Cynthia was amazing. She was the best front desk clerk I have met in a long time. She gave us a lot of insight about Colorado and where we should visit and move to. I definitely would rent a car from Fox rental again . The vehicle was clean, tidy and check in and check out process was very easy.

Nice rental with all the bells

I simply can not understand the ratings. This review is for Denver Airport location. From the airport they have a dedicated shuttle (no rental car company has an airport desk so all are using shuttles). The station is around all the others so not a longer ride or anything. Once you are in the buildings depending on the time you either got a long line or a short. I was lucky had a medium line and two agents serving customer so I only waited around 10 min. The rental paperwork was easy and as they all do my rental agent Cynthia tried to sell me insurance and gas. But she only asked once and was ok when I explained I rent a lot of cars and she don't need to insist lol. Then she explained to me how many toll stations are around Denver and asked if it would make sense to get a flat rate for all the tolls. I agreed. So she did some successful up-sale (good job). When I left I got the keys and the car was waiting outside. When I got to the car I noticed she gave me a heavy upgrade at least two classes up from what I originally booked. What a great service. I was at Sixt to start with first but they cancelled my reservation for reason unknown so I was left with no car. They said no problem and offered me a car on the spot that would have been at least a class under my upgrade at fox and would have cost (you sit?) Seven times (7!) what I paid at fox. The car was very clean and had all the bells and whistles even wireless CarPlay. It is just a great experience with fox. So in Denver they do not longer accept depot cards for the deposit. But Cynthia said when you drop it off you can come in and you can pay with a debit card. When I did that I saw there was only one agent (it was 10pm) and a long line - but when I asked if I can change my card to a debit card the return agent said wait a moment maybe I can do something for you that you don't have to wait in the line - a couple minutes she came back and said I spoke to my manager he will help you in a minute. And so he did. Jeremy told me care of changing the card and I was out in no time. Then he supported the coworker with Checkin when he saw how many guest have been wearing. What a great station and great service I felt very seen and professional served. That all with a great quality car and very very fair price! I am impressed. This was not the first time with fox it was the third time and I will continue booking with them after three great experiences! You should do as well.

BEWARE: Please Read Before Renting from Fox Rent A Car I really should have listened to the reviews -- I thought, "That won't happen to me." But it did. That's exactly why I'm writing this: because if you're reading this and considering Fox Rent A Car, it could absolutely happen to you too. Let me start by saying I'm not someone who usually writes reviews like this, but I feel genuinely taken advantage of and want to help other consumers avoid the same experience. Fox quoted me $347.58 for a 9-day rental, and I thought, "Wow, that's a great deal!" I ignored the dozens of bad reviews because I travel frequently to see my daughter and thought I'd found a new go-to rental company. Big mistake. The final bill? Over $620. That's nearly double what I was quoted. The hidden fees just kept stacking up, and many were never clearly explained at the time of rental. Here's a breakdown of some of the surprise charges I was hit with: $37.22 for less than a quarter tank of gas, even though I returned it with nearly a full tank (360 out of 400 miles). I was told I'd only be charged for what was needed to "top it off." That clearly wasn't true. $14.85/day for rental liability insurance (RLI), which was automatically added -- despite not being clearly discussed. Additional mystery fees like: Concession fee: $37.22 Recovery fee: $60.92 Denver Rental Tax: $90.22 "Degeneneral Tax" (?): $19.41 And other small daily charges that added up fast All told, the extras alone came out to over $270, not counting the base rental fee. Worse, when I raised concerns, they fell on deaf ears. That's what really stings -- not just the charges, but the lack of transparency and accountability. Anger is a secondary emotion, and what I truly felt was frustration, disappointment, and a sense of injustice. I usually rent through Costco Travel and have never had this kind of issue. Ironically, I recently booked a hotel + car vacation package through Marriott, and once I saw the rental agency was Fox, I called immediately and cancelled the car portion. Marriott kept my discounted hotel rate and reassured me they work with other rental companies as well. Even they were surprised at what I told them. So, to anyone reading this and still considering Fox -- listen to your gut. If you're hesitant, there's a reason. I made the mistake of ignoring the red flags and paid for it -- literally. This isn't about being a "Karen." This is about protecting other consumers from bad business practices. Do your homework, and trust the experiences of others. Never again, Fox. Never again.

