So disappointing we won't be back. We actually all agreed if we'd gone to Wendy's for dinner it would have been better! My husband and I wanted to treat our parents to a Christmas Eve dinner that they could enjoy and remember. It was far from that. My husband was the only one who got a good steak but the green beans weren't cooked long enough. Don't waste your time or money on a weekend lunch here. To start, only the brunch and the front of the menu are available for weekend lunch. That limits the choices to appetizers, salads, sandwiches or breakfast. Pretty disappointing considering I had my mind made up to have the fried shrimp before I was told this. After the initial disappointment, I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and the wife ordered some seasonal salad with Shrimp and strawberry, watermelon, etc. Her salad comes out first. . . No Shrimp. Salad gets taken back and Shrimp are added. She rates her salad a solid 4 stars. If the wife is happy, that is a huge plus in my book. My buffalo chicken wrap comes out and looks promising. My momma always told me not to judge a book by it's cover, and I should have listened. The same type of wrap is 20 times better at your local Taco Mac. Not to mention the fries. I do not think the fries ever saw a speck of seasoning and were beyond bland and ordinary. All this is to say I give this place 2.5 stars (rounded up to 3) and that is because my wife raved about her salad. We had a wedding rehearsal dinner here last evening (our second visit here) and we can't say enough about everything from the management to the food to the server. They treated our group like family, had our buffet selections ready to go when our group arrived, were constantly attentive and responsive, and our diligent server, Sara, was simply awesome. She singlehandedly set our seating up and made sure everything we needed was taken care of immediately. We'll definitely be back and seriously suggest you consider them for everything from your date night dinners to group gatherings. read more

Update: I'm glad we did finally go back and give this another try. The fries are still pretty meh. But, everything else was really good. Burger special on Tuesday was the best in a while, if pretty red for medium. The special Monday was great all around including sides. Brussels sprouts were fantastic especially the next day for left overs. We will be back as long as we keep having good experiences. Finally decided to go today and ordered the omelette from the brunch menu and the black bean burger from the lunch menu. Everything was very mediocre at best. Those seem like hard things to mess up but somehow they did. I never met a tater tot I didn't like until today. Some where extremely salty. Some has no salt at all. The fries were limp and... just not good. They left all the seeds on the jalapeños so they were incredibly hot. The omelette was fine... not good, but just fine. They substituted a croissant for my toast but when it came... it was unlike any croissant I've ever had. It basically wasn't a croissant. Was croissant shape but made out of some other kind of bread. This place looks very nice upon entry (when you finally make it in...more on that below). The fabric on the booth seats was dissolving/wearing out though, which was a turn off. We just didn't want to have any pleather fabric remnants stuck to us upon our departure. Here's the deal: The front entrance of the restaurant was oddly placed and difficult to find. It looked like it would be on the left side of the building, but then again on the right side because there was also a door there, and then there was another door under the outside seating area that appeared to be yet another entrance. Rather confusing. But the door is in the corner of the front, left side facing Sixes road, just FYI! Our waiter was nice, courteous, and helpful. He was also very attentive to answer any questions we asked (which were not very many) and gave suggestions. The stuffed salmon was a step above "okay". The potatoes were mashed and the seasonal vegetable was squash, which was really just squash. Nothing too extraordinary. The chicken and waffle sandwich was huge. And I was very excited about ordering it. It has 5 pieces of chicken and a couple pieces of cheese and two strips of bacon on two full sized waffles. It has spicy maple syrup on top, but it didn't taste like real maple syrup. The syrup might be a bottled type, like aunt Jemima syrup, with red pepper flakes in it. The waffles tasted pretty good but the chicken wasn't really a standout player in this monolithic sandwich. (Hint: eat it with a girl and knife, and take it apart if necessary!) We did start our meal with a pretzel appetizer. The giant pretzel is truly a giant pretzel. It was very good; it was warm, soft, buttery, and salty, just the way a pretzel should be. The cheese dip was a tad bit salty, but you are eating a pretzel so salty should be expected, and the other sauce it was served with, spicy mustard, was great. Overall our experience here was fairly good, not sure we will return any time soon, as it is somewhat out of our way, and there's nothing that makes this particular place a huge draw for us. Overall, I'd give it a recommendation, especially to those that like craft beers and other alcoholic beverages, but we were not blown away by anything in particular. Asked for recommendations on Facebook for a local, non-chain restaurant that was open on Sundays, and this was one of them, and the only one in Canton and not Woodstock. I