The pork spare ribs was delicious and the meat was cooked perfectly, and the BBQ sauce wasn't too sweet nor too sour. The burnt ends was okay but I liked the ribs better. The onion rings were delicious and crispy, but the cole slaw and potato salad tasted typical which was not bad. Overall, I might come back to try more things on the menu and maybe hear some live music since the server mentioned that the restaurant would bring people in to play music on some days.

This is your no frills classic bbq joint. Checkered table covers, communal tables, bbq, & lots of noise. They have a large lot for parking. When you walk in it's furnished like a dining hall with large long tables and a bar along the wall. There's also outside patio seating as well. This is a great place to hang with a larger group & listen to some live music. Unfortunately the food was really a miss for me. We ordered the pork belly burnt end potato skins, jambalaya, chicken wings, burnt ends with potato salad & beans, and ribs. I would not recommend the jambalaya, it did not have any creole flavors to it or color. I also didn't care for the potato salad, it was missing that tang. I was also disappointed with the burnt end potato skins as they took out majority of the potato so it was truly only the potato skin when the actual potato could've helped provide more texture and body. Additionally by omitting the green onions they missed the opportunity to brighten it up with some freshness. I would definitely recommend the ribs they had a nice bark on them! I also like the array of bbq sauces offered. Our waitress was really helpful and very fast at getting us any additional things we needed. Although we didn't stay for the live music I can definitely see it getting rowdy in there! Would like to come back to enjoy a performance and have some drinks.

A good place for great bbq and live blues! Saturday night music began @7, so we chose to sit on the deck, so we could have conversation while still listening to the music. Later we went inside to enjoy the a/c & music. * note, if you arrive prior to the show and are still eating when music begins, the cover charge is automatically added to your bill.

I had the nachos I forgot the name but I put the pictures here and they were really good. The flavor was different and it's what I liked the most and the potatoes were the best part. The server was very attentive of our needs. The vibes was very laid back and great for my personality.

Don't pass up on this spot. We ordered a round of tater kegs and I could've ate them alone. Them we ordered both nachos on the menu. I had the bbq nachos and I finished them. Enough said, 10/10! Thank you!

Dinner and music all in one spot. Why not? Highly recommend coming to check this place out for great live music and good bbq. I love the family style picnic tables do you can meet new people. This place was super busy on a Friday night but the servers, bartenders and kitchen keep things moving and stay on top of things.

BB's is okay BBQ. Good quality meat with a decent flavor, quick service, and a nice interior that has a Louisiana meets Memphis vibe. The spicy peach sauce was the highlight of the visit, though I wish you could taste more peach. I did enjoy the smell of smoke that wafts over and hits you as soon as you get out of the car.

We went there for dinner on a Friday night. The inside was packed since they had live bands on Friday nights. We sat out on the patio which had a group of people watching on the BB games. Even with the busy night it was the staff was good at checking up on the table and taking orders. Food was very filling and flavorful.

We really enjoyed our time at BBs Lawnside! The service was amazing and loved the atmosphere. The Tater Kegs (a recommendation from our waitress) were the star of the show! We split the Kings combo and added the burnt ends where were very good. We found the sausage lacking but really liked the burnt ends, brisket and skillet fries. We definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun BBQ joint while in Kansas City!

This IS Kansas City Barbecue! A roadhouse with blues starting at 7pm. Picnic table seating or a covered patio. The walls and covered with music and murals. Our waitress was outstanding g giving us the best recommendations. The ham and turkey were so tender and full of flavor. The smoked meatloaf is mixed with brisket and full of smoky deliciousness with a light texture that is hard to define. My first visit to the city and this place hit the spot. I almost forgot! GET the bread pudding regular or fried, heck get one of each like we did. You will thank me.

