Got food quick. Chicken tacos were super dry. Beef had weird after taste. I was asked if I wanted spicy salsa and I said yes. Never got it at all. Never saw the waiter again. Guy getting our dishes was super nice. Never saw our waiter again... finally had to go up front for our check. 2nd worst visit ever even though there were a few More less awful. Had some really good visits, but literally haven't been here in 3 yrs and just so damn disappointed. We are just done. Rather go to where we know the food is always excellent, unfortunately that's in the valley. So Friday late afternoon and the valley just was too far and we opted for here. Worst decision. "I've had so much better Mexican food", my thoughts while trying Azul Tequila for the first time today. Arriving for lunch after a quick stop at Kaiser a short drive away, I found the staff to be warm and attentive. No problem with service. After going through both menus for several minutes, I settled on the following: first a virgin pina colada from the bar (El Cholo's tasted better). And for the entree, the Classic Burrito (chicken) with beans and rice. A complimentary serving of chips & salsa were brought to my table as an appetizer. The chips were fresh enough, but the salsa was somewhat weak as was the other bowl of purée'd pinto beans. With no additional condiments provided on the table to help spice things up. On its arrival the entree was plated nicely but looks were deceiving. The burrito was filled with shredded chicken that was way too dry, chewy and poorly seasoned. Very disappointing, while the sides of beans and rice had little going for them as well. Nothing compelling enough today to bring me back for a future visit. read more

We came in for a quick bite after we drove into town, and really only came here because of the good reviews. But today's experience proved to be much less. It took FOREVER to be acknowledged, and when we were finally able to flag down someone, we have our drink/appetizer/ and entree and one to go order together (because of the ample time we had to review the menus -.-). So after a long wait we finally got a our drinks, then all the food at once! So I tried a jalapeño popper and it was frozen... yup... So I had to send it back (we didn't see this dish again till after we asked for the check). And we got it back like warm... one popper less... and no sauce lol. Rice was dried out, probably from the warmer, and the pico de Gallo was mushy (probably again from the heat lamps). So we were able to find a waitress to get our check and we bounced as soon as possible. Not a great experience. Everything seemed really clean. The staff was very friendly, the food was delicious. Definitely one of the more authentic Mexican places in the area. Salsa was obviously homemade, and really good. I got the carnitas burrito and the tilapia taco, both meats were tender on the inside yet had that nice crispy exterior. Plenty of sauce on the wet burrito. Salsa and chips and kept coming when you asked. Good margaritas. Will definitely keep coming back. read more

Evelyn was the sweetest and most engaging server. She even gave me a great tip on preparing their delicious avocado salsa ! My husband and I have been here many times but it kinda missed the mark on service. Evelyn fixed that so thank you. I lean towards no carb/low carb meals. I also have a gluten allergy- so I chose 2 asada street tacos- seasoned great, heavier on the meat and the tortillas tasted homemade. I ate one tortilla and had a few chips with their delish bean dip. Hubs had the 5 street tacos platter- rice and beans were good! Found this place on accident and I'm so glad I did. Ordered the food by phone outside the restaurant and it was ready to go in less than 15 min(yes we ate in the car and everyone was properly wearing their ppe). First the service was fast and the people were so friendly and helpful. The quality and the taste of the food was absolutely top notch. I ordered shrimp ceviche and the pieces of shrimp were huge and fresh tasting. We also ordered a carnitas burrito, that thing is huge! It has so much flavor (the green sauce was out of this world)and probably could have been something shared. Also ordered was the Nachos with Al Pastor, my daughter says they are the best nachos that she has ever had in her life! I will have to come back to this place next time. We went in for happy hour on a Friday at 3 o'clock which is basically when it started. Seated right away and happy hour is not just in the bar area which is always good. We ordered a couple of beers to start, my wife got the Blue Moon and I got a Dos Equis Amber, both on tap and both were $3.95 for a good size mug. We were pretty hungry and our son was with us so we decided on the small sampler (which was big) happy hour nachos and jalapeno poppers. We all liked the dishes and I think the best overall was the sampler plate which like it's name says samples a lot of items. I liked the poppers but they were on the crunchy side of the deep fry. Ordering another couple of beers put us right over the top because the size of the portions and we went from famished to stuffed. All in all above good, but not great. Although this place has good margaritas you have to be willing to wait, and wait. And be willing to watch the rats play in the bushes. We were seated on the patio and had to ask the various wait staff three times to send a waiter to our table. When she finally made it to us she explained that she had another large party who was taking up most of her time. It seems the management did not try to balance things for her since we observed several servers standing around. However, while waiting for our orders we were able to watch several large rats playing in the bushes and running up and down the planter. They never approached the tables (thank goodness) but it was disturbing to watch. We won't be going back. read more

A little gem hidden away near the industrial center off Magic Mountain and Tourney Road. I've been here twice and the food hasn't disappointed. The first time was a Saturday night for dinner, the second on a Thursday for lunch. When we arrived for lunch, there weren't very many people there around 11:45 or so. One hostess/waitress, and later one other server and possibly a manager serving too. The service was a little poor, probably because they were understaffed that day? Had to flag her down for more drink, and later for the check, which still took a long time. Had the street tacos for dinner, and they were above average. Then I had the make your own combo....beef taco and beef tamale. The rice was average, and so were the beans. The beef taco was excellent, nice and crisp shell with flavorful beef. The tamale was so-so. A little dry masa with not much beef, and not too much flavor. Overall, I'd give it four stars for the food. read more

4.5 stars. The service was friendly, prompt and excellent and they have the food to match it. The chips, salsa, rice, beans, the things that restaurants don't think about much, were all above average. There wasn't anything that we ordered that was exotic. It was just executed uncommonly well. The bill at the end of the meal for two adult meals, two margaritas and a kids plate with a chicken burrito came to $42. It's one of the few places where you do a double-take because of the great value. If you're looking to get a dinner after a day at Magic Mountain, I don't think you can do better than this. read more

I was told this was really great Mexican food, and apparently a lot of people in the area think so, because the house was packed! Everything seemed really well run so they could handle all those people, which I have to give them credit for, because that is an accomplishment in itself. I ordered a combination plate with tacos. Nothing wrong with it, but didn't have any particular wow factor. Seemed like the food was average. The margaritas were also average, but it felt like this place succeeds a lot on their bar. Atmosphere is kitschy and loud. All this good time could be confused for authetic/awesome food. Waiter was a nice, personable guy. Seemed like he was always pushing more drinks, but in a joking way. Typically when a customer calls in and mentions that, " we didn't get the correct order that we placed," you don't start a dialogue by arguing with the customer. Don't expect an apologize, and they will become confrontational and defensive. I ordered a cup of albondiga soup which arrived luke warm, and wasn't very good. The albongas (meatballs) had an odd flavour. I also had the fajita steak salad which was a dissapointment. The onions and green peppers lacked the char one is accustomed to in fajitas. However, the steak and dressing was good. My wife ordered an mole enchilada and chile relleno combo. She enjoyed her meal. Her only complaint was the enchilada could have used more mole sauce. We also had two coffees. My wife disliked it and I was fine with it.
