Love that Palms has one of the few buffets still in operation. It is always busy, but not too busy, which means people really like it. There was a long line of locals one time we went. The food presentation is excellent with different areas of foods labled, a well stocked carving station. We LOVE The Mimosas and Crab Legs, are my FAV!! The steak, fruit and veggie station, breakfast foods area, etc.. There are several foid sections. We always ask for the same waitperson, JANICE. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype--or the price. To start, the sides were hit or miss. The Mexican street corn was a standout--very tasty. The lobster mac and cheese had good flavor as well. Cornbread and baked beans were solid, but the green bean casserole had no flavor at all and was pretty disappointing. There were more sides, but we didn't try them all, to save room for the seafood. Now, on to the reason we came. The lobsters were mostly overcooked. Out of the four Maine lobsters we tried, only one had that moist, buttery texture you expect. The rest had dry tail meat, and the claws were dried out and not worth eating. The crab legs were inconsistent. The first round was served cold, the second round was overly salty, and finally, the third round was hot and flavorful, though still a bit too salty in some pieces. One highlight of the evening was our server--very friendly and attentive. He made sure our drinks stayed full and checked in on us regularly, which we appreciated. For $173 (for two people), it just didn't feel worth it. While there were a few decent items, the overall quality and inconsistency of the seafood make this a one-and-done experience for me. read more

Solid buffet. Came for the $65 lobster night on a Thursday, glad they took reservations which I made online a few days prior, so we simply had to show up and wait for like 25 minutes to pay and then be seated. Not a fan of them making you prepay and include a tip before you even sit down without knowing how the service is. I decided to tip in cash instead after the meal. The server brought me a glass of water and a glass of pineapple juice and cleared the dirty plates a few times. Overall the server did a great job for her limited duties as it was a buffet obviously, so no complaints on the service side. Lobster was decent. Obviously they are mass cooked and fairly small 1 lb lobsters and 3-4 oz lobster tails. You can get one lobster and one tail per trip to the buffet but can go as many times as you want. A few of my whole lobsters were overcooked but I wasn't expecting gourmet perfectly cooked lobster at a Vegas buffet, and the tails were a little less cooked, the shells on all the tails were still brown instead of bright red. The melted butter was gross, it tasted like fake movie theater popcorn butter - that could've been much improved. I also got some snow crab which was fine, a small chunk of roast beef (probably a sirloin if I had to guess), collard greens which were fine, and roasted brussel sprouts which were gross and tasted like cheap Chinese stir fry. Of course I tried to mainly eat lobster as that is why I was there, but there was a solid variety of other options. There was salt on the table but I didn't have to use that given that everything was salty. The desserts were actually quite impressive. I enjoyed the gelato (ube was creamy and good, mango was refreshing). I also liked the Dole pineapple whip. Creme brûlée wasn't as crispy on top as it could've been. The tables were a little close to each other but luckily no one was seated at the table next to me until the tail end of my meal. The buffet line waiting for food each time was little to none which was nice. When I was leaving around 8pm, noticed that there was hardly a line and they seemed to be taking walk ins and not just reservations only like they were earlier. Overall I enjoyed my meal, but $65 is the upper limit I would pay for this mediocre quality, imperfectly cooked seafood - after tax and tip (and with no alcohol) it still comes to $80+ per person which isn't cheap. I would go back if the price remains constant and I could easily get a reservation (still have to wait in line with a reservation but 25 minutes is much better than the multiple hours the wait used to be - I would not want to wait 2+ hours for this). I also enjoyed the Palms casino as this was my first time at the Palms and was surprised how nice the facility was. read more

