My family likes the carne asada burritos . I don't eat red meat, so fish tacos are what I used to get. I don't know what happened but they went from having an "ok" fish taco to having a greasy one. As I got in the line was long to get our order in, but once our order the guy at the register was very nice and helped out with recommendations. Ended up trying the complimentary chips that was very delicious, a few min later the Menudo came out that was very good but think it should be served hotter. Tacos are a little pricey around the $2.50 mark but well made and a lil bigger than the tj taco size. Would recommend it to people to try out. read more

SO YUMMY! My boyfriend had to make a delivery for work and I went with him. Since we were in the area, we asked the client a good place to check out. He recommended Aztek Tacos, which was perfect because I was craving Mexican food. The place is really big, two seperate rooms. I figured since we arrived at an off time (around 4:40pm) that it would be super dead inside, but it was really busy. There was a small line with about 3 people in front of us which worked out nicely since I had no idea what to order. I finally decided on the salmon tacos, shrimp tacos and fried fish (tilipia) taco with a side of rice and beans. I ordered that, plus a drink and it came with chips for about $20, not too bad because it was A LOT of food! The salmon taco was seriously amazing. Super fresh, moist and flavorful. Also a HUGE piece of fish. The shrimp tacos were equally as delicious, also very flavorful! The fried fish taco was eh. I wasn't a huge fan, and wish I ordered another salmon or shrimp. I'm glad I saved that one to try last because I just picked around it. The rice was so good and the beans were too! They even have the nice coca cola machine where you can mix all your flavors. I love that! Lots of salsas ranging from 1-6 in spiciness. My boyfriend got the quesatacos. Wow--talk about "healthy" but honestly worth trying! Every time I come here it's jammed packed and the line is almost out the door. That's a great thing when you see a line that long it means the food is great and worth waiting for. The food is so good and tasty I never had a complaint and probably never will. They have one of those soda machines with over 100 flavors. They also have a decent patio which a lot of people eat at so I just eat inside. They have one tv and the location is a little small but I like it a lot and can't wait to eat here again. read more

AMAZING. Growing up all over SoCal I've eaten Mexican food at least once a week my entire 49 years on this earth. I have NEVER had anything like this. These guys have reinvented everything on the Mexican food menu and KILL IT!!! The quesotaco... I'm sorry my mouth just drooled all over my iPhone. Really wanted to like this taco shop. But was disappointed though. First of all, it seemed over priced. My bean, rice, and cheese was a $7 burrito. That's a lot for a burrito, so I expected a substantial burrito. I also paid extra for French fries to be added with the bean, rice, and cheese. If I was rating the tortilla alone, I would give 5 stars. The tortilla was very fresh, and was grilled to perfection. The contents however, I give a 2-3 star. Bean, rice, and cheese burrito.... With no cheese?! I literally had one bite of cheese in my whole burrito. It was mostly beans and rice. And what happened to the French fries?? Charged me extra to add fries, I found 4 French fries tops in the burrito. Not worth the extra charge. So the burrito as a whole gets 3 stars, factor in the high price, takes this place down to a 2 star in my opinion. The quesadilla I ordered was fine. No complaints there, but nothing above average either. Same goes for the side of guacamole. BOTTOM LINE for $17 I will take my business elsewhere. As a native San Diegan (and Tijuana taco buff), I am surprised to find myself saying that I found an amazing Mexican place so far north of the border! Stopped in to Aztek Tacos today, after a three year absence. I was really craving Mexican food and for whatever reason, the name stuck out in my mind. I ordered a Pollo Asada burrito and a chicken Caesar salad to share with mi Madre. Prior to sitting down we grabbed some yummy radishes, sautéed onions and salsa from the salad bar to go with our complimentary chips. Our food arrived, piping hot, shortly thereafter. The burrito was so large we ended up not even getting to the salad and taking it home for dinner instead. I would absolutely recommend this little shop. The place was packed which leads to the illusion that the food is good. No daily specials and the menu is pretty standard. The food is wayyyy overpriced $6.79 for a bean burrito that was flavorless and $9.49 for a small portion of carne asada fries. The fries are frozen string fries, not fresh and not substantial enough for a true "carne asada fries" plate. The guacamole isn't true guacamole, it's diluted to obviously make it stretch. The bean burrito was small for the price. After placing our order we were asked if we'd like to "purchase some chips." For the prices this place charges, you'd think they'd at least include a chip bar, as most places do. (Tacos are $3-4 a piece). The cup in the picture is for comparison, it's a 6 oz cup. Came here with my husband today. Was excited because all the great reviews and employees were friendly. I got the taco plate he got a torta. Both al pastor. The pastor was chewy and no flavor. And the tacos and rice were cold. I was extremely disappointed. My husband said the torta wasnt bad. At least the torta was warmed. The meat in tacos was cold and chewy with no flavor. I was extremely disappointed. My tummy is full but not satisfied. If i had time to get a different meal from somewhere else after this i would have threw it away, and got something else. But i just wasted my money here. I would have rather drove 35 min to lake elsinore for some real authentic delicious Mexican food. My craving for delicious tacos was not satisfied and i am extremely upset i just wasted money here. Made a stop at Aztek Tacos after wine tasting since it was the highest rated restaurant in the area. The nachos were massive. Lots of meat, lots of cheese. Guacamole was just okay. Overall, satisfying and inexpensive. I like how the grill is open so you can see your food being prepared. They also make their own chips which you can also see being fried right in front of you. Since it was our first time here we ordered mix such as the chicken tortilla soup, beef tongue burrito, and 3 different tacos: carne asada, al pastor, and beef tongue. The food is good, but after we ordered and sat down, there were flies and more flies. Ugh Wait time: There was no line when we walked in on Sunday evening but by the time we were ready to leave the line was almost out the door. Service: Rafael was the cashier, he was helpful and pleasant. He gave us a menu to look at as we didn't know what to try. Later he came by our table and asked how is everything? Food: everything was tasty. However, you must read the menu as their burritos only come with 2 or 3 items. For example, the tongue burrito only had cilantro and onions. We had to ask and pay more for sour cream tomatoes. They have alcoholic drinks listed on their menu but don't serve them. I asked for a margarita and they said they no longer sell it and it used to be wine based drinks anyhow. Yes margarita with no tequila, tequila from wine! Either way they didn't have it. The Soda machine has over a 100 choices of drinks. One major complaint: there were flies inside of the restaurant. I know they don't have control over flies coming in. But I saw several flies which grossed me out and we had to keep moving our hands around so they didn't sit on our food. I wonder if these flies are sitting on the food while they are preparing it. The carne asada burrito and the mulita is splendid. Their carne asada is tremendous They are a bit like tacos Tijuana but better. There are flies. The flies are annoying. But I'm judging the food and I think the flies are in the scene because they only live 3 days and this is the place to be. The service is also very good. No complaints. I love this place but they lag. The food is excellent but they don't know how to manage a restaurant. They could streamline how they take orders in house and to go and it would greatly improve how they do business. The other thing I noticed recently was they precook the Carne y pollo and just reheat it when you order. I will wait a few extra minutes for fresh cooked meat guys. The al pastor nachos were horrible the meat is dry and cold as if it's not fresh and was sitting there. The nachos hardly had anything on them and most of my the nachos were chips with nothing on them. Great food and staff. This is our go to taqueria. The only reason I'm taking off a star is that today when I came to pick up the order I'd called in they changed the process. Normally they have someone at the door asking if you have a phone order; if you do they send you to the bar to pay. I went to the cashier to let them know I had called in and was told to wait in line to pay which defeats the purpose of calling in.
