    Angry people that will never return

    2 hours and we are still waiting in line. Reservations mean nothing. There are 6 employees. 10 booths are closed and there are no kiosk active. The line starts outside in the rain.

    Bottom Line: Friendly service but our car stunk! While visiting Denver my husband and I wanted to rent a car for a Sunday to go out to Golden. Since I am a very regular renter with Avis I decided to get the car from the downtown Avis. I was able to rent the car through the Avis app and then when I showed up on rental day the lady working was very nice and hustling. I think it was just her and one other gentlemen working to get through what seemed like a steady queue of reservations. So pick up, and return was easy. Buuuut, our car smelled so bad! I really can't decide if it smelled like human feces or a papermill. Either way, we rode with the windows down. If we were going a longer distance then we would have definitely had to exchange it.

    "Damage" to floor mat

    We had the same experience as Kathy W (review 9/2/2024). Avis at Denver Airport charged us $250 after a 2 day rental to remove salt granules from parking lots (it was about to snow). Material could have been shaken off the floor mats in seconds. When we checked in, nothing was said about the condition of the car. We appealed the charge but the response was that we needed to bring the car back in the same condition we took it. So do we need to vacuum and use a car wash before returning a rental car? So much for #wetryharder

    Easy pea set lemon squeeze! Was in and out within 10 min. Got my car and returned in the evening. Very smooth! Happy camper

    I was happy to be able to rent a car immediately. My only issue was the customer service rep asking me nosey questions. Maybe she was bored.

Pricing is a bit higher than chains BUT it is worth it because you get the vehicle you are promised with no hassle, and you will be dealing directly with human beings that will answer questions you have in a timely manner. So we called Uber. Then, while waiting in line at the Rapid Rez/Fast Break booth, the lady behind me told me they gave her the wrong car and she had to return to the Rapid Rez booth to have the car reassigned to her. Turns out the same thing happened to me because the lady in the booth sent me to the wrong car. I didn't know it until I was not able to exit the lot. Three cars behind me had to back up so I could return to Rapid Rez booth to stand in the blustery cold again and get the car reassigned to me. When I tried to exit for the second time, the man at the gate told me this car was not assigned to me either. I refused to go back to the Rapid Rez booth, so he personally ran back and corrected the issue. Turns out my Rapid Res rental took over 1 /12 hours! I have been a Rapid Rez member since 2013-- This is totally unacceptable! I rented from this Budget lot one year ago and had no problems so it appears someone needs to be retrained and management needs to pay attention....

He told me the toll charge was $13, but failed to clearly explain that it was $13 per day, which felt very misleading. What made it worse was that I was asked to initial everything on a digital screen without being shown a clear breakdown of charges. After receiving the printed contract and reviewing it, I was honestly disgusted by how much I had been upsold. The vehicle we rented -- a Nissan Pathfinder -- was substandard and very dirty inside and out. While the car functioned fine for our four-day weekend and got us where we needed to go, the cleanliness and overall condition were unacceptable. Return was smooth, but once again there was an attempt to upsell -- this time offering a $20 charge to take our rental back to the airport. We declined. The shuttle service itself was decent, but the wait time from the airport to the rental facility was extremely long and overcrowded. They eventually had to call for additional buses. Overall, we were very disappointed with the entire experience and will not be using Fox Rentals again.

Longer lines, tension between the written word and the action, and a car that was possibly the worst performing car I've driven. The shuttle picked us up quickly, which was great! The driver was nice and helpful. Then, more than 30 minutes waiting, even after doing the online checkin. They needed to verify documents, so there is no benefit to the online checkin, you're in the same line as everyone. Was told I'd be charged a $200 deposit, no problem. Then, they charged a $250 deposit. That would have been ok, I just like to have words and action to match. The car was a standard SUV. The car was such a gutless gas-guzzling SUV. Returning the car was odd. I pulled up and into the line of cars. After 10 minutes, I began to go inside and a worker motioned for me to move the car over to the line next to the one I parked. I moved, he was gone. I just walked around the car and filmed its condition, took pictures of the clean interior, and the full gas level. I went to the bus. So very strange. And, the shuttle driver was great, a nice guy that was very helpful to everyone. The drivers earned the two stars.
