    Old Towels

I will open by saying that the staff are very kind and that I have been doing float therapy at another location for over a year and so I'm not unfamiliar with float tanks or what the experience should be like. When walking in I immediately noticed the use of brown/beige old towels instead of the usual white towels for hospitality. Small detail but you generally offer white towels so it's visible that they're clean. When walking into room 1 I noticed immediately an off-putting pungent mold/mildew smell. The floor in front of the float tank had a towel already on the floor presumably because it's not tiled/waterproofed to protect the laminate floor. Now the tank itself is nothing like I've seen before. Other locations have built in lights, sound and bars for safety so that you can lift yourself back up. This looked more like a steel tank that somebody retrofitted with vinyl/plastic lining. There was visible mold growing in the tanks door crevices and the entire inside also smelled off-putting. Unfortunately do not recommend due to cleanliness and the disparity in quality to other locations in Socal for the same or less money.

This is the door to the float tank

Update: after my shortened float, Ben the owner got in contact with me and offered me a complimentary float. Awesome customer service and great experience. I'll be back when I'm in town the float tank itself is great as well.

AMAZING! So grateful I got to experience this. PARKING: big lot, easy to find a spot. PRICING: so worth it. Do it. Try it out. HYGIENE: impeccable. Shampoo, conditioner, soap, and micellar water are all provided. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The owner, Eric, is incredible. He works hard and is knowledgeable and super genuine. Huge fan of his. Learned so much about floating. Can't wait to do it again! EXPERIENCE: OMG. So different than anything I experienced. Fell asleep 3-4 times and would jolt myself up. So great!! Thanks, Eric!

YES! So happy I found Awaken Float Lounge. I've floated before and love the light, relaxed, carefree feeling after every session. Awaken is super clean, peaceful, and professional. It is the perfect place to go for your first float or your 10th float. You don't have to worry about the tank being unsanitary or gross! They provide everything including towels, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, ear plugs, and a cold bottle of water. You just need to bring yourself and RELAX. If you've never floated before, the first time can be anxiety-provoking and difficult to completely let go, but don't give up! I recommend getting the two float Groupon to try it out. The second time, you'll know what to expect and be able to relax. It's an incredible experience to have your racing mind clear and not worry about emails, texts, snaps, news, work, etc. It's so refreshing. Highly recommend floating at Awaken!

Float therapy is not for everyone. I read reviews about how it works for meditation and relaxation. I thought it'd be helpful for my friend and me to try out at least once. We got a deal through Groupon and booked an appointment online. Easy enough. We found out they only have two tanks/rooms, which are separated, so only two people can book at the same time. Their location is off the 91/55 fwy in the corner with the brown buildings. If you enter from Tustin/Lincoln, stay to your right in the parking lot. I had to sign a waiver when I got there, and I had no issues with processing the Groupon. The place is clean, which I really appreciate. The host guy was nice and explained things well. The individual room has a shower and racks to hang your clothes. They provide shampoo, conditioner, body soap, towels, and ear plugs. I like using my own products, so I took the advice from another Yelper to bring and use my own. The actual floating experience did not go so well for me. It took me a long time to get used to. I actually felt that the water could have been hotter. I got cold within ~10 minutes of floating - I couldn't even submerge my body under the water. The water tank/room was pitch black, so I just closed my eyes to keep from going insane. My head felt like the heaviest part of my body in the beginning. I would fall in and out of sleep; each time I woke up I wondered "how much longer??" Eventually I fell asleep completely but woke up when the music started playing. I woke up thinking I was in my own bed. I recommend rinsing off EVERYWHERE. Later in the day, my earlobes still were caked with salt. I'm glad I tried it, but I don't think I'll be doing this again.

We are feeling super relaxed & refreshed from the sensory deprivation tank.

Would floating help with chronic back pain?

Hi Mai, we have a lot of clients that float to reduce pain and have positive results.

Could you play music or leave the tank a little bit open?

Yes, re leaving the tank open.

How deep is the water? I want to bring my mom and she is on the bigger side and I am worried she might touch the bottom, which would ruin her experience I think. I've never done this either so I dont know how much the salt helps you float.?

