I just want to say this restaurant is doing everything right! We've eaten here a few times and the meals are always enjoyable. Today, they really went above and beyond. My family has been doing take out at least once a week to help support local businesses and their employees during these crazy times. Not only was I able to order online but when I got there a runner greeted me at my car with gloves on and maintained a 3 ft distance. My food was ready at the time given during ordering despite them being busy (probably 20+tickets in the window and a dozen cars in the lot). Their team was firing on all cylinders with a staffed kitchen, someone at the computer, and food runners. They get 10 out of 5 stars for going the extra mile during these unprecedented times. I checked in on Yelp on our way to the restaurant (which was a good thing since it said 30-50 minute wait for Friday night at 5:30pm). We got there right around 6pm and were told it wouldn't take too long. It ended up being a 15-20ish minute wait at the restaurant. They had free breadstick cracker things which were perfect teething snacks for my 1 year old daughter! She was still getting restless so the manager noticed us and gave her a free meatball while waiting which was so nice!! She was getting fussy after we had been seated and our waitress brought over little condiment cups for her to stack and play with. We were so impressed by how accommodating and child friendly they were! We got the Aviva pizza and buffalo chicken pizza - both were REALLY good pizzas! We also got cannoli for dessert which was super tasty! Not a super sugary/sweet cannoli which is exactly what I like. The cookie was crunchy and the filling was so good! I would definitely recommend Aviva and we will certainly be back! read more

I used to love this place, not anymore! I loved the spinacci salad they had and it's no longer offered. I had a red beet salad that was VERY DISAPPOINTING! it was supposed to be made with spring mix, they combined romaine which I absolutely hate! The salad was $8 and it should have been $4 at the most. My husband's salad looked better but his pizza hardly had any sauce and he asked me if they changed ownership. I won't be coming back, very disappointed with their food! read more

We just ordered a curb side pickup tonight. The employee that brought the meal to the car was wearing a mask, gloves and was very polite. The food was hot and incredible. We have always liked Aviva Brick Oven food and the staff. The food we ordered tonight was just as good (maybe better) as when eating onsite. I encourage everyone to support this wonderful neighborhood establishment during this pandemic. You will love the food and curbside service for now. We hadn't been here in a few years. Previously, it was a place we knew to have incredibly good pizza, but it lacked ambiance. Well, we went back the other night and we were blown away with how they've renovated the place. This is a small commercial building with room for 4 tenants, and in the past, a hair salon occupied one of the center spots. It has since vacated, allowing Aviva to expand. They completely renovated the dining room and put in a full bar with the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in! The food was just as good as we remembered, and now there is an excellent selection of craft beer to go along with it! The only bummer is the unisex bathroom in the bar area. You have to walk back towards the dining room part of the building to get to the single sex bathrooms. This is a real gem of a place. Go there. You won't be disappointed. read more

One of the best pizza joints in Pittsburgh! They only offer one size of pizza which takes choosing the size out of the equation and leaves you with only the decision of which pizzas to order--not a bad problem to have since every pizza they make is fresh and delicious! You have to try their Aviva Salad. The large size is good for sharing with 2 or 3 people as a side dish to their pizza. And if you don't like their standard list of pizzas, you can make your own. Their pepperoni and hot peppers combo is my absolute favorite. Unlike most places that throw in banana pepper rings, Aviva's peppers have a little kick to them. This family owned pizzeria in located in a new shopping center just south of Cranberry Twp. on Rt. 19. Went in recently for the first time on a weekday night with my sweet B.J. The interior is fairly attractive, beautiful stacked rock wall, warm fireplace and interesting photographs on the walls. We thought this would be pretty much an order at the counter kind of place, but it's not. The restaurant was not very busy, so we were seated right away. The tables are complete with cloth napkins and a tea light candle holder. The menu is short, with just 4 appetizers, 4 different salads, a couple soups, 10 different brick oven pizza choices and 5 different panini sandwiches. You can also pick your own pizza and panini toppings. They do not serve alcohol, it's B.Y.O.B. Drink choices include San Pellegrino Italian sodas and green and iced tea. We selected the meatball appetizer. We got 6 nice sized balls in sauce served with ciabatta bread. We were impressed that they were all meat, no filler, not overly spicy, very tasty! We also shared a $4 side salad. It was nice mixed greens, cucumber, a tomato slice and lots of my favorite red onion splitters with balsamic vinaigrette. This salad was big enough for the two of us to share. We also picked the Aviva pizza. It has their signature tomato sauce, hot banana peppers, buffalo mozzarella and crumbled Italian sausage. This pizza was spicy. We both loved the thin crust and appreciated that is was not greasy or soggy. Love, love, loved the pizza. For dessert, we shared a tiramisu. The dessert was good, although we suspect that it wasn't homemade. Service from Vincent was excellent. He was friendly, very attentive and kept things moving right along. Since it has opened we have made a habit of stopping in almost twice a month. Great food is the main reason we go. Usually good service as well, that was until today when me and my girlfriend stopped in before out usual dinner rush. It's was at 3:30 when we arrived, a young man seated us quickly and got our drink orders, after we placed out orders for the "feature dishes $25.95" which is not labeled at all but falls on me for not asking. We then waiting 15 minutes for 2 Caesar salads that looked a little sad, I also had to ask this boy 3 times and every time after that 1st three times to refill my drink, my girlfriend didn't even finish her salad...two bites, no credit to the bill, then this boy rushed us with a box for left overs after we told him we are still eating. In short I was so pissed the tip was under two dollars and and as we walked out and watch him update his Facebook I flipped him the bird and he didn't even notice. Sorry Aviva but the sour taste is now there and that was the last time I spend money in any of your " Restaurants " Tip: Stop hiring kids. read more

