I have been to the old one in Compton they won hoodie awards and such. Not the same at all!! The players are 35$ per plate with a up-charge of $3 for ribs. (At a rib joint, the nerve) but it wasn't my plate so oh well. First note this is a pick up spot only there is an ordering counter that no more than 4 people can be in at a time. The street is super dark and desolate looking it feels like an industrial area think City of Industry. There's no parking well there's one spot to park for pick up. The street parking is filled with what looked like broken down type cars the four I seen had chalk writing like tow yards do. To the food!!! Ordered 2 two meat meals that come with 2 sides. Not a piece of bread or muffin was included. Please notice the dry @$$ pulled pork? and I got 4 pieces of a rib tip that was the same as 1 maybe 2 real tips ANYWHERE else.the tips were chopped into 2-4 pieces from one full tip. So I really feel cheated and I was frigging hungry -hungry. The pork was dry and couldn't be swallowed without the bbq sauce and drink. She ordered a hot link with ribs and added a side of ribs for an additional $24. The sides came in a small container I had Mac n cheese and greens which every bite I was like wish I had cornbread to add to these greens. While she had greens and the sweet potato (which by the way was the best thing they had going on) the Mac was average I'm about to reheat and toast again before I hit send for this review. Reheated the side of ribs, greens and Mac and it's a bit better than the pulled pork, but this definitely isn't a bbq spot I'd advise anyone to go to nor would I dare try without bbq sauce and a lot of it. Very mixed first order from Bludsos. I remember back when they were in Compton selling out of the parking lot weekly. The bbq world has changed, obviously with inflation the prices have gone up significantly. I live really close to this location and it took me too long to get some of their food! But here we are after the first experience. There were some highs and some lows. The sides were absolutely delicious- the mac and cheese was well made and the beans had lots of meat and not overly sweet but had a nice spicy kick to them. The miss for me was on the brisket, it was cold to begin with, the leaner pieces definitely needed the bbq sauce. While the fattier slice was a better experience. Very tender, nice smoke flavor. They were out of ribs on the day I ordered so I would definitely want to try them out again soon. read more

I was so excited that a place I used to frequent in Compton had opened up another spot in my city! I am super happy to say that absolutely nothing has changed about this place except for the location and technology. First off, heads up, this place is cashless so you have to call in, order on line or pay at the kiosk on the inside wall, swipe, or insert your credit/debit card at the end, they accept Visa and Mastercard. Now that we have that out of the way, the kiosk is nice and has pictures, prices and sizes of all the food they have but make sure to pay attention when placing your order because certain foods are not available at certain times like sandwiches are only served between 11-4. I ordered fried okra, potato salad, chicken links and the dino rib. I also got a slice of red velvet cake for my daughter in law to try, its her favorite. The fried okra was fried to perfection, crispy on the outside with a light seasoning and the dipping sauce that came with it was fire, which is slang for delicious. The potato salad is like a mustard country potato salad with aromatics and it is not sweet - it reminded me of my mother's potato salad which made me smile. The chicken sausage link was also really good, but that dino rib! Wow! It was so tender and flavorable, the first bite was everything - it just melted in my mouth. You could cut this bug beef rib with a plastic knife! Now, it wasn't cheap, the dino rib by itself cost $39 but it is huge and so worth it. They also gave me all the condiments and a lot of barbecue sauce in case I wanted to get down and dirty with it lol, that's what he said. The business itself was clean and nice and the customer service was top notch. The only down side is the parking, which is no fault to the business but maybe this will encourage them to get a dine in restaurant in the future because I would certainly come and eat and bring the entire family with me. Finding good food in LA isn't that hard, but finding where that food is gets trickier and trickier. Usually they're in a mini mall wedged between a dry cleaners and a hair salon. Sometimes, they're in the back of a gas station or a pop up in someone's backyard. Now we can add unassuming, industrial warehouse to the list. If you've never had Bludso's before, do yourself a favor and try to have it at their main restaurant. This location is great and gets 5 stars...but the fifth star is an asterisk because it's to go only and BBQ is not meant to be packaged and brought home. If you've had Bludso's before, then you know how amazing the brisket is. It's fatty, tender...it melts in your mouth and you don't even have to chew. The flavor you get once it hits your tongue is intense. You taste the meatiness, smokiness, and the seasoning. If you were to get something to go, the brisket holds up well, but the turkey did not. It's one of the few places that does a smoked turkey breast and while it is amazing, it unfortunately dried out by the time I got home (15-20 minute car ride). The smokiness hits you right in the face. It's maybe the best way have turkey, but this was not it. Definitely could have used some Thanksgiving gravy. As for the sides, I'm never big on sides at BBQ places...if I want something to complement brisket, I'll order some pulled pork or ribs. I can get potato salad anywhere else. Since I ordered the combo plate, I ordered a side of the mac & cheese and baked beans. I had just had the mac & cheese at a catered work event a couple weeks ago and it was some of the best mac & cheese I've ever had. Again, this, to go, was not ideal. It just congealed into a ball of cheese and noodles. It was still very good, but not as good. I got the fried okra and while it was good, unfortunately it had just become a soggy mess by the time we got home. The baked beans however were perfect. The right amount of sweet, savory, and comforting. If I had one complaint, it needed