If you never had a chance to learn swim properly, would it still be ok to try it out?

Absolutely this isn't a pool its less than 2' deep I would think. Plus you float, even if you wanted to sink your limbs pop up.

Well in middle-age, floating has been a necessary and therapeutic service that allows me to continue to stay active, reduce stress, and recover. Upon my last visit, I was informed of the new contrast service. I have never cold plunged before. I regularly utilize the cryo tank at least 4 times a year, so I thought why not? I was a little nervous, but the contrast room has the perfect aesthetic, and the combination of the dry sauna and cold plunge was AMAZING! The cold plunge is not for the faint at heart, but after researching the many benefits, well worth it! After my session, I immediately felt the differences. My body is still reaping the benefits well in 48 hours. I floated first, then did the contrast. For me, my dream recovery and refocus services for mind, body, and spirit! Great job, Float State! My only small disappointment, I miss the old staff and their genuine rapport and personalities. When I came in, they new my name and I felt like family. Now, I just feel like a number. No one is rude or unpleasant, their body language and conversation is just low effort. There are a couple of individuals I know by name, but the enthusiasm isn't the same. Like I said, this is relatively small and by no means takes away from the experience.

She was very friendly and took the time to clearly explain how to use the pod, which I appreciated. However, once I stepped inside, I noticed the bottom of the pod felt slimy. I tried to ignore it and continue with the session, but after closing the lid and looking around, I saw hair from other clients floating in the water along with various other particles. I'm not sure exactly what everything was, but it made it impossible for me to relax. Knowing I was floating in water that appeared unclean made me extremely uncomfortable, and I ended up getting out of the pod early. I was told the filters run frequently, but based on what I observed, I found it hard to believe they are working properly. Given this experience, I would not feel comfortable returning to use the pods again.

Why it's worth hard earned cash? Imagine your body as a…read moresymphony orchestra--each instrument representing a system: muscles, nerves, hormones, immune cells. When you're in chronic pain or stress, the orchestra plays out of tune--the violins screech, the percussion races, the flutes can't keep up. Now imagine magnesium as the conductor's tuning fork. It doesn't play an instrument itself. It doesn't hand you new strings or hit the drums. Instead, it emits a calming resonance--subtle, precise--that helps the musicians retune themselves. When you immerse yourself in a float tank, it's like laying the entire orchestra in a perfectly quiet concert hall filled with that tuning resonance. The magnesium ions, the warm water, the silence, the weightlessness--all create a chemical and sensory silence where your body's instruments can hear themselves again and fall back into alignment.

Instead of the egg-shaped pods, Float clinic has little rooms which I thought looked roomy and interesting based on the photos. The good: * I do like how you can step directly from the shower into the float tank. The tanks are fairly roomy, I'm 5'8" and felt I had a decent amount of room. * the bathroom was clean and equipped with hair dryers * the lobby is cute and inviting * friendly staff, good overview of the float process The meh: * my float tank door didn't close all the way, and my room light didn't automatically turn off which was distracting. I eventually got out and flipped the switch * salt wasn't fully dissolved, tank maybe a little oversaturated * I actually prefer the elliptical pods, I found the corners distracting * shower curtain was gross, I wish they just had like a half wall which would be easier to clean * there was caution tape in the shower and the frame around the door of the tank was popping off - just didn't look that nice. * just the one bathroom and the hairdryers are in there so you hold up the toilet if you use them - would be nice if there was a separate space for this * the place I usually go has thoughtful touches like little packages of Vaseline to cover any small scrapes so the salt doesn't burn, hot tea available, other little things - Float Clinic didn't have those, was pretty bare bones. Final verdict: for me, this was just ok. I've had a much nicer float experience at my usual spot and now I'm spoiled. Glad I got a float in while I was in town but wouldn't return.

I came in dealing with chronic fatigue and brain fog and after a few weeks on his recommended protocol I genuinely feel like a different person. Way more energy, sleeping better, thinking clearer. Troy and the team make you feel like family from the second you walk in. Nobody's trying to sell you anything.
