Shrimp ,Octopus , & Abalone Cocktail!! As you can see it is packed!

Lydia that works the bar area and is also the bartender makes the best margaritas! They aren't cheap but has all the garnish. Like their Taco Wednesday and get their fish tacos. Ask for the green salsa, that works the best with the fish! Today it was 107' degrees in Visalia, CA so I wanted to have something cool & refreshing! I chose to get their 3 combination of shrimp, octopus, and abalone!! Not often you see abalone on the menu. Started with cheese and chicken quesadilla to have as an appetizer. Lydia is fast & attentive watching over the whole bar. Restaurant area was full tonight with a couple of parties. What I ordered is 4.5, But I too look for authentic food, and some items are Americanized and could have more flavor.

Not the best experience. The one bright side was it was Friday night and busy but they sat us right away. To start we did get chips and salsa quickly but then it went downhill. We ordered drinks and waters. I'll chalk it up to not being a regular, but the couple that came in 10/15 mins after got their drinks before us (both water and bar drinks). No one came to check on us for about 20 mins but the couple next to us was chatted up and hugged, then greeted by 4 different staff members. Finally got our drinks and they were wrong. We had to stop someone to take our order. I might be petty for counting but we were checked on once, the other couple I counted 10 times; they were literally 4ft away from us. With all that said, ambiance was nice, the chile verde I ordered was not spicy, more sweet but I will say still good. Portions were a little small but enough. Flautas were 6/10. Bar drink was 4/10. Not sure if I come back as I'm closer to other Mexican restaurants and I'd figured I would give this a try

This place is absolutely amazing, we have been coming here for years and love the food, ambiance, service, and attention to detail. Everything here is made with 100% organic ingredients, fresh produce, this place is the epitome of farm to table movement. If you are interested in eating excellent Mexican cuisine, make this place your first and only stop. The service while it can take a little longer to get your food; is worth every minute once your order arrives. The bartender is also excellent at making drinks that will elevate your food just that much more. Support your local restaurants, and make Azul your next stop!

We also got a side of chips and salsa and two mini tacos, one with Al pastor and the other with barbacoa. The Asada tasted bad. The rest of the burrito was fine. The green sauce was great, pico and guac were fine. But the meat had this weird old tasting flavor to it. It even had a rancid smell to it after pulling a few pieces out to see what the problem was. I immediately had to stop eating it, the pieces were also fatty, tough and hard like a pebble. The chips also tasted old and stale, like store bought chips left out for a while. The Al Pastor was the highlight of the meal. The meat tasted charred, it was flavorful and well seasoned. I honestly should've grabbed a burrito with that meat instead. Barbacoa was just ok, nothing to write home about. A little more tough than what we've had from Chipotle. Not really seasoned. Overall, disappointed. Los Arbolitos was the spot to go to for a really good asada burrito. Unfortunately this doesn't seem like the case anymore. Was really hoping to find another local spot for our Mexican food cravings but I don't think it's going to be this one after all.

For 1 burrito and 1 taco with tip, came out to around $33. Don't do delivery from here. The Burrito was not very good. The meat was almost like ground beef in texture but also non existent at the same time. I tasted more beans than rice but even then, it was more of a soupy burrito with a tortilla that you had to rip at and hope each bite wouldn't undo the whole burrito. There was some kind of salsa inside it that wasn't apart of the description. It gave it an off flavor. Al Pastor taco was meh. The corn tortillas tasted homemade, which was nice. But the meat was stringy, kind of fatty and an off color almost a light orange. It tasted better than the asada but still wasn't very good. I do appreciate they followed my request for extra salsa, but these packs look like they come from a frozen dinner you get at the store. Absolutely off putting. The flavor was "ok" but nothing special. Overall, not worth it. $33 and I was left with an upset stomach. I had such high hopes! I haven't been in a long time and was hoping it would have been an amazing experience. I was wrong. I gave 3 stars cause I do appreciate them following the special instructions most other restaurants don't. But that still can't justify the food.

Service: We were greeted immediately after entering the restaurant. The greeter was super polite. She ended being our waitress. So many alcohol options to choose from. Food: The food was very good. Chips and salsa are always a great addition to any Mexican restaurant visit. I give them a B on presentation though. Although the food was delicious, my plate looked like it was just thrown together. We hear this restaurant has a second location so my wife and I are excited about trying the other location soon. Like another customer stated that it had a funky odor and it was covered with bleach smell was true on my first visit and after talking with the owner of the restaurant, the menu sounded like it was worth coming back. I came back a second time and the owner recognized me and greeted me and directed us towards our table. There was no odor this time and it is an older establishment that actually was a house at one time. If you sit in the back area you can still see the crown moldings of the living area. We ordered the Marlin Empanadas- there is 4 to an order ($12). I wish I cut one so that you can see in the picture that it definitely is Marlin. Marlin is red flesh and I've fished in Cabo San Lucas and caught marlin and it's not the best flavored fish as it is dense and very oily. This definitely tasted like I remembered the last time I caught a marlin! Still this was good as I don't see marlin on the menu much so I usually order shrimp empanadas. We ordered Cooked Seafood Molcajete- Shrimp, octopus, crab, fish, and mussels. It came out boiling hot and I'm going to post video of the clay pot so you can see that it comes out hot from the kitchen!! Ordered a side of whole beans and homemade corn tortillas. Yes they do have homemade corn tortillas here and I definitely recommend! They also have a Tomahawk steak served with shrimp ($75) that I hear is a good seller!! Come support this restaurant! It's located on North Sante Fe and away from most businesses so you don't know it's there or has re-opened like I did!! Quality is good and everything had good flavor!

When we arrived at my family member's house in Shafter and opened the container, the entire lime juice had leaked into the bag, and what was left was basically just a tiny portion of cucumber and avocado--definitely not a complete order. How was this almost $20 ($15 + Svc fee) I immediately took a photo and called the restaurant. Our server, Adriana, asked me to text the picture to the # I was calling +1 (559) 830-4004 so the manager could approve a refund. I did exactly as instructed, and they did respond after reviewing picture and said they would issue refund... but despite following up multiple times, no one ever processed my refund or even responded. Considering how expensive the food is here (plus added service fees), it's really disappointing to be treated with such unprofessionalism. All I expected was accountability and a resolution for an order that was clearly incomplete. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and customer care has left a very negative impression, and I don't plan to return.
