I headed straight from PBI to the rental location to find out that they had NO cars available and that other people are waiting for SUVs to come in too and that I should call the next day to see if anything is available. I finally made it home from the break down in thee rain and called them and they said they would not charge me for the 2nd day. 2 weeks later I get an invoice from them showing they did not remove the 2nd day charge. Bottom line, is I got a 1/2 day use a of a car I didn't want in the first place and was charged for 2 days rental and loss 20$ worth of power that someone else got to use. Very disappointing experience with Hertz Delray Beach…read more I reserved a Tesla Model 3 through the Uber app because it showed one was available. When I arrived, there were no Teslas. Jasmine offered me a Polestar as a temporary solution until a Tesla became available. While we were inspecting the Polestar, a red Tesla actually arrived. I made it clear that I wanted that Tesla because I have a Tesla charger at home, and she said she would contact me as soon as it was ready. I emailed her my phone number when I got home so there would be no excuse for not reaching me. Instead, I later got an email saying the Tesla had already been given away and that I would be stuck with the Polestar until the following week. That mattered because the Polestar would cost me about $45 every time I needed to fully charge it at a public station. Since I rented through Uber, those extra charging costs on top of the rental made the deal nearly impossible to justify financially. Hertz did absolutely nothing to make this right. Even worse, the local branch does not answer the phone, so everything had to be documented through email. Do not advertise Teslas as available if you cannot provide them, and do not promise customers a swap if you have no intention of following through.

Everyone was so kind that my wife and I both looked at each other in disbelief. We rent cars a lot, and it seems that horrible customer service is the norm, but not here. Mike and his daughter were friendly and accommodating, even the shuttle drivers to and from the airport were great! I don't think the negative experiences in the other reviews (I notice none of them are recent) were the fault of the agency, if the versions of the stories are even accurate. We booked through Orbitz and had ZERO issues, but I believe 3rd-party reservations limit what can be done at the counter. Still, we were told at pick-up that there was a 1-hr grace period for drop-off before it becomes another day of rental. For us, that would be an extra $55. We hoped the grace period would suffice, but ended up having to extend our reservation 2.5 hours beyond the grace period, knowing we'd have to eat the $55. At drop-off, I asked if there was anything they could do, and they were able to switch it to an hourly extension instead of a full day, so it was only $27 extra. So we strolled out of there with a renewed faith in humanity, and wonder if the bad reviews were actually for a different agency (I know that happens a lot).

So, you call them and tell them that will be fine. You will be there between 12:30-1:00. Then, you call the company when you have your bags and are on the shuttle. When you get there, they tell you they have canceled your reservation because you're late. Really? The only "accommodation " they can give you is a new reservation at a MUCH higher rate. This company is run by a bunch of poorly trained baboons and I will never use them again!

I was told the engine had been rebuilt, that the vehicle was in great condition, and that I shouldn't have any major problems. Unfortunately, that couldn't have been further from the truth. On the very first day I owned the vehicle, it broke down and left me stranded in the middle of the road. One of their mechanics came out, couldn't identify the issue, and convinced me that it was just a one-time problem and that the car was still in good condition. I trusted them. About two weeks later, the exact same problem happened again. They took the vehicle back and attempted another repair. This cycle continued over and over for approximately four months. Every time, I was told it had been fixed, only for the same issue to return. Eventually, instead of standing behind what they sold me, I was simply told they could no longer help me fix the vehicle. To make matters worse, additional problems began appearing, including the air conditioning leaking and other mechanical issues. What disappointed me the most wasn't just the car--it was the lack of accountability. I trusted their statements about the condition of the vehicle and the repairs that had supposedly been done. Instead, I ended up with a vehicle that repeatedly broke down almost immediately after purchase. My experience was frustrating, stressful, and expensive.