Coworkers have been recommending Aviva for months, and I finally made it up to Warrendale to give it a try. It's an unassuming restaurant that has taken over a little shopping plaza. The atmosphere was casual and comfy, and there was a giant TV to catch some of the playoff games while we ate. House wine glasses were generously filled and reasonably priced. My boyfriend and I split the Aviva salad and the white margarita pizza. It was the perfect amount of food for two. I left feeling full but not stuffed. The Aviva salad had chickpeas, sunflower seeds, Gorgonzola cheese, tomatoes, mixed greens and homemade Italian dressing and was fresh and tasty. Pizza was solid and flavorful. No complaints here. I came here for lunch the other day with my mom, and we had a pretty good meal for the most part. We ordered the Eggplant Ricotta sandwich and the Portobello Mushroom pizza and shared. I wasn't crazy about the sandwich because the bread was too hard for my taste. I thought the filling itself was tasty, but my mom wasn't a fan. The dish came with chips - I didn't realize we had a choice of roasted potatoes or pasta salad until after. I feel like our waitress should've asked us what we preferred? She did a great job otherwise though. We both agreed that the pizza was much better. For $13.95, you get a lovely medium-sized pie with house-made fresh mozzarella, portobello mushrooms, Aviva signature marinara, and fresh basil. The restaurant itself was clean and spacious. I don't drink so the BYOB doesn't apply to me, but I think that'd be a plus for many. The parking lot's not too big, but they offer complimentary valet so that's convenient. I'll have to come for dinner and try their pasta & meat specialties - they don't offer them at lunch - but for now, I recommend sticking with their pizza. read more

The pizza is awesome! From everything from the atmosphere, food, wait staff, and selection, this place should be your go-to when you're craving anything Italian. My mother and I ordered the Vodka pizza, Beans n' greens (with no meat), and the Aviva salad. Everything was delicious!! Our waiter was very friendly, helpful, personable, and very funny. The only negative thing that happened is when we got there, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated because the greeters were not attentive to the door or line of people behind us. We've eaten here several times, and we've also gotten it to go several times. This place is consistently good. They just changed owners and it's easy to tell the new owner is anxious for a success and doesn't mind putting money into the operation. My favorite dishes are the penne vodka and the spinach alfredo, both with chicken added. My husband is an opinionated New Yorker, and he loves the brick oven pizza. I would give Aviva 3.5 stars. This is a huge pizza place- it literally takes over the entire plaza. We came here for a family and friends dinner. The inside is clean and is appealing to the eye. It is a classier that a pizza parlor, has a full bar and craft pizzas. The pizza here comes with Gluten free options, but they don't get bigger than 12" which is kind of a bummer. We all got different pizzas I got the chicken Alfredo- gluten free which was much thinner than the normal dough. my friend got the vegetable, white margarita, and my friends dad got the cheese (because he forgot his glasses and could not read the menu). The chicken Alfredo surprisingly was not as good as I imagined- it wasnt bad or anything but it wasn't what i was expecting in flavor. Vegetable pizza was my favorite good array a veggies and it was tasty gluten free. The cheese and white Margarita were both quite delicious as well. Nothing unbelievable for the price of 12-16 dollars a pizza. However I do value healthy pizzas with gluten free options to assist those who want to eat what they crave but are trying to monitor and choose healthier options. I have lived in the cranberry area for a little over a year now and I finally just got in to try this place. Boy am I glad that I did! I tend to kind of be a huge fan of coal fired pizza restaurants in general, and this one was no exception. Because it was my first time coming here, I ordered the pepperoni pizza, which was very solid. It had just the right amount of sauce and the crust was to die for! My girlfriend ordered the chicken florentine sandwich (chicken, pesto, fresh mozzarella, balsamic, spinach, and roasted red peppers) and she was extremely happy with her decision. The options for sides were pasta salad, roasted red skin potatoes, or potato chips. We chose the roasted red skin potatoes and they were cooked nice and crispy. I wish there was more options to choose for from sides, I don't really want to go to a restaurant and get a bag of potato chips. Next time we go there, I plan on trying the pesto chicken pizza or one of their other specialty pies. read more