The last review was 11 years ago! it's time for an update:)…read more I signed up for the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise (LRBC), because my aunt loves it, the thought being it's an awesome experience, sharing something a love one is passionate about together. Let me tell you, I fell in love myself, and was totally hooked on The LRBC, within a few hours of stepping on the ship. The accommodations, food, staff are all wonderful. The cruise is always on Holland America's new ships. My cabin was fairly spacious with a lovely veranda. However, what really made the cruise were the people and the music! Music was going 24/7, and the talent was hot! I was able to dance my heart away day and night. Some nights I never went to bed. It was such an incredible experience, all that was needed was a few hours sleep here, a couple hours of sleep there. I made so many connections and friendships with fellow cruisers. There's quite a few cruisers and artists I've kept in close touch with, since coming off the ship in January. The vibe on the ship is warm, welcoming, and full of heart. I've already booked for January, 2026! One thing to note about booking is: it's almost impossible to get on the boat as a newcomer. The cabins are mostly booked out for the following year cruise, by the time you get off the boat. There are a few cabins that are left, after prior cruisers are done booking. If you want to get on the boat, make sure to sign up for email notifications on the LRCB web page. There will be an email sometime in late March/early April announcing cabins and waitlists to the public. If you get on your computer and refresh the bookings page right as it opens, or call right when the list opens, you may have a chance of getting a cabin, but if not, at least you'll be fairly high on the waitlist. 2025, #17

This Cruise is NOT for you ! You will absolutely HATE being in the Caribbean in January, exploring…read moretropical Islands and basking in the warm sunshine. Also, you will utterly detest the almost 24-hour a day live Blues music that is on this ship - it is just too noisy with the likes of Johnny Winter, Taj Mahal, Dion DiMucci, Keb Mo, Magic Slim, Tommy Castro, etc., etc. And, you will definitely despise hanging out and parting for a week with these same performers into the wee small hours of the night. So for the love of Zeus, please please stay away from this Cruise - I'm begging you !

Nestled inside the ultra-luxurious Raphael Hotel, this upscale Restaurant/jazz club had our group feeling like we were heading to a high-society adult prom. The ambiance practically demands a raised eyebrow and a sophisticated toast. Naturally, the libations were flowing. On one end of the table sat a chocolate martini so decadent it looked borderline sinful. On the polar opposite end of the spectrum, I ordered an extra-dirty Chopin martini, complete with blue-cheese-stuffed olives. Look, it didn't reinvent the wheel, but it was executed exactly the way I'd make it at home--assuming I could ever actually find a bottle of Chopin in any of our local liquor establishments. (Seriously, who is hoarding it?) We kicked things off with the gourmet bread basket. Do yourself a favor and cough up the extra $5 for the super soft bread and whipped butter; your tastebuds will thank you for not being cheap. For my starter, I opted for the she-crab soup, which presented itself as a spectacularly rich crab bisque. Word on the street is that she-crab Is vastly superior to he-crab. This is a PG-rated review, so I shall leave the mechanics to your imagination. Then came the piece de résistance: the 12-ounce ribeye, flanked by asparagus spears and Delmonico potatoes. This sucker was thick. When I asked our waitress for a proper steak knife, she politely pointed to my standard-issue butter knife and confidently declared, "That's it!" I thought she was joking. She wasn't. Melt-in-your-mouth is an understatement; this medium-rare masterpiece yielded to a butter knife like it was soft brie. The sides were equally stellar. The Delmonico potatoes were a beautifully elevated, elite version of scalloped potatoes, and the asparagus was snappy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The evening's only tragic misstep was the cheesecake. It, too, was incredibly thick--but in all the wrong ways. While fortunately not overbaked, the texture resembled a very well-flavored, highly gourmet paste. To add insult to injury, the graham cracker crust had completely surrendered its structural integrity, offering none of the classic crunch I crave. Minor dessert tragedy aside, it was a phenomenal evening. The service was impeccable, the vibe was unmatched, and that steak alone warrants a return visit. Next time, I'll just be exploring a different corner of the dessert menu.
