I called enterprise at the phone number listed for the Glendora location and was told they had 4 mid size vehicles available for rent at that location, I booked my reservation and arrived to the location less than 20 mins later. The man at the front told me they had nothing available even though I saw 2 of the cars I reserved. He told me I could upgrade and pay almost 200 more for a luxury car or get put in a small economy car that wouldn't fit the kids in the back seat. Would I said I didn't understand how I was told 4 cars were available yet now there in none in a span of 20 mins he's told me "well that's what you get for booking before we close" like I'm being reprimanded for booking last minute? I called customer service and they said they will contact the manager of that location to accommodate me and give me a car priced at what I reserved. The situation further escalated and this man kept walking in our faces saying leave I'm going to call the police and shouldered my 65 year old mother telling us to get out since the other employee said I need to leave I have plans, but says after us being threatened with the police "well I'm staying for the fireworks". Like this was some type of entertainment for him.. The police were involved and my mother is pressing charges for his shouldering her. It is disgraceful this business operates the way they do and this person thinks they can treat customers this way. When the police arrived the man claimed he was the manager. I cannot fathom how this person treats their customers this way and I'm heavily considering legal actions. That's my bad...I assumed they'd have multiple cars of the same class, but it is a relatively small rental facility, so that was on my. However, by 850, the vehicle was still not dropped off so there was no way it would be ready by my pickup time. Rental email said it was supposed to be ready for me to just grab and go and wouldn't have to deal with the desk, so that was totally misleading. Again, a little more research on my end to find out the type of facility and size might have prepared me better. The car came in just before 9 and they still had to run through their check in process and have it cleaned up. I actually spoke with the person returning the car and asked about it and they were totally satisfied with the car, so it eased some of my apprehensions. Ended up getting out around 930-ish after all was said and done (at least I was able to witness the cleaning process before I got it)...and fortunately I wasn't in a super rush, so it was okay. I did have to leave for business, but should I ever need a rental in the future and am in dire need to get from this location in particular, I'd include some extra waiting time. Maybe if I had a later rental on Monday it wouldn't be like this? But that's not a guarantee either. They had just a single employee working the desk and the poor person was running around taking care of me and the other guests. He was extremely apologetic, and again, it wasn't like the agent wasn't working super hard...just too much for a single employee to handle.
