I decided to pick up some Australian licorice and some of their jumbo peanut butter cups. I'm familiar with the brand of licorice, but as far as the chocolate it was quite good - the cup was stuffed generously with peanut butter. It was also very smooth which gave it a good mouthfeel. Service was friendly, but overall I didn't think Balboa Candy was anything too noteworthy. Good as a standard candy store, but I've been to better ones.

I'm not asking for one drop of extra gelato... just a bigger paper cup. Recently, a manager told me they could no longer do this because they're "losing too much money" on the larger cups. I was honestly flabbergasted. Meanwhile, customers standing in line are offered free gelato samples, often multiple samples, but apparently an empty larger cup for a five-year-old is where we draw the line on cost? The photos show exactly why I ask. This time we had brought friends and their children with us, and everyone walked outside with gelato overflowing and melting everywhere. At the volume they buy their cups even if the larger cup costs 50 cents more.. THEN charge me for it! I'd happily pay FOR THE COST OF A LARGER CUP. But after years of loyalty and hundreds of visits.. bringing EVERYONE for "Bacio break" being told this tiny accommodation is costing the company too much money was incredibly disappointing. The first time this manager said this, I let it slide.. this was the 4th recent visit and I HAD TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE. They will let you sample other flavors as well. For the $200+ purchase we were about to make, I could have gone into a chocolate coma! My wife proceeded to load up a shopping basket with half the store, while I did my Yelp thing and took pictures of everything. This is not a very large See's, but they did have a large selection of pre-packaged chocolates, as well as a la carte pieces in the display cases. SInce it was already November, most of the items on the shelves were Christmas themed, wrapped and ready for gift giving. We ended up shipping most of it home. For my grand niece's birthday party the following week, we brought a box of the lollipop variety pack and it was a hit with all the kids!

The ice cream was really good - smooth and not overly sweet which was a welcome surprise. Overall, I was impressed with Summerland. The aesthetics leave something to be desired, but the ice cream was quality and I would return if I'm ever in the area again.

My wife, cousin, and I stopped by this candy shop for the first time, and we had such a great time picking out all the different candy options! It was such a fun experience, and we were especially excited to find some of the same treats we had in London and Paris, healthier candies without food coloring or dyes, made with more natural flavors. It's rare to see those kinds of options, so it was a pleasant surprise! What really caught me off guard (in the best way) was learning that all their baked goods and ice cream are homemade. Of course, we had to try some, and we ended up getting the Cookie Monster and Strawberry ice cream. Both were amazing and didn't last long! On top of all that, the woman at the front was so kind and incredibly sweet. We had a full conversation with her about life in general, and it truly made the experience even better. She was the icing on the cake for our first visit, making us feel so welcome. If you're a candy lover or just looking for a fun and nostalgic experience, this is absolutely a place worth checking out. We'll be back! Can count on that! read more

Seriously, this place is so amazing that I can't stop thinking about them. I went on Saturday because my friend made me and I was like big deal who pays for cookies and it can't possibly be that great. I WAS WRONG! I got a sugar cookie and the rainbow cake to go and it was everything my dreams are made of and more. Seriously, I am so picky I hate most bakeries because they aren't good enough but that rainbow cake was amazing! Stop here and try it. B.Candy is where me and my friends good to get candy. It's the only good candy store around. Sees candy is not even candy. B.Candy has everything I've loved since I was a little kid. I came in once and a British family was in the store. They were so surprised to see a whole section filled with candies from their home country.
