Delicious salad alert!! I've had my eye on this place for awhile, but have never been able to go in person because of their very limited hours, only 8am-3pm, and closed on weekends. Luckily, they provide free delivery on doordash! I had trouble deciding what to get because wow, everything from the luscious salads to the creative smoothies (lychee dragonfruit?!) to the lentil soup looks irresistible. I settled on the My Thai salad, which features spicy whole cashews and watermelon radish. The avocado (perfectly ripe) and the tofu rounded it out as a satisfying and delicious meal. The ginger sesame dressing was perfectly light and flavorful. I am so excited I discovered this place. I noticed this place when I came to pick up lunch a few weeks before and when I saw it on Mealpal, I gladly tried the Mayan bowl. Their meals are more like either avocado toast or super nutritious, topping-packed salads with a spicy kick. I arrived for my selection and it was nice that it was ready upon arrival. Having a half of avo in the bowl makes a difference. Very fresh and hearty. I will likely enjoy another one of their tasty bowls again when I'm in the area. I had difficulty choosing from all the avocadoriffic menu items but ultimately went with the burrata dream toast, because I love burrata almost as much as I love avocados. It arrived packed extremely neatly, and in ENTIRELY compostable packaging, which makes me ridiculously happy. (Utensils, straws, even the clear lid for the paper bowl, are all bio plastic!) They way they slice and arrange the avocado is gorgeous- I was not expecting such impressive presentation on a delivery order. The combination of flavors and textures was awesome, although I could have done with slightly less balsamic tanginess. Will definitely be going back to try some other offerings. read more

Ordered lunch to go and my order is nothing short of heaven! I got the portobello road avo bowl which comes with avo, chicken, mushrooms, brown rice, and kale. It comes with chipotle mayo but I didn't put that in bc health and the bowl seriously doesn't need it, it's SO good. I LOVE avocados more than anything and the grilled chicken is perfectly cooked and seasoned. I am a huge fan and can't wait to come back to try the toasts! I LOVE AVOCADOS!! If the first three words of this review isn't obvious enough, let's make it clear that I am a serious avocado lover. So when I heard about AVOCADARIA, I knew I had to visit. It was smaller than anticipated, but service was fast and food was delicious! The prices were expensive though and I am not sure I can personally justify spending $10 on avocado on toast when I can just make it at home. The creative twist on the menu items makes it slightly more worth it though. I would return to try more creative menu items, but not for the simple stuff. I ordered the za'atar flower and it was good, but too much hummus for me that overpowered the avo taste :(. Overall, nice small place for a quick bite. This place is new in the food terminal hall but definitely worth trying. Their toast is delicious -- I tried the smoked salmon avocado with lime and everything bagel seasoning, and it was fully loaded with perfectly ripened avocado. Also got their vanilla almond avocado shake which was extremely thick and creamy. Very filling but could've used a little more sweetener or additional dates. I get it if you're trying to be healthy but it needs a bit more natural sugar in my opinion. Pricing is a tad expensive but not when you compare it to other places in the area. This spot is super hard to miss if you aren't looking out for it. The location is in the Food and Wine building on 11th and as soon as you enter into the building Avocaderia is right there. I placed my takeout order online and it was ready for me to pick up within 5 mins of me order it. The food was ready for pick up as soon as I got there! The only reason I couldn't give this review a 5 star is that I ordered a lunch combo and they forgot my terra chips. The missing chips were probably for the better and I detail what my boyfriend and I both ordered below. I ordered the NY Salmon Avocado Toast. It was delicious! They cut the bread ahead of time which I loved and it made eating the toast so easy. I didn't even need a fork to get all the toppings in one bite. Would definitely get this again! My boyfriend made his own burrito and was not satisfied with it. The peril of creating your own. Next time we go back he will probably order something they suggest. Which on my last 2 trips coming here both girls took my order *gloves on then proceed to start preparing my order. F^*# DISGUSTING and both were oblivious to doing this. So, I nicely asked the first time it happened if she could change her gloves as she was about to place my avo on the toast and she gave me an attitude but did it. Today was the second time and the same thing happened...so unfortunately I will no longer support this establishment. It's a health risk touching a payment screen full of bacteria and then preparing food. RECIPE FOR FOOD POISONING. They also don't even use paper in btw the avo slices ..instead of having it separated and in btw wax paper or something..so when they go get it in the fridge there is no need to touch it. Lastly, sorry to say but the lack of customer treatment is poor and they are NOT properly trained plus seem checked out of their job. I've followed the original location of Avocaderia on Instagram for a few months and was so excited that their new location opened up right in time for my work trip to Manhattan! I was able to walk the half mile from Javits Center easily. My only complaint: The restaurant was difficult for me to find because it's located in a large building with other restaurants and offices, and they did not open until 11:30 even though the website says 11. HOWEVER it was totally worth the wait! I got the limited edition Burrata Avocado Toast which was amazing (both in presentation and taste). The avocado was perfectly ripe and expertly sliced, the peas and mint paired nicely with the thick slice of bread, and the dollop of cheese in the middle had me craving more. I also got the dragonfruit smoothie which was also delicious. I was able to taste every individual ingredient (which also included avocado and lychee). I saw this restaurant on an episode of Shark Tank...and I was intrigued. I like avocados--who doesn't?. So I finally dropped into the new on in Chelsea. I ordered a Portobello Road...and added Chicken. There is supposed to be avocados (none--isn't that the point of the name?????), and hummus (none), and dressing (none). It was a dry dish that consisted mostly of SLIMY overcooked portobello mushrooms. They were generous with chicken chunks...but they were so big that you had to cut them in four pieces to get them into your mouth. A weird funky chalky texture to the chicken. Absolutely inedible. In to the trash it went. Really was afraid I would get food poisoning. Maybe order avocado toast...but be sure to ask...does it actually come with avocado. I have to pull my phone out while eating this to warn you all. I stopped in on a whim and am incredibly underwhelmed. I ordered the My Thai bowl to go, but my meal is missing the shredded cabbage, bean sprouts, AND spicy cashews. However, they did add on crunched up tortilla chips meant for their chips and guacamole, which do not belong on a Thai bowl. Very bland taste and not at all worth the price. read more

I feel a bit mislead by the name of this establishment. Or maybe my idea of an Avocaderia is different than others. I certainly know what guacamole is, as I've been powering down the stuff for years at various family gatherings, Mexican restaurants, casual cocktail parties...you get the picture. I'm a sucker for the guac. I may even double dip at such affairs. Sue me! Anyhow, even my notion of the very essence of what guacamole is was challenged after my visit to this place that calls itself the Avocaderia. After ordering only a small $7 bowl of guac with chips (seriously? $7 for a bowl of guac smaller than my 5 year old nephews balled up fist?) I was served a bowl of brown, very runny liquid (similar looking to the messes that said nephew tends to make in his pants every now and again). This must be some sort of salsa right? Nope. It was what they called the guacamole. Needless to say I won't be returning here.