Ok so I'm a firm believer in Italian is either good or not. Aviva is good - really good. The wedding soup (and I'm picky about my wedding soup) is great. I usually like it real simple and usually restaurants make theirs way too salty. Aviva's is great. Comforting and delicious. We also sampled the gnocchi - ricotta, just like we like them and fluffy little pillows of heaven. The pork chops - wow! Definitely make a trip. The staff is friendly, sweet and top notch! read more

Last Night was our first time at Aviva Brick Oven Pizza. It was the best pizza I have had in a very long time. The crust was light and toasty. Not tough and difficult to eat like some brick oven pizza. Ingredients were good quality. Pizza had a beautiful presentation. . I'd show you a photo but we pretty much inhaled it so that wasn't possible. We had a Veggie Pizza with Black olives instead of green peppers. It is pricy. But I'd trade a few bucks for good quality food. Our Servers Name was Arum. He was very attentive to our needs. If we needed anything he was on it. He was very respectful. So we will be going back again for sure! Oh another note. They do have a gluten sensitive alternative crust. I usually get that crust if it's an option. but forgot to order it. I did not have any problems with the regular multigrain Pizza crust. It was a pleasant surprise. So I totally recommend this pizza hope your experience is as good as ours was ! read more

Went from 3 to 4 stars because the food is fresh and good, reasonably priced, welcoming to groups and children, lovely surroundings, BYOB (love it) and can't wait to go on a Tuesday night for free childrens' entrees with purchase of adult entree meal. Atmosphere - very nice, small-ish with 10-15 tables in a clean modern atmosphere. In my experiences the staff has been very accepting of larger groups with reservations, small children, and groups that want to sit. The music is a little loud for me but much quieter than others - you can still hear the person across from you. Service - very nice, helpful, not over-involved but that is not a bad thing. I've heard that service has improved dramatically since opening hiccups that may explain another poor review. I've never waited for long though have been there on Monday evenings and in the afternoons. Drinks - BYOB. Food - I've had salads, soup, and pizzas all reasonably priced and pretty good over 3 visits. Once my pizza was perfectly cooked with thin crust that was almost crispy. Another time while the toppings were very tasty - good tomatoes from a can probably, fresh basil, creamy fresh mozzarella, delicious sauteed portobellos all for $12 - the crust was underdone and soggy though still good because it was so thin. I could eat half of the pizza (4 of 8 pieces). In all cases I needed to add salt. read more

Gibsonia store: I live in the neighborhood and this is my Wife and I 3rd time visiting. I just wanted you to know that after our couple of visits to Warrendale I no longer have to travel so far to have a awesome dining experience. I just have to go up the street to the Gibsonia location. The staff is always very friendly and the food is over the top. The pizza selection has some very interesting choices that when ordered, we are never disappointed. Asked tonight is gift cards are available and waitstaff said that the cards should be ready soon. I will gladly wait for I am sure the recipient will be very happy to receive gift and after visiting store will probably tell others. Unfortunately as a long time customer I should have known that I had a trainee when I called in my takeout order of Penna Alla Vodka add crumbled sausage and his question is what kind of "pasta do you want with that?" I even made sure to mention "add crumbled sausage" twice and after a somewhat long pause he said "Yep I found it"! Sadly there was no crumbled sausage in my Penne Alla Vodka -- but at least they got the Penne part right. This was a bit disappointing that they can't train their staff correctly -- and I already paid for it! The food is delicious so I am certain we will give them another chance -- although from now on I will double check my takeout order before leaving the restaurant and hopefully my Wexford Firefighter husband won't be too disappointed when he gets home this evening. read more

My wife and I decided to try this place when I found out they contribute to GoodDining. We arrived at about 5:30 on a Saturday and they said there'd be a 15-minute wait, so as we had somewhere to be, we opted to sit at the "bar", which is more of a counter than a bar, really. We decided to try ordering simple to make sure the restaurant can handle the easy stuff before we go for anything more exotic, so a pepperoni pie was in order. Sitting at the bar allows you to watch them form the crust from the dough and apply fresh sauce and ingredients. The pizza itself was fantastic, but I'm accustomed to getting a bit more for my money. $12 for 8 smallish slices is right on the edge of what I'm willing to spend. I'm a bit of a bottomless pit when it comes to thin crust pizza, so 4 slices left me wanting more. I do look forward to returning in order to try some of the other things on their menu. read more

Exceeded my expectations. Driving by, the exterior doesn't stand out too much but take a stop in, it is worth it, although some might find it a little too pricey. The interior is aesthetically pleasing. I had spaghetti minus the meatballs and cheese pizza. Both were delicious! I wasn't sure I'd like brick oven style pizza but the pizza was just right and didn't have a burnt or charcoal taste. The other people I was with got the meatball panino and the Italian panino. They were very pleased with their order as well. I will definitely come back here again some time. read more
