Very mixed first order from Bludsos. I remember back when they were in Compton selling out of the parking lot weekly. The bbq world has changed, obviously with inflation the prices have gone up significantly. I live really close to this location and it took me too long to get some of their food! But here we are after the first experience. There were some highs and some lows. The sides were absolutely delicious- the mac and cheese was well made and the beans had lots of meat and not overly sweet but had a nice spicy kick to them. The miss for me was on the brisket, it was cold to begin with, the leaner pieces definitely needed the bbq sauce. While the fattier slice was a better experience. Very tender, nice smoke flavor. They were out of ribs on the day I ordered so I would definitely want to try them out again soon.

I was so excited that a place I used to frequent in Compton had opened up another spot in my city! I am super happy to say that absolutely nothing has changed about this place except for the location and technology. First off, heads up, this place is cashless so you have to call in, order on line or pay at the kiosk on the inside wall, swipe, or insert your credit/debit card at the end, they accept Visa and Mastercard. Now that we have that out of the way, the kiosk is nice and has pictures, prices and sizes of all the food they have but make sure to pay attention when placing your order because certain foods are not available at certain times like sandwiches are only served between 11-4. I ordered fried okra, potato salad, chicken links and the dino rib. I also got a slice of red velvet cake for my daughter in law to try, its her favorite. The fried okra was fried to perfection, crispy on the outside with a light seasoning and the dipping sauce that came with it was fire, which is slang for delicious. The potato salad is like a mustard country potato salad with aromatics and it is not sweet - it reminded me of my mother's potato salad which made me smile. The chicken sausage link was also really good, but that dino rib! Wow! It was so tender and flavorable, the first bite was everything - it just melted in my mouth. You could cut this bug beef rib with a plastic knife! Now, it wasn't cheap, the dino rib by itself cost $39 but it is huge and so worth it. They also gave me all the condiments and a lot of barbecue sauce in case I wanted to get down and dirty with it lol, that's what he said. The business itself was clean and nice and the customer service was top notch. The only down side is the parking, which is no fault to the business but maybe this will encourage them to get a dine in restaurant in the future because I would certainly come and eat and bring the entire family with me. I will be back! P. S. There was a lot of fat on the dino rib so next time I will request a leaner cut.

Just stopping by to give Bludso their kudos for selling a great Thanksgiving package! I ordered the Smoked whole Turkey meal with the 3 sides and gravy, plus added a Key Lime pie. My family of 11 really enjoyed the taste of everything. The process for picking up was smooth too. I waited no more than 5 min for them to gather my preordered meal. Thank you Saticoy location team for making it a smooth process. I will be back next year. I also wanted to add that I've picked up a small to go order in the past and the food was good and the service from the staff was good.

Truly excellent BBQ. Had the pork ribs and mac & cheese. Very smoky and flavorful. The ribs aren't super tender and fall off the bone, which wasn't an issue. Just sharing for clarity. Instead, they had a small bite to them and reminded of Chinese ribs a bit. But would go back in a heartbeat.

I had to try this place once I heard great word of mouth, so glad I tried it. First off, this location is only carry out but we knew that already. Second, the staff were so nice and friendly. Third, the bbq was great, the pulled pork and brisket were the best. We got a variety of bbq sauce and made the meats even more tasty. Omg, the mac & cheese, cornbread with the honey butter was to die for. I will definitely be back

Buffalo chicken fries were 10/10. Wings were 10/10. The Brisket sandwich was a NO! Wouldn't get that again. Wasn't appetizing. Needs to be drenched in BBQ sauce to be eaten, and even then I didn't care for it. But I would get the fries and chicken wings again for sure. Fast service, and thanks to the worker for allowing me to have all chicken breast on the buffalo fries vs dark meat. Appreciate that!