had two friends from out of town visiting and wanted a fun, different place to eat. I thought the "farm to table" concept would go over well with my friends from New York and California. The service was okay--nothing remarkable. The section we were seated in had clearly just had a large party leave, but nothing got cleared from it the whole time we were there, so we had a row of dirty tables as our ambiance. We finally went and sat outside once it was cool enough and that was much more pleasant than the loud interior. We ordered the southern burger, the French dip and the turkey sandwich. The burger was tasty, the French dip was the fattiest sandwich I've ever tasted and the turkey sandwich was remarkably bland, with bread that didn't taste fresh at all. I didn't even want a box for the other half. The fries were lukewarm and blah. Sprinkling parsley flakes on fries does not elevate them to $13 sandwich level. With tip, we paid $75 for three sandwiches, two beers and a drink, and it was one of the most disappointing meals I've ever had. I'm really bummed about it. I wanted to impress my friends with what a small town could offer, but left embarrassed. read more

Today's visit was for the Sunday buffet. $31 a piece.. incredibly overpriced for what you get. Plus, they stack all reservations so that they begin at the same time.. leading to a 20 min wait in the buffet line just to get to the food. Either stagger the reservations.. or take the single line buffet and build it so two lines can go down it.. this place is so nice and it's such a shame that it remains so poorly managed. To top it off, I found a piece of the bag of grits.. in my grits. I showed it to the manager and he was sorry but, still $31. Form is way more important than function here. The Friday night was a Shrimp Scampi Risotto that has me addicted to come back just for it repeatedly!!!! Terrific experience that night and really was a great value for the amount of food. First I'll say that our server was so sweet. Just a really great lady. The manger was very nice and he was as shocked at the quality of food as we were. Now for the review. I wanted to like The Butcher and Bottle so badly. It's in an upscale part of town so I go in expecting superior quality to go along with the prices, as I have seen at many other gastropubs I go to. Such was not the case at all. The beer was fine, because it's beer. I ordered a mixed drink that was 90% lemon juice, 9% ginger beer and 1% vodka. It was supposed to be svedka vodka, but after I ordered a shot to mix into the drink myself, I tasted the vodka by itself and it tasted like cheap stuff, rubbing alcohol ish. So I figured since I have to pay for it, I'll drink it. I'm not a complainer so I just sucked it up. The appetizer of gator nuggets with chili sauce was awesome. Literally the best thing we had. Also had veggie flat bread which was good, but too heavy on the pesto. The entrees were horrible. Sent them back. Even the manager was appalled. The cheese ravioli with tomatoes was literally drowning in balsamic vinegar. It was disgusting. My husband who is extra polite ate a few bites and was grossed out. I got grouper and it was on a bed of cold rice. I took a bite and it was full of bones. Yes that means it was only 5 small bones, but for $28 why am I having cold rice, brown avocado and fish full of bones? I have no problem paying $100 for excellent food. But this was just gross. So we sent them back. The manger and server were very kind and understanding that we didn't want a different entree. Appetites are lost at this point. They offered a dessert, and I accepted and it was decent. So all in all the gator, beer, and dessert were fine. I still had a $40 bill for a ruined date and We left hungry. First time visiting. My wife and I wanted to try their Sunday brunch. First off I want to say that our server Madison was fantastic!! The brunch menu was limited but that's to be expected. We both order coffee and when we asked for half & half or non-dairy creamer they didn't have any to offer. They could only offer HEAVY CREAM. Well I have dairy issues so that wouldn't help me any. Not everyone has these issues but I do and sadly it affected my visit. Our food comes out. The chicken and waffles that my wife ordered were bland with little to NO SEASONING on the fried chicken tenders and the waffles were more cardboard than waffle. No taste of vanilla in the waffle batter or flavor at all for that matter. My omelette was in a pool of grease. And I have questioned this next thing for many restaurants.....why do you serve COLD BUTTER that is impossible to spread onto your toast?! This was sadly the case here. I went to spread the butter out and jammed my knife through the toast in the process. The fruit salad was on the soggy side. And I'm referring to the pineapple. Which tells me that this isn't something that's prepared fresh daily. I will not be returning to this establishment. For a $50 ticket it is not worth the time. I've been The Butcher and Bottle several times since moving to Canton and I have to say it is a true gym to the area compared to the other dinning options that Canton has outside of the downtown area. B&B carries some great craft beers from Reformation Brewery in Woodstock; I am particular to the Atlas American IPA with it's smooth balance of hops, citrus, and malt. In addition to the craft beer on draft they also have others like Guinness, Yuengling, Stella, etc. They also have a full bar and make a damn good bloody mary. They recently changed