I never would have found this place without Yelp's help and I am so glad I did! In my opinion, this was the best dinner I had in Key West. Azur has a bit more of an upscale atmosphere, so it is perfect if you want a nice, quiet dinner. The service was impeccable throughout and so was the food, from appetizer to dessert.. We told them it was our honeymoon and they gave us dessert drinks on the house! I will make a point to come here when I revisit the island. Our concierge recommended Azur for breakfast and it surely did not disappoint! We stayed at the Pier House and after a lovely 15-20 minute walk we arrived and were greeting by our lovely French server. The mango mimosas are quite refreshing! We ordered the Avocado Benedict, Yellowtail Snapper Benedict, Crabcake Benedict and for good measure we had to order the famous Key Lime French toast to share as our "breakfast dessert." This was a very nice place. We went twice while in Key West. It had great italian sausage for breakfast. You can sit outside and listen to the fountain. It is shielded from the street so you feel like you are at an exotic restaurant. The menu is very eclectic so I would not recommend bringing children. read more

Tasty al fresco brunch spot, walking & biking distance from everything Key West. Had room to park our 12 passenger mini van in their private lot. Got a nice private patio for 6 peeps, 2 mini peeps & 1 micro peep. Plenty of shade but protected from strong gusts of wind with 3 walls to help contain the toddlers plus a high chair for the baby. They had doggie bowls if we had brought our four legged family members. No changing table in the bathrooms but they're large enough that they had two padded chairs which doubled nicely for a quick diaper change. Bring your own changing pad to be considerate of others. ;) Good food too, bee tee dubs. (By the way) Portuguese French Toast was yummy & with 3 cups of coffee, side of eggs and bread...I was ready for a nap. Nice wine selection from what we could tell. Attentive wait staff that catered to the kids. Thanks for the great first meal for our first vacay in Key West. read more