I have been to the Bludsos in LA on La Brea and this one is far superior. There is nowhere to sit. They do take out and catering only. Get it and eat it in your car. It's worth it. We ordered just about everything on the menu. The smoked wings were juicy and deep in flavor

Corn Bread, Spare Ribs, Brisket, BBQ Beans, Mac & Cheese, Key Lime Pie. Mmmmm.

At Bludso's BBQ in Van Nuys is the big ass beef rib worth $40? And how much meat do you end up with without the bone?

So this is indirect. A friend had been clear that the 40 dollar for one pound rib is not worth it. Others have told me that portions are pricier and skimpier than the norm. I was totally excited to try them since they were now in the SFV but…

We grabbed two breakfast sandwiches, one with bacon and one without, and both were standout in their own way. The first thing you notice? These sandwiches come out piping hot, wrapped tight and ready to go. Crack them open and you're hit with perfectly cooked eggs and an almost ridiculous amount of gooey, melted cheese. Not skimpy, not balanced, loaded in the best possible way. The Kaiser roll deserves its own shoutout: lightly toasted with just enough crunch on the outside while staying soft and pillowy inside. It holds everything together without getting soggy, even with all that cheese. * The meat version had crispy, flavorful bacon layered just right, salty, smoky, and not overdone. * The meatless one didn't feel like a compromise at all, still rich, filling, and honestly just as indulgent thanks to the cheese and eggs. No frills, no gimmicks, just classic deli breakfast sandwiches executed really well. Bottom line: If you want a hot, cheesy, perfectly toasted breakfast sandwich that actually hits the spot, Paulie's is a win. I can't wait to go back for lunch!

The Downtown Turkey (my choice) is pretty basic (which was fine by me) but it was very dry and I only had half, leaving with a stomachache for the rest of the afternoon. My dining companion had the Penne Alla Vodka which she really liked. I didn't get to try any, but if a pasta dish is the winner from a deli, well, enough said. A while back, Yelp listed this as a business to try. I'd saved this for the next time I was in Studio City. My entire feeling while heading home was "I drove all the way over here for this?!"

And the generous side of caesar dressing is the very BEST I've ever had. Wish I could have saved it and slathered it on everything. The Turk sando was very good, but more like a 4/5. Solid fillings and good ratios, but not a WOWER. One of the seasonal specials is the Martha which is an upgraded version of chicken salad (Tarragon chicken salad, apples, shaved fennel, arugula, basil, lemon, garlic aioli on grilled Ciabatta, $16) which sounded pretty good. I placed the order online and headed over to this busy section of Studio City. Street parking can be tricky especially in the afternoon, and there are 'parking ticketers' out in force. This was my first time here at this location, but they had a handy takeout window at the one end, and a friendly guy handed me the bag. As for the food, I could only eat half of the sandwich; one reason is because it was a Lot of sandwich and second, I didn't really enjoy this for the most part (I did give the other half to a hungry co-worker who did like it). Then my favorite part, the cookies. I ordered two orders (two come in an order) so I had four to enjoy. The first bag was a decent sized pair of cookies, but they shafted me on the second order. This was basically one cookie cut to make two which was clearly noticeable compared to the other order. I was too far to return these but next time, it's something I will check on before leaving. I didn't have this problem the first time I came here (even though it was a different location) but as for anything, I recommend checking your order prior to leaving. Otherwise, I will be returning to Ggiata but maybe for a classic Turk or Antonia, or even the arancini side-

Souvlaki delivers on all cylinders with great customer service from Mr. Tony, who mentioned it was him and his mom working the kitchen that night (we came in around 9:10pm). Tony was very friendly and helpful to us in making a decision by describing the menu with detail which made it easy to decide what to order. Tony explained that they want to be a healthy late night option for patrons as they close at 11pm, also, the featured meats are halal. We ordered the lamb and beef shawarma wrap which come with fries. Canned and bottled drinks are availible to order as well. I really enjoyed the freshness of the Ingredients in the wrap, which was a pretty good size. Crunchy veggies, savory meat and sauce wrapped in what I believe is lavash thin flatbread.