Shout out to Lu for hooking it up with a beautiful upgrade so that I can explore a new mountainous city for the first time with comfort and ease. Not only was the service at the counter fast, Lu was also very hospitable and recommended some things for me to see out here in Denver. It was very welcoming for someone like me who just wanted everything made easy, esp. with it being late at night and after having just come off of a flight. I really appreciated our small talk and hope to see him when I drop off.

First, you do NOT need to rent an express lanes pass. Rental car companies will try to get you to rent it. I talked to the locals and most do not get the pass. It's only if you want to go to the far left express lanes on certain highways. Also, if you take E-470 which you can avoid. We drove around Colorado for 7 days and never had to pay a toll. As for this rental car company, it was ok. The car was old and scratched and dented with 50k miles. 3 of the tires were balding. I took a video of car when I picked it up. There were only 2 people working when I picked up the car and it was a long wait! They tried to upsell me, but I declined all.

Picking up our off-road ride.

Is the priority pass worth it?

From what I experienced at DIA, No.

I am waiting from 4:45am and now is 5:25am as 12/1 Tuesday. How much should I wait more or should I take a taxi to your location? Therr sevaral shuttles for pther rantsl csr company already.…

It took us almost an hour to get into their shuttle. Their shuttle only holds 5-6 people.

Is the PlatePass for toll roads a good deal?

Yes. It was the only thing about Fox rental that was! Will NEVER use them again!

What is the local fox rental Denver airport phone number?

Don't bother. They are crap! Avoid at all costs!

The woman at the rental counter was very nice and did not get extremely pushy regarding adding extra insurance or buying a tollway pass.

They gave me a complementary upgrade to a very cool Ford Expedition, and were knowledgeable and friendly throughout the process. I landed at midnight and waited 45 minutes to get picked up from the bus to the rental car place. Then, I had to wait in line for about another hour. Finally, I got to the counter, and they told me they were out of cars! At 3:45 am, what else could we do? We ended up renting an expensive car. When we received it, we discovered that it had no battery left. We had to sit at a charging station for an hour. The next day, we had two flat tires! We called to exchange the car, but they still had no cars left. We ended up canceling and going with a different company. However, they charged my card twice. When I went to dispute it, they fought it. What a terrible company! The desk people were horrible. One even quit during the duration of my time waiting in line. He was set up to fail anyway. How do you overbook too many cars for people? It's wild! I will never go with this company again and will be sure to tell my family and friends about this awful experience.

This was a cluster…read more Waited a while for their busses (not their fault, just busy) to get out to the actual place to rent the car. When I arrived, I can only describe it in what felt like some kind of lifeboat situation. The little shack with rental counters couldn't be seen because there was a mob of stressed people wondering where to go and what to do. A MASSIVE line. Fortunately, I have a deal with them to just grab my car and skip the counter.. I think? I hope? I don't really know. I was supposed to look for a video board with my name on it, but it basically just said HDMI and was a glitching black screen. I walked around to see where my car was, and it was no where to be found. There were probably 50 people waiting for their car, and maybe 7 in reserve? So I went to one that sort of looked like what I rented, if I squint, and just took it. Went to check out, told the dude I sure hope I'm doing this right, and apparently it was all good! Ditto to drop off, the guy telling us where to park was like "sorry y'all this is a shitshow today!" We dropped it and that was the end of it. Again, hope it works out, I think it did? But yeah. Part of it is because Denver Airport is always busy and you need a car for the city or mountains. But I think Hertz should step it up a bit here. I'll rent from them again because I have the tier that makes it more convenient, but wouldn't consider it otherwise.

Hertz experience was the real disaster more than the airport in remodeling chaos. Every other…read morerental company had buses circling every 15-20 minutes, but we were left waiting for almost an hour. When the bus finally did show up, it was so overcrowded that people were literally at each other's throats. It was basically a free-for-all just to get on. Then, to top it off, I get to the lot as a President's Circle member, expecting the perks that are supposed to come with that. It was noon, the reserved lot was 80% empty, and the "premium" selection was a joke. Just a bunch of random Jeeps and huge RAM pickups ready to haul horses and a handful of base-model Nissan Kicks and Kias. It's just pathetic. You're paying for a top-tier service as seems Economy, Budget and Thrifty are better, but you're getting a bottom-of-the-barrel experience. They aren't even trying anymore.
