First off, there's only street parking so you have to find a park down a side street if you can't get lucky around the establishment. I fortunately, found a park around the corner, while our friends had to park on the street behind Ventura. Ones we arrived, we see nothing but a sea of pool tables and the place is packed. Music playing, TV's on and everyone was having a good time. Everyone seemed really young like it was a college hangout but the kids were pretty cool. Our wait time was 45 mins but it seemed to go by pretty quickly since we ordered a few beers and seltzers and while hanging out. I did see a menu with food but I think they only serve food until 7p. Anyway, this is a cool spot to come hangout and shoot pool. The place seemed pretty safe with no knuckle heads that night. Oh one last thing, there was a line for the girls bathroom because I think there is only one stall in there. The guys bathroom had a stall and a urinal so there wasn't really a line. More specifically, it took me here for a trivia night - Charlie's Trivia Night, Wednesdays from 7:30p - 9:30p. They have a few of them, but I came here for this one. The drinks were dive worthy, and the pizza was, too. It's a fucking dive bar. ENJOY IT. If you want a fancy cocktail go to the arts district you asshole. Personally the combo pizza helped silence my growling stomach, because the brain power I have to use to get half the answers correct is cause for a bite or 20. It's all nostalgic. Nostalgia for a fun, easy, unpretentious evening where you don't feel like you have to wear makeup because doing a double wash with an oil based cleanser and then a cream based cleanser feels like a lot at the end of the night. We loved the indoor tiki decor and thought the whole vibe of the place was so cute and charming and we did appreciate some of the other customers who dressed up in Tiki style clothing as well. We did get dropped off/picked up but there's theoretical street parking out front for your DD (drink responsibly!!). They had a summer drinks special menu and we got the TBD and the Pure Imagination, I preferred the pure imagination. Lighthearted and well-spoken, she can chat with anyone about almost anything, and she manages the crowd well. She's a good egg who's seen it all, but seems to treat every day like it's possible to get through without any problems. There's no food for sale here, but they're happy to have you bring or order in anything you like, and you'll often see people at the bar eating meals from the many local restaurants. There are 8 TV's mounted around the place (plenty for its size), so you can watch a game if you like, and the digital jukebox is easy to manage from an app on your phone. Plus, they've got solid, reliable WiFi, in case you're sick of sitting in Starbucks. Drinks are modestly priced and generously poured, and there's ample parking, both in the lot out back and on the un-metered street out front.