This place is outstanding. Our party of four dined there on Thanksgiving and it was the best holiday meal we've ever had. Two of us had the grouper, another had chicken and I enjoyed the steamed p.e.i. mussels. All of us left well satisfied with the excellent server as well as our food. The food was excellent. Incredible Caesar salad with fresh anchovies. Phenomenal. They had a grouper special with shrimp and a variety of vegetables in a grain like quinoa. That was the best grouper dish I have had in my life. They have a Spanish beer Estrella Galicia that I had had before and loved. Was excited to find it again. Located a little away from Duval. Nice and quiet here, serene. Quick ride on a scooter or little bit of a walk. Breakfast is awesome! If your a Benedict fan, you'll be thrilled. It sells itself. Outdoor seating is now a covered patio. We were here for breakfast and dinner a few years ago and we still love the breakfast, dinner is good but we've never wanted to go back for anything but breakfast. Outstanding food in a small and cozy environment. I ordered the Lamb Shank which was listed as $25 and I was ok with that, my fiancé chose the Yellowtail - both were delicious; then the bill came... That's when I remembered that I had made reservations specifically for before 7pm during their happy hour when ALL food is 50% off for their summer special - amazing. So our bill was cut in half for 5 star meals. This is one happy customer. I tipped the waiter well to share the savings. We will definitely be returning. We have been here several times and really loved the food. We did not have quite the same experience today. We went for dinner. We order the oysters that were amazing'. My mom even said the to the busses that the oysters were so good when he said "yes I know I work here". Later he refilled my mom's water and spilled Water on her. The honestly don't think we even knew he did that but you should never pour water over top of the table or person. The entrees were good but not what I expected. My Risotto was swimming is tomato sauce. I didn't care for that. My tile fish was cooked perfectly. I mom ordered the Chicken entree, she said it was ok. Some of my followers have been messaging me to ask why I haven't been posting reviews lately. Well, my hiatus was not an accident.... I have been waiting for a place worthy enough for my 100th review..... Meet Azur! On a recent vacation to Key West, I had the pleasure of dining on the lovely side patio of Azur with my wife and cousin. I'm sure that you would all agree that many times a dining experience is enhanced by the company you are with. Besides the fact that I was with great company, I was also eating at a restaurant that I now deem as my favorite restaurant on Key West. Azur is the perfect spot for a lovely dinner away from the hustle and bustle of Duval Street. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, the prices reasonable, and the food decadent. What more could you ask for? Well, for starters, I'll take 5 lbs of that homemade gnocchi on the menu home with me! Anyhow, the three of us hit the jackpot with the menu items we ordered. For starters, we had 1/2 dozen oysters that were extremely fresh. We then decided to share a second course of pan sauteed cauliflower and homemade gnocchi that was toasted and mixed with peccorino romano cheese, and arugula.... then topped with truffle oil. For dinner, we ordered two entrees: a Black Grouper that was mixed with mushrooms and risotto as well as the Yellowtail with Pink Shrimp and Swiss Chard in a tomato broth. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was superb. My only complaint was that there were too many great menu choices! After visiting Key West twice in a twelve month span, I'm not sure that I will be in KW again anytime soon..... but the next time I am, you can bet that I will be visiting Azur. This is my first review ever. I don't normally feel compelled to write a review, although I do appreciate reading other yelpers reviews. What compelled me to write a review this time was how grossly rude, offensive and pretentious was the host at this restaurant. Concierge at our hotel recommended this place and made a reservation for us. Looking at the menu we were quite excited about this restaurant and were looking forward to our meal. We showed up at the restaurant at 6:00, not the busiest time as the restaurant just opened. The host invited us in and suggested a table either inside the restaurant or outside on a sunny side with no shades. We asked if we can seat outside in a shaded area. He first said NO, as the tables in that area have been reserved. As we contemplated where to sit, he changed his mind and let us seat outside in a shaded area. Out of 12 or more tables on a patio only one other table was taken at that time. We set our 2 year old and started browsing the menu. All of a sudden he comes up to us and says that other customers may be coming in any minute now and they might not like sitting next to our loud child. It is worth noting that our toddler was not particularly loud, not crying, he was simply playing with the utensils on the table. At that moment we asked him if he wanted us to leave, to which he replied that he is just saying, that he offered us a nice table and may be we are a bit too casual for this establishment. Highly rude and unprofessional service mars good food! We used to love Azur until we had brunch there today. The male waiter propositioned my husband right in front of me! When did that become okay in the restaurant business? When it came time to pay the check, my husband made the universally acknowledged sign for signing a check and the waiter said, "Oh, are you asking for my number?" We stared at him and he said it again! We were, as the British would say, "gobsmacked." My husband asked me to hurry up and use the ladies room so we could get out of there. Once we exited, he told me when the waiter came over, he complimented my husband on his bracelet (a gift from me) and said he wanted to show him something on his phone. On the waiter's phone was a sign that said, "Can't help going fishing....just kidding." My husband told him he didn't get it and the guy said it again and gave him a wink. My husband told him he was fishing in the wrong pond and beat a hasty exit from the restaurant to meet me outside. We were both very uncomfortable and will never go back. Azur management, you need to deal with this insulting and unprofessional behavior! read more

The fiance and I ate here in Key West to celebrate my Graduation. Yay, so happy I'm finally done with grad school! but that is a story in itself and now it's time to talk about the restaurant. The food at Azur was very good, but the menu and portion sizes are a bit odd. Our waiter told us that they halved the portion sizes on a few dishes so the fiance and I both got an appetizer and a gnocchi and hoped for the best. It was totally enough food. I was stuffed when we left. I started with the salad nicoise and it was fabulous, loaded with big chunks of flavorful tuna, fresh green beans, tomatoes, potatoes, etc.. I totally recommend it. The bf had the octopus, pretty good, but a little chewy. They served focaccia bread at the table which I totally enjoyed with the chili oil. The gnocci's we got were the braised beef and the pine nuts. I think they were both good in their own own although very different from each other. I'm also not sure I'd order either again. The restaurant was a bit of a walk from the old town, but I totally think it's worth going to if you don't want to eat over priced tourist food. read more

