches they had on the menu. About 15 minutes after we were seated we realized we still haven't been approached for even a drink order. We noticed there was one tallish bald waiter serving all of the tables next to us. My husband is a restaurant manager so we tend to be a bit forgiving in these situations so we still waited patiently. About 10 minutes later, we asked the busser to grab the server for us. We watched him notify the server that we'd been waiting and then watched the server take a drink order from a table who had arrived not 5 minutes ago. We were both really craving the chicken club so it wasn't an easy decision to leave but after roughly 25 minutes of waiting without any acknowledgement we had to. Ended up grabbing some sandwiches from Crave across the street. They were much nicer. read more

One of the best cafe, pregame hangout spots in Astoria. Their frappes are the best compare to others, their food is good and the place is gorgeous. I love their outdoor seating especially in the summer time because all the seats they offer lets you smoke while you enjoy your coffee or drink unlike other cafes on 30th ave where they have limited seating. They started to take credit cards which is now a good thing. Guess after all the complains or less tips finally made them get with the program of swiping. As far as I know, this place is amazing. Stuff and owners do a really good job. Good thing is that the people that work there are working for long so they really know what they' re doing. I see mixed reviews. Some say service is good, some others that it' s not. Some even complain about the loud music. I think this place is awesome and at least comparing to other lounges on 30th avenue, like Grant cafe (which by the way has the worst and slowest stuff ever) or Flo that is always empty, is the best Greek place in Queens. Food.. Ok, I agree, it' s not the best but it' s a lounge. It' s sad that they don' t have entrees but still if you want something fast, or a hearty salad it' s perfect! Oh their salads are amazing and huge! Their crepes?? Even better. I don' t think there is any other place in queens that makes such good crepes. Their coffees? I've been here quite a few times. It's in a great place and high traffic area. Astoria in the summer is always fun so try to grab a table outside and hang out with your friends. Awesome place to people watch and enjoy the evening breeze. It's open until late so if you'd rather be at a cafe than a bar, this is a nice place to do that. I find this place to be so so. Astoria is known for its cafes so my friends usually choose a cafe or another to go to when wanting to hang out. The food is ok. The drinks are not the greatest. Probably better off getting coffee from here than any alcoholic drinks. The music inside is too loud so def choose to stay outside. Worth checking out if you've never been or if you want to have a nice coffee/dessert as you sit outside! read more

Came to Avenue with my 16 yr. old daughter. We ordered a few appetizers & drinks, I ordered a salad & my daughter ordered a burger. My daughter immediately wanted to change her order (didn't want the bacon burger) & we asked the waitress to take it off & that she'd like a sandwich with no bacon. When our order came, she still got the bacon burger that she didn't want & the waitress was trying to make me look wrong. The food was good, but it would've been a much more enjoyable experience if my daughter got what she wanted & the service was better. Also, our waitress never checked in on us to make sure we were satisfied & I had to constantly wave my hand trying to get her attention.. Great atmosphere. It is a very clean place. I have been here about 5 times but the last two,the service has been pathetic. Both servers were new or something,idk. Both times they were constantly asking the same questions about our order which was nothing peaky. Came back like 3 times to put the order on the system. They always have different servers,I have never seen the same ones. Even the busboys are more attentive than them. Food is ok, prices are decent,the hostess is very polite. On the other hand, my strawberry frozen margarita was literally sugar, it was not even real fruit or at least something alike,could bet it was grenadine,tequila and sour mix. Well, I still don't know if it really had tequila in it. Still thinking about going back or not. read more