more beans...because it was mostly brisket or pork chunks in the beans. Actually, that's not a complaint, it's a compliment. With all that said, this kitchen outpost they've set up still has some of the best BBQ on this side of town. If you want real BBQ, come here. I have now been to the van nuys location twice and both times were very disappointing. So you're thinking if the first time was bad why did you go back. The first time was with a group of friends and we ordered the party tray. On the menu says feeds eight. There were six of us guys. We were concerned there still wasn't going to be enough so we ordered another half pound of brisket and half rack of ribs and we wanted to try a Dino rib. So you would think that's enough food well let me tell not even close. We are big guys but a total of a pound of brisket is not three slices and two half rack of ribs, so a full rack is not six ribs. And all the sides say half pint but clearly on the packaging says 1/4 pint. All the food fit in one of there bags. The food I did get to sample tasted good but still had to go get more food. So for the second time I said it was because we ordered catering style. I'm going to go back for one of there sandwiches and his puppies. I show up at 5pm and all of the sandwiches are sold out. Turns out they stop selling sandwiches at 4pm. Ssmmmhhhh I guess my fault so I decided on a bbq chicken salad. I get my salad and when I get home because this location is a take out only I open my salad and there is no chicken. I said well it's on the bottom nope just romaine and tomatoes. I've been ordering from here on Uber Eats and I have to say I'm quite addicted. My favorites are the wings with a dry rub and the most amazing ranch sauce, the ribs, and smoked turkey. For sides I always get collard greens and mac & cheese, can't go wrong with that combo, the mac & cheese is delicious and the collard greens has lots of pieces of turkey in it and it's very filling. I was blown away. The Ribs were incredible!! Moist, Smokey, and a bark to kill for. The chicken was tender and Smokey in every bite. My other half got the Brisket which literally MELTED in my mouth. The sides were first rate. Creamy crunchy coleslaw with a slight zing and potato salad that was crafted with perfection. the cornbread and honey butter was delicious and I wished we had ordered more. He envisioned Panorama City as a pleasant place, yet upon arrival, it did not meet his expectations. The BBQ Feast After what felt like an eternity, Frankenstein reached Bludso's and placed an order for a BBQ feast: brisket, ribs, BBQ beans, mac & cheese, and cornbread, totaling $85.00. The tantalizing aromas made the drive worthwhile. Parking Lot Perils Getting out of Bludso's parking lot, however, was a different story. I picked up an order at this location on December 17, 2025, at 9:15 PM. I had no issues with the food; however, I was very disappointed with the customer service. The young Hispanic female employee wearing glasses was extremely rude and unprofessional. Her attitude clearly showed that she was unhappy with her job, and unfortunately, it affected how customers were treated. Customer service requires respect and professionalism. If someone is unhappy in this role, it may be better for them to find a position that suits them better. Employees like this can negatively impact your business's reputation. I've been to Bludso's BBQ long time ago and enjoyed their bbq at La Brea location. Glad they finally opened one in the valley, which is close to home and just in time for summer. This location is primarily take-out only, no seating and very tiny. Parking is limited to two cars, so mainly street parking. We ordered the lunch sandwich special and got brisket which comes with 2 sides - $18. We got side of mac n cheese, cole slaw and collard greens. Brisket was spot on delicious, moist and flavorful. Topping it with cole slaw adds another dimension of yumminess. We actually enjoyed it more this way. Both collard green and mac n cheese were good too. Staff was really friendly and hooked me up with their mild and spicy bbq sauce which were both terrific. Definitely worth return trip back. We were so happy when Bludso's opened up a location in Panarama even though it is take-out only. I've been wanting to try Bludso's for awhile but didn't want to drive to the other locations which are farther away. We ordered brisket, pork ribs, Dino rib, potato salad, fried okra, corn bread and collard greens. All of the meats were tender, the meat on the pork pulled off the bone easily, the lean brisket definitely needs to be eaten with sauce and the Dino rib was tender but had a fair amount of charred meat and charred fat. The meats have good flavor and smoke rings. If you like vinegar the potato leans more towards a vinegary taste, Okra was fried nicely and the collard greens is a bit towards the tart side. Definitely spread the butter they give you on the corn bread. They gave us two containers of sauce but I think we could have used 3 containers. Don't get sticker shock, a quarter lb of brisket is $12 so basically $48/lb and Dino Rib is $39 a rib. You can easily spend well over $120 out the door for a family of four. Overall, a good bbq. I had been wanting to try Bludso's for quite sometime and took advantage of the rainy day to do so. Tried calling the location, but the phone goes straight to a voicemail indicating you must order online which is somewhat annoying because DoorDash apps and uber eats can get a little costly. Ordered 1lb of brisket and 2 racks of the pork ribs for a family of 6 eaters. Decided to do side dishes at home. The brisket was very flavorful. The meat is tender and falls apart. You can get a side of their sauce for added flavor, but the meat tastes great on its own. The ribs were really good too, meat was tender. And also accompanied by their signature bbq sauce. Overall, I can appreciate the taste and quality of their product. The ribs did not taste like they had been boiled at all (which is my worst pet peeve when it comes to BBQ). The fully smoked flavor was very evident. It will probably be a while before I reorder because 2 racks of ribs and a pound of brisket was $150+ and TBH it's a bit much for what it is. But it was definitely worth the try. On a side note, I'm not sure if they have a sit down area for dining in. I only went into a small pick up area. read more