their menu and stopped carrying a few of my favorite items like the fried brussel sprouts; but have replaced them with other tasty dishes like the Bulgogi Tater Tots topped with thinly sliced Coca Cola marinated rib-eye topped with white cheddar sauce, gochujang ketchup and green onions. You gotta try them once! Some of my other favorites include The Chef Seth Burger, Ribeye Hero, and Filet Mignon. I'm not too big on their dishes of Butter Chicken or the Kansas City Strip; the chicken wasn't Indian (spicy) enough and the strip was a little tough. I almost forgot. Happy Hour Monday - Friday with 1/2 prize beers and food specials. And don't forget that Monday's are Prime Rib Night with a $10 10oz Prime Rib, $16 for a 16 oz, and $24 for a 24oz. Service here is also great, sometimes a little too attentive. But they welcome you with a warm smile and make sure you are taken care of through you meal. Overall, I highly recommend hitting up B&B for some great drinks, beer, and food. read more

I am giving this place three stars only based on the food because everything else would get five stars. The restaurant is so appealing from inside and outside. The service was very good. We ordered stuffed salmon, burger Nd tater tots for appetizer. There is no creativity at all when it comes to the dishes. The meat on the appetizer was fatty and chewy. The sauce also didn't go with tater tots. The burger consisted of a thin patty, greasy bacon, cheese and pickles. My favorite part of the burger was the fries. The stuffed salmon was very simple. It was served with mashed potatoes and green beens. I would love to come back for a drink and a different appetizer but I don't think I would order a meal. This was the perfect spot for date night with the wife. The atmosphere was perfect to allow conversation and enjoy a well prepared meal. Everything looked good in the menu so we tried the Habanero Hot Wings to start. It was a pleasant surprised, we expected a very hot dish but it turned out to be a sweet peachey dish with a bit of spice. It was well prepared but the name was missleading. The Chicken and Waffle was HUGE, we did not finished it. The chicken was tender and juicy dripping with maple syrup. The Asian Hanger Steak was cook to perfection, very tasty. We came here after being kicked out for having a dog at another resturant. So I was a tad annoyed and my boyfriend was trying to get me back in a normal mood. We called ahead to make sure they were dog friendly and they informed us they were as long as we sat on the patio. Which is fine with me because it was 75 outside. We were greeted quickly with menus. They didn't have the wine we wanted so our server Luke made great suggestions for us. I love all wine so I let my boyfriend pick. We ended up with a Re d Zinfandel. I order the bacon wrapped filet and it was cooked to perfection. I have gone and payed 50 dollars for a steak at places. This steak was amazing. Last minute dinner date with my wife. We had heard good things about this place from locals. Although it was Friday night, and very crowded. We were seated as soon as we walked in. We chose not to order an appetizer and went with desert instead. Our server came over right away and took very good care of us. Both is us had steaks (unusual for my wife). Both came out as ordered in a reasonable amount of time. The ribeye was VERY good. Both steaks were Very tender with perfect seasoning. Mine came over mashed potatoes with green beans. For desert, we had crème brûlée which was also very good. The noise level was a bit elevated which is the only negative (hard to call it negative really). Great food and service! Opening night...what a busy night for this new Canton restaurant! And though we're not usually fans of trying out a restaurant on their inaugural voyage, we were pleasantly surprised to see how well the staff and the kitchen were able to keep up with a completely PACKED restaurant. These aren't newbies to the food scene, these guys have this business wrapped up neatly with a bow. From the hostess, to the wait staff to the bartenders and the chefs...everyone was on point and pleasant as they could be...despite the fact that they were completely slammed and in the weeds from the moment they opened their doors. The food...oh yes, the food...a great combination of foodie delights and good ol' bar staples...with a twist. We decided to just snack throughout the evening and try several small plates. From the sliders trio (be sure to take your time with the lamb slider!) to the deviled eggs (my favorite was the smoked trout roe) to the elk corndog (to be enjoyed with their house-made mustard)...everything that we tasted was delightful. Based on our conversations with the employees, be on the look out for specials and new additions! We can't wait to see what they'll be cooking up next. The bar was well designed and fully stocked...high end bourbons, a thoughtful wine selection, yummy specialty cocktails (the Prohibition has an interesting spin on the traditional Sazerac) and an extensive list of local microbrews that can't be beat...love that they've committed to supporting the local Georgia brewing community...our suggestion...try the Reformation Stark Porter or the Orpheus Atalanta (that's not a typo) sour and top it off with an Eagle Rare bourbon night cap...deelish! So...whether you're looking for a nice dinner with the family in their beautiful new dining room or for a late night snack at the bar...you should give these guys a whirl...you won't be disappointed! read more