3-3.5 is what I would give this Wednesday AYCE lobster buffet. Gave it a 4 as our server was so attentive and checked up on us and cleared our table multiple times while we were there. It's Wednesday, we have reservation for another buffet and I'm not sure I want to go here as there's no reservation taken and you have to wait to eat. Sigh. I dread both!!!! But rest of the group wants to go check it out and see how long the wait is. We always have the other buffet to go to if the line is insane. There's 4 of us. It's Wednesday at 4:50pm, we got in line but can see the register. I was told it'll be about 40mins from where we are. And by 5:30pm, we were in. Not a big buffet. Wednesday is not a big selection of dinner items but definitely you can eat as many as you want of lobster, lobster tail and crab legs. I had 4 lobster tails, a few slices of sirloins, some Asian food items, poke and bunch of shrimp cocktails. Plus the few bites of desserts to top it off and I was so full. I think it's worth $64.99 pp. literally surf and turf and more surf, not a bad deal at all. Lobster were ok, a little dry and not too moist. Drenched it with butter and it's decent. Two areas at the buffet to get these lobster items so you're not in line. And qty is endless, as much as you. A little insane. As stated lobsters were ok. Poke was good. Crab legs - OK. Dessert - ok. Nothing really stood out, food wise. Service was great though. And luckily the wait wasn't too bad. First off .... LOUIE i think his name is the Mexican guy , dude. I've been getting bad service for a while and THIS GUY MADE MY DAY. Extremely politely and on it it goes a long way when you ask for a soda or if you ask for Tapatio and steak sauce and the responses right away trust me that is amazing service. You need more people like this that are on it. Literally running around and doing your job AMAZING. Not doing it , but AMAZING. We went to AYCE Buffett approximately 5 years ago and loved the place. So we made AYCE Buffett one of our dinning destinations for this trip and were excited to revisit this establishment. Unfortunately, we were so disappointed. 1) we waited in line for one hour and 15 minutes for lunch. 2) the foods are dry looking as if they have been sitting for a while. 3) it has very few selections for Salad and soup. Congee was one of the soup selection.... :/ It seems Management has cut the quality and selections to increase profit. The lunch price is $43 per person. It was not worth it. Went there to revisit a Lobster all-you-can-eat. I am glad that they changed the way of getting in the place. From the long line now you can just make a reservation by scanning their code or just visit their website. They offered Lobster every Wednesday and Thursday. When arrived it took less than 10 mins to get through the line, payment, and then seated by the host. Our waiter Salvador approached the table quickly to take the drinks order and throughout the whole time, he was actively cleaning, bringing more napkins when he noticed we were out and emptying the bucket at least 3-4 times. (Well... I ate like 8 Lobster myself) We sure appreciate his attentiveness and caring. At the end also offered coffee and guided me to the dessert station. To be honest many servers when I ate at the buffet were too tired or lacking when comes to clearing tables, coffee service, or even simply refilling the drinks. I noticed not many people leave tips at the end or the beginning when paying. I hope if you read this review please know that even an extra $10-$20? can make your server's day! Pizza, Wedge salad, Caesar salad, Elote corn, and many other options were tasty. Lobsters are 1 per person per trip, you can get a whole one and or just the tail. Take your time because they kept refilling their station all the time. All stations were clean and the food looked presentable. I will return and enjoy more lobsters. Also, love that all utensils for successful eating are also provided. 4 stars because I wish there were bathroom or hand washing sinks inside the buffet. read more

With fewer and fewer buffer options on or near the strip, I was pleased to see that Palms had theirs open after the pandemic. Dropped by here with a friend after the CES Show and was greeted by a friendly hostess and seated immediately. The place was clean and bright. There are several stations all stacked with delicious food options. From American, Asian, Italian and Mexican - it was all here and neatly on display. I decided on crab legs. They had several types available - both cold and steamed. There was also a spicy butter for customers who like to spice things up. There was also jumbo shrimp which required peeling. I only grabbed a few but they were very flavorful. The carving station had beef and ribs as well as lechon which is crispy deep fried pork. For dessert, there was all kinds of gelato as well as a self service Dole Whip! No need to fly to Hawaii for this treat... Trust me when I say, this is a must try when in Vegas. Food- They have a variety of foods, from steak, seafood, soup, salad, and deserts. Some are excellent and others are somewhat good. The service, let's start with the line, it's super long and pathetic. We waited at least more than an hour and a half for a Friday brunch standing in line. They need to improve this process for me to go back. Once inside the service is hit and miss for me. So I would give them 4 star but the wait is too much.
