I am very impressed with AZ Sleep & TMJ Solutions. Dr. Viscarra is SO wonderful. (She is also my dentist) I recieved my nightguard for TMJ a few days ago. How do I even begin a review for an office that has truly changed my life? No words will ever do this office justice but I'm going to try. I have suffered from severe TMJ for awhile, my jaw would lock shut and I have holes in my teeth from clenching so hard for so long. I was not sleeping well due to the clenching, and as an active person in my mid 20's, I was napping throughout the day every day and thought it was completely normal. I am extremely claustrophobic so that made my experiences with lock jaw significantly scarier and I would have frequent panic attacks. I even was terrified to go to sleep because it only ever happened overnight. I was told by a doctor prior to finding this office that this was a forever thing and I would lock and be in pain forever - que yet another panic attack. Dr. Sara is so good at diagnostics! My TMJ was a continuous issue, impacting some other health issues I have with my neck and shoulder. After starting treatment, my jaw pain was significantly reduced. Dr. Sara has given me the tools on how to self-monitor and keep my condition from getting to the point it was when she first noticed my problem. By following the protocol outlined by Dr. Sara and her staff, I was cleared of any lingering sleep apnea issues, and now follow a routine that has me in better shape and able to manage my TMJ situation. Dr. Sara is the best TMJ dentist in the valley! I have been to two other credible TMJ dentists and neither one was able to accomplish what Dr. Sara did. I visited Sarah in 2020 for TMJ issues. She did a good job of relieving my tmj, but was a nightmare to deal with in regards to insurance. I waited almost 1 year exactly for my money back, during a period of high inflation (money worth less). They claimed it was my insurances fault for not handling the claim correctly. My insurance never changed their answer as to why this happened. She claimed she was out of network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of AZ, only to find out She was in network. After a long period of back and forth conversations, (several hours, conference calls, etc) she finally told me that unknown to her , a third party signed the contract with BLUE CROSS that they had hired. I asked if she called the police as that is a crime (forgery) and she got defensive and told me "were not going there". I was lied to for a year, and ultimately given the money back. I had to pull teeth (no pun intended) to get it back as Blue Cross had sent them a check they never cashed. She agreed to a contract with them and didn't like what they were paying her. After paying me back, she said that she would no longer see me as there was no "trust". I didn't break the trust, you did by putting me through all of that bullshit. I called them recently as my bottom TMJ tray broke, simply asking if I could get the phone number of company who makes them as I still had a dental impression to send them and get a replacement (without Sarah's help in office) sent to me directly. Never got a call back from those salty old women. Do not use her if money is an issue or you want to wait forever to get your money back. Sandy was pretty chill, but everyone else is disingenuous. Her dentist is practicing under her license yet charges more than double of other dentist in this area. I was warner by family not to use her, I figured give her a chance to prove them wrong. Well, family was spot on about her. Another family member stopped going to her because of all the issues with her billing policies. You've been warned. read more