The meal here was pretty good with a few minor kinks. This place is pretty off the beaten path in Key West. I liked that it was well away from Duval craziness. We walked in with a reservation at 8:30 p.m. and the place was hopping. Hopping to the extent that we stood awkwardly in the tiny entry area for about 5 minutes before we were acknowledged, greeted or anything. Servers scurried around us, but no one said hello. We almost felt unwelcome. Once we finally got seated, the atmosphere was great. Our table looked at a pretty waterfall with lights and greenery. Romantic! Service during the beginning of the meal was spotty, too. It took forever for our waiter to take our drink/food order. Things picked up throughout the meal, though. We started with the artichoke, roasted pepper and manchego "tasting plate," along with the charred octopus marinated with garlic, lemon zest and Italian parsley appetizer. Both were quite tasty. The freshly roasted artichoke, roasted pepper and manchego flavors blended together perfectly. Yum! The octopus was the most tender I've ever tasted. Usually it's a little chewy. This was tender and perfectly seasoned. The bread was for sure the best of the trip. Chewy outside, soft inside and served with a sundried-tomato-infused olive oil for dipping. Entrees weren't quite up to par with the apps. The bf got a ribeye, which arrived over-cooked. I'd expect a restaurant of this caliber to have cooking meat down, but not so much. That said, the accompanying arugula, potatoes and sauce were delicious. My confit of duck leg with pork ribs, chorizo and white beans was good - I loved that they cooked the duck till it was crispy almost like fried chicken or pork rinds - but it just felt like it was missing an element to pull all the flavors together. lt was close to awesome, but ended at just very good. For dessert we got lavender creme brulee, which was good, but no contest to the creme brulee and Louie's backyard. I paired it with a white dessert wine, which was also tasty. The wine list was pretty good here with a wide range at a range of price ranges. We got a Priorat (at around $70, one of the more expensive selections), which was very good. Would I come back here the next time I'm in Key West? Yes. But I think I'd stick to appetizers and skip the entree. The chef seems to be more creative in the first part of the meal. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Key West. Inventive food, well-executed, and prepared by chefs that know cuisine and know how to cook. This is the kind of place that made me feel like friends had invited me over for dinner. I love the setting. It is not obvious, but the building used to be a gas station. Talk about mid-century modern. We started with the salt cod croquettas which were delicious. The grilled octopus with cucumbers was perfect. The octopus was thinly sliced rather than chunky, almost like carpaccio. My friend's black grouper was incredible. I had the seafood risotto which was creamy and melded the flavor of mussels, shrimp, and scallops perfectly. Absolutely indescribable. Our waiter suggested the panna cotta for desert which we were still talking about three days later. They are closed for several weeks in September so call ahead. Stopped in for dinner on a early Friday night. Place was fairly empty but no worries. The look of the restaurant was tasteful and fit perfectly with it's off Duval location in a quiet area. Menu was more eclectic than Mediterrainian. Bread was served and it was very good for house bread. Had the wild mushroom gnocchi as an app which was also very good, the wild mushrooms and chopped asparagus made the dish. For dinner I ordered the Tilefish fish special (on a tiny bed of shrimp and a not so spicy Spanish red sauce). It was a big chunk of fish and it was cooked perfectly. It was delicious. How could a fish that eats bottom feeders not be? Wish it was a regular item on the menu, I would go back for it. Also tried a bite of the Ossobuco on a bed of risotto, it was tender and delish. For dessert had the pecan tart with ice cream which was not as tarty as sweet (almost as sweet as a pecan pie slice). Ice cream was good. Also tried some of the Espresso panna cotta and as coffee related desserts go it's a winner. Service was very good. By the time I left (around the magic restaurant time of 8pm) there was a wait for a table. Seems that Key West restaurants are very hit and miss so I would rate Azure a hit. read more

We're in Key West for a few days on vacation and thought this place looked great on Yelp. Yelp was right! This place is a gem. We're so pleased we found it. It's a small unassuming but very classy place with a casual feel and charming outdoor seating. I had the caprese salad to start and my husband had the octopus salad. Both were fresh and delicious. But the real stars were the main courses! I had the beef short rib gnocchi, and oh my...it was...heavenly. The chef really has the gnocchi down pat. They were like soft little pillows that melted in your mouth. My husband had the grouper special, which was also very good. So fresh and tasty. The neighborhood around the restaurant is very cute too. A very welcome change from Duval St. I'd highly recommend this place! If I lived here, I'd be a regular. read more

Well off the beaten path. Highly recommend driving or taking a taxi. One thing they only have beer and wine. You need to make reservations or you will be sitting outside. The wait staff is very attentive and really made the night. The Giant prawn was huge and cooked to perfection. The sauce it came with was the perfect accompaniment. The clam and calamari appetizers were also very tasty. The Canadian Oysters were very tasty start to the evening. The ribeye was very good and canm with grilled potatoes and various veggies. The Seafood Risotto was the best dish. It was filled with lots of seafood and cooked to perfection. The Grouper special topped with shrimp was also a masterpiece. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
