Oohh Mexican food -- cinco de mayo quality all the time..

Welcoming place with top notch Tex mex and a quality bar! Fast service and follow up.... Patio or inside -- and the taste is just spicy for me!

Walking in, you quickly realize that the interior could use some serious updating (ripped booths, outdated decor, a lot of dust, etc.) and it becomes even more obvious when it's a long wait to get seated in a relatively empty restaurant... Once we finally got seated, we were greeted with a warm, friendly server! They answered every question I had and provided some great recommendations. We started with chips and salsa, which were a huge disappointment. It's hard to mess those up, but they did! The salsa was basically water and wouldn't stay on the chips, which were bland and very rough/rubbery. I ending up ordering the Coronarita, which was HUGE, along with a combination platter that had an enchilada, burrito, and chalupa. The enchilada and burrito were very delicious, but the chalupa was "meh" at best. The rice that came with it was dry and slightly tough, but the beans were really tasty!

Really fun environment, but do expect a little bit of a wait for your food. We got there early for dinner (about 4:30pm), and got seated right away. But, after ordering our food, it took about an hour to get it-- we started eating about 5:50-6. Of course, all the food was delicious. I got the combo with enchilada, chalupa, and a tamale. House margs were delicious but high in sugar. In the future, I would order the wine! I saw several people with wine and they were very heavy pours.

I read a number of the reviews while we were waiting for service, and I was a little disappointed: seems like many people were not very happy with this Restaurant. Luckily, our experience was entirely different, and much better, I really enjoyed this visit. I ordered the Chile Relleno platter, and it came with a nice batter dip, deep-fried, and the interior of the poblano pepper was nicely filled with queso Blanco. My wife had the fajita platter, and the meat and vegetables were nicely seared, and both of our platters had delicious beans and rice as an accompaniment. My wife's plate had guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo. We each had a margarita, and each of us thought it was good. The restaurant was relatively quiet, well attended at lunchtime, and I thought that our waiter was quite pleasant. All in all, I look forward to returning to this restaurant, once we move down to the villages.

Excellent food! We ordered fajita burrito, chimichanga, enchilada, tamale, and the Jalisco burrito. Everything was delicious and spicy. The salsa that came with the chips was too cold, but really tasty! Although the restaurant is getting a bit rundown, the bathrooms were spotless and the food was delicious. The guacamole was also amazing, according to the guacamole-loving members of our family.

There was just no wow factor in these burgers. Swiss muchroom burger had good flavor, but the burger itself was very small. They tried to hide it in an over sized bun. The bourbon burger had a funny taste, but same small burger. The coldslaw was a joke. Came in a plastic cup, with a lid and the cup was probably 1/3 of a measuring cup. TINY. The special drew me in, but it did not make a repeat customer out of me. $16 for one burger (out of the BOGO timing) is way over priced.

It arrived looking wonderful with nice chunks of turkey. I took a bite and also got some avocado that was very overripe. Took another bite, same thing, and then I realized there was no avocado! The turkey was as soft and mushy as an overripe avocado... it was absolutely disgusting and sickening! The server brought me a new salad made with chicken, instead of turkey & said the manager had been shown my salad. The manager did not bother to come speak with me. I was still upset and worried that I would be getting sick from the turkey, & called today to speak to the manager. He acknowledged that he should have come to the table & claimed there had been nothing wrong with the turkey beyond it had been sitting too long in brine.... I cannot imagine how many days sitting in brine it took to turn chunks of turkey breast into literal mush.

STOP THE PRESS!! We have a winner. Nominated for #1 gyro…read moreplatter for the state of Florida. It started out with quick courteous service. The ambiance was of an upscale small specialty restaurant. Had the gyro platter and what an incredible meal. The meat was a generous portion that was sliced thin. The meat was hot, seasoned to perfection and tender. The small side salad was fresh and with the Greek dressing was amazing. The seasoned fries were hot and tasty. Soooo delicious could not stop eating. Very content and feeling full. If you are anywhere near here you owe it to yourself to stop and sample the food.

The food was okay. Perfectly respectable. The kind of meal where you nod, say, "Yeah, that's pretty…read moregood," and continue living your life. The rice was a little dry, but flavorful enough to avoid prosecution. The hummus was good. The fries were solid. The lamb was easily the star of the meal and, for a brief shining moment, all was right with the world. Then came the beer. Halfway through drinking it, I discovered the glass was cracked. Not scratched. Not chipped in some charming artisanal way. Cracked. So now dinner had unexpectedly become a game of "Did I Just Drink From Broken Glass?" I pointed it out to the bartender, assuming the response would be fairly straightforward: apology, fresh glass, full replacement beer, perhaps a quiet acknowledgment that drinking vessels should generally remain in one piece. Instead, I received a replacement beer that was about two-thirds full. Sir. We have moved beyond beer accounting. You just served me a drink in a cracked glass. I had already consumed half of it before noticing. I could have cut my lip, swallowed something I definitely did not order, or spent the rest of the evening wondering whether my next stop was home or urgent care. And somehow, in the middle of all that, we still found time to save approximately one-third of a beer. I wasn't asking for ownership of the restaurant. I wasn't demanding reparations from the Greek government. I just wanted one complete, unbroken beer. The food was okay. Good food-truck-level okay. The lamb was genuinely very good. But the cracked glass followed by the carefully rationed replacement turned an otherwise ordinary meal into a minor Greek tragedy. And perhaps that is where the lesson lives. For what is a man, really, but a temporary vessel wandering through an indifferent universe, hoping only that his hummus is creamy, his lamb is tender, and the vessel holding his beer is not actively trying to murder him? The ancient Greeks warned us about hubris. I always assumed they meant kings challenging the gods. Perhaps they meant bartenders looking at a cracked beer glass and thinking, "Two-thirds should cover it." Somewhere, Dionysus wept. But maybe the missing third of that beer was not a loss at all. Is one-third of a beer really worth carrying anger home? No. Life moves fast enough. Slow down. Enjoy the lamb. Laugh at the absurdity. Appreciate that the glass failed in its assassination attempt. Sometimes the universe takes a little more beer than seems fair. Let it. Be positive. And like all great Greek heroes, I escaped with my life, my dignity... slightly less beer than I was owed. Let this be a life lesson, Evan. I

We went for the $17.76 special that was a 4th of July special. It was $17.76 for a lobster, crab legs, shrimp and corn and potatoes. It was delicious, and a steal for that price. We went at lunch time, so had no issues with them being out of it. They recently offered a $22, 2 lobster special (no sides). I tried to get reservations for that one, but they were ran out of reservations quickly and I didn't want to have to wait in a long line to eat. They offer these great specials with some frequency. If you go around lunch time, they have a Lakeside Lites menu (I'm pretty sure it's only lunchtime and only mon-fri), but they have nicely portioned lunches at a great price. My husband loves the 4oz. burger and fries ($8.99) and I usually get either the fish or shrimp tacos with fries. Most of the items on that menu are under $10 and perfectly portioned for lunch. If you sit outside, the view is amazing of the lake. They have several overhead fans running, so even if it's hot, it's still worth sitting outside. My daughter had the lunch fish and chips and really enjoyed that also. If you're looking for a reasonably priced lunch with a fantastic view and great staff, then this is your spot.